Queen City Collective Coffee
Karen S.

Queen City Collective has been here for a few months, so I'm not sure how I missed it until now. (I only found it through Yelp.) It's tucked into an apartment block in the Fitzsimmons area, near the Hyatt. Because it's part of the complex, guests can sit in the large shared community area, which has tonnes of comfy seating (though it looked like it could have used a good clean after a Saturday night party). They have some bakery items, but nothing gluten free, unfortunately. The barista was super friendly and made our drinks quickly. I have to admit that Queen City Collective coffee always tastes a little sour to me, but that aside, it's great to have another coffee shop in the area.

This spot is sooo beyond great! Highly highly recommend. The owner is so sweet and friendly and…read morehelpful and accommodating. I got a matcha and my hubs got a cap. He let me customize my matcha and it was absolutely perfect! A lot of coffee shops with pre-make their matcha in batches, but he whisked the matcha by hand to order right in front of us! We even got a tour of the roastery part of the shop! Soo cool We're from California, and My husband got some of the best beans here (thank you so much again!!) and has been loving making Glissade at home! :) If you're looking for a friendly, welcoming, DELICIOUS coffee spot, go here!

I didn't even know the building it's in existed so everything was a complete surprise. Bright colors, lots of light, strong coffee and ample seating for chatting or working, I really couldn't ask for more! Staff is super friendly and multiple people greeted me. Their seasonal flavors looked tempting and I got a yuzu coffee latte to sip on while I worked. Lots of outlets to charge and options for seats....couch, tables, folding tables and seats outside. I'm usually a dark roast kind of gal but found the medium roast highlighted in my latte top notch. So much so I almost ordered a second one. They close at 3pm every day so I had to cut my visit short but they weren't pushy about kicking people out. Absolutely adding this to my great to work from coffee shop!

Do not walk, RUN to this bakery. If you are looking for something new and delicious, you will not…read morebe disappointed. The standouts were the ube latte and the crème brûlée cruffin. The ube latte was perfectly sweet with a strong ube flavor. The crème brûlée cruffin had a top that was so crispy from the toasted sugar that I couldn't cut into it, and the bottom was just stuffed full of cream. It was super messy to eat and impossible to share- next time I am getting my own. We also had the pandan coconut cupcake, which was good but not as exciting as the cruffin. The pandan and coconut were both equally strong flavors- I liked it better than my husband did. The Thai tea cake in a cup was also excellent, but outshone by the cruffin. They were out of a few other things we wanted to try by 11am on a Saturday, so get there early if you want something specific. The gentleman running the counter was very friendly and efficient, even when they were busy. Seriously, get the crème brûlée cruffin. I know I will be back for it.

I hadn't been to this cute and interesting (Vietnamese-French fusion!) bakery for quite a while…read more(looked it up: wow, four years--time flies). My girlfriend was taking a class nearly across the street, so I thought I'd check it out. I was disappointed that they've apparently stopped making crêpe cakes as that was a favorite. There were none in the case and they're no longer mentioned on the Web site. Alas. However, there were lots of interesting items on display. I selected a Strawberry Croissant, a Chocolate Cupcake, and one of the cake cups: Ube Tres Leches Milk Cake. I'd never seen anything like that last item before. The strawberry croissant is filled with fresh strawberries and vanilla cream. I was worried that it might be soggy, but it was crispy, flaky and very tasty. The frosting on the cupcake was chocolate-flavored chantilly cream. This was heavenly. Absolutely perfect. I never contemplated ube plus tres leches. There is a traditional Vietnamese version (ha, you Latin purists!) that uses the flavors of Vietnamese iced coffee, but ube is a new approach. The number of different cultures involved here is making my head spin, but the result was delightful, of course. A mini cake in a paper ice cream cup is also a great idea. More substantial and easier to eat than a cupcake, but still a good snack for one person. Service was prompt, friendly, and helpful. The business faces Colfax Avenue. There's street parking plus a large, free parking lot behind the building. There are a number of tables if you can't wait to get your purchases home and a variety of drinks including Vietnamese coffee, a full espresso bar, tea, and lemonade. Bánh mi and other breakfast and lunch sandwiches are available plus rice bowls. I really enjoyed my purchases. Downtown Aurora is a bit of a drive for me, but I definitely need to make the trip more often.
