Small local coffee shop with a fiercely loyal following. Despite "coffee" being highlighted in their name, their delicious matcha and hojicha tea drinks are probably what they're even better known for. It's located just across the street from the Anschutz Medical Campus, so you'll find lots of healthcare workers and students camped out in the middle of the day and afternoon. A decent size parking lot exists behind the building but is shared with several other retail spaces so can get tight during peak hours. And not to worry, you can enter through the front or back doors, so no need to walk around the block with your hands full. Once you find yourself inside, take a peek at their main menu behind the bar, but also the posted seasonal specials located on the counter. Housemade syrups elevate their standard lattes to even more heavenly sipping experiences. If you've got a hankering for Asian inspired flavors, look no further - ube, black sesame, and pandan feature prominently in their craft drinks and pastries. I like that they partner with other local businesses in their products as well. One complaint I do have is that there's not really room to stand to wait for your drink during busy times given how narrow the space is between the bar, tables, and merch shelves. You're bound to get in someone's way while they're trying to come in from the front or back entrance. The only other downside of Carbon is the disappointment you feel when you finally get to the ice cubes clinking sadly in your cup when you reach the end of your drink.
It was so rare that I was on this side of town, I knew I had to stop by this coffee shop. I've heard amazing things about this shop. I have come to yelp to confirm, it absolutely lives up to the hype. This is one of the few places I can say I'd reorder the matcha latte. Creamy, but full of matcha with the perfect balance of sweetness. The hojicha was also fairly authentic and had a great earthy flavor to it. Service was quick and friendly. There aren't too many tables available, but great for a solo work day.

BUT LATELY they've been making things hard on me because their matchas are really freaking good as well. Today I ordered a spice pear matcha and OMG I was not prepared. I'm in heaven! The service is always so accommodating and kind. They clearly take pride in their coffee and their space. If I lived locally I would be here daily!

There's not a whole lot of tables if you're looking for work space but if you're lucky enough to grab a seat i think you can pretty easily find a good flow state. They got the traditional coffee menu items plus some fun ones like a banana latte. They've got good matcha options and I ended up getting the ube matcha with oat milk. The ube flavor was not overpowering and I really enjoyed the drink. The service was friendly and I enjoyed my visit.
Multiple sweetened matcha options here, I tried the iced oat milk ube matcha and it was quite enjoyable. I also had the hot carbon latte later on thàt day and that was my type of drink. Baristas are friendly and knowledgeable and will sometimes include the owner. It can get crowded throughout the day but wait times are bearable. Given that the wifi was reliable, playlist interesting but not annoying, and temperature slightly chilly I would recommend it for remote work. Seating is limited though so be sure to have an alternative spot you can go to.
I recently went with a friend and my baby to Carbon Coffee and we had a good time! We both got the Carbon Matcha with earl grey syrup and it was delicious! The matcha was not bitter but smooth even though I got a small clump of matcha in my latte it was not bitter! I got the chupacabra burrito and it definitely hit the spot, it was very tasty although it took a long time to warm and it was still cold in the middle when I received it. It is a cute spot but has an odd entrance in the back where they closed off their front doors to make space for more tables and chairs. Also a small space so not always guaranteed a place to sit. Overall the food and drink were very tasty and I would love to go back to try their seasonal matcha
The best quality tasting ube pastry ever. HOLY!! also- the mango matcha is a 10/10!! They were out of the h2o and strawberry matcha WHICH WAS WHY I WENT, but I'll just have to go back. The service is so fast and they're so nice. There is plenty of seating, but there is always a line . The blueberry matcha is good too
Carbon Coffee is one of my favorite businesses that opened in 2024. It slaps (as the youngins say). Do I wish I lived right around the corner? Abso-freakin-lutely. Maybe I need to look at property in Aurora. That's HOW GOOD this place is. I'm a coffee snob I'll admit it. I'm also a creature of habit and fairly boring with my drink choices. Hot and iced Americanos are often my go-to when I need to focus on my work. Not here. I've tried just about every seasonal latte and each concoction has blown me away. Crazy, stupid good coffee beverages. They also partner with Banh & Butter Cafe for their pastry case. These are, without question, some of the best pastries in the entire Denver metro. Good god damn, they are incredible! The owner, Benny, is passionate about coffee, matcha, community, vibes, and service. You won't find a more caring coffee shop owner. Whether you're grabbing a quick cup to go or staying awhile, I can't imagine your experience would be anything less than stellar. An absolute gem in Aurora right near the Anschutz campus. Carbon Coffee, thanks for all you do!
Came here on a Sunday morning and didn't realize it was towards the back of the building, luckily plenty of parking. My mom ordered the cortado and she liked it, and it came with water on the side already. I ordered the strictly mango matcha and it did not disappoint. So yum and love the combo.

One of my favorite places to get matcha and sit down and study! They have plenty of options to choose from. If you cannot decide, definitely try anything that has "carbon" in the name. They have good amount of tables but not all have access to an outlet. They get very busy during rush hour and on the weekend, so come early to snag a spot! Their pastries are also very good, you can always find an asian-inspired scone here :) Overall, I highly recommend trying this place especially if you are a matcha lover. The staff & owner are always super friendly! read more

Incredible! I will totally have to go here again. I went here specifically for Mile High Asian Food Week. I got the Tokyo Fog-their take on a London Fog. It's Oolong Tea, Earl Grey Syrup, and a Matcha Foam on top. Holy cow. One of the best drinks I've ever had. It should be noted that I have never really been a huge fan of matcha. However, this drink may have converted me. I will be back again, mark my words. Lol. I also got a Pandan Coconut scone as well. It was huge but went really nicely with my drink. Definitely want to try their Ube scone next time. I got here right at 7 AM, when they open. Parking was easy and the shop was very clean. There aren't a ton of spots to sit down for large groups, but lots for pairs, so I'm not sure I would necessarily count on sitting down here. Its aesthetic in general, is simple and clean. Finally, service was very kind and did an amazing job at making my drink. read more
The wife and I popped in here early on a Sunday morning; it was quiet with no other patrons, just two very nice employees. Small but well utilized space. We chose to "sip in" thus our bevvies were served in real coffee mugs, but to go cups are of course available. We both chose seasonal lattes- Wifey had the Chestnut Cardamom and I had the Bourbon Bells; both were fantastic! Latte art, perfect foam to milk ratio and a harmonized blend of flavors. They offer a variety of milk alternatives, including pistachio milk which I haven't see offered anywhere else. It appears they are masters of matcha and offer quite a variation of this; I've never been a big fan of matcha but I imagine if that's your jam you would want to explore their intriguing offerings such as the Blueberry Lavender Matcha. Cutest coffee shop ever! I got the mango sticky rice and blueberry lavender matcha -- both were as pretty as they were tasty. You can really taste the flavors and the matcha (not watered down). Super sweet staff and just a really good vibe all around. Definitely coming back! read more

First time visiting here and was definitely worth it! Cashiers and baristas were very nice and welcoming. I ordered the mango sticky rice matcha and it was super delicious, definitely a unique drink so i wasnt too sure what to expect but it was so delicious. Hopefully I can stop by here again when visiting denver! read more
We've been to Carbon Coffee twice now in Aurora and wow, what a great coffee shop!! They have a great selection of coffee, tea, kombucha, matcha, chai and a wonderful assortment of pastries from a local pastry spot as well. (If I can remember the name of the place they mentioned, I'll update my review) They also have a menu of seasonal drinks, the maple pecan shaken expresso is literally one of the best cups of coffee I have had in such a long time and I got it both times we went there. The place is very clean and the staff are all so friendly and ready to help with any questions you may have. We met the owner, Benny and ended up talking to him for awhile about everything Aurora including all the coffee shops/restaurants to checkout nearby in the area and beyond. He told us they opened in September this year and so I really hope they take off and continue to do great things! He was such a nice person and I wish him nothing but success. Please go show your support to them over at Carbon Coffee, I know I'll definitely keep going back over there myself.. it's just sooo good! read more

First off, thank you so much for having a free parking lot. It's definitely a motivator to make it out to Carbon Coffee for a drink or a nice place to work. It is very chill and I like that there's a lot of natural light. The baristas are very friendly and kind. I do like that they have a small menu because each drink is made with high quality ingredients. I ordered the matcha (with no sweetener) and I was surprise to see the matcha whisk used to make the drink. Even without sweetener, it wasn't bitter. Very delicious. They did mention that they plan to introduce strawberry matcha and other matcha variety drinks in the future which I will be back to try. read more

Excellent coffee bar, that needs to expand on their food choices. Had a couple coffees and one was a banana milk latte. When I saw their side menu, I knew right away the baristas were Filipinas. Everything was really good! Definitely worth a revisit! read more
I've been back to Carbon coffee twice and tried new drinks. I tried their Banana milk latte (pictured) and really enjoyed the flavors. Petition for more banana flavor though. I also tried their Kinako Hojicha with oat milk. I loved the nuttiness in this drink. Carbon coffee is becoming my go-to spot! read more
Carbon is definitely going to be added to our list for future coffee stops east of Denver! The matcha and coffee is a mix between Filipino and Japanese Influences offering purees, syrups and foams from Ube to blueberry to even banana. It definitely takes a bit of an adventurous palate but it was 100% worth it! The banana latte had a banana sweet cream foam topper with espresso and milk layered underneath. My only qualm is more of a matter of personal preference so I won't dock it a star. The drink comes pretty milk heavy but that's just the nature of the drink because once you mix it blends perfectly together. Plus you can always add another shot of espresso if you're feeling especially tired. My wife had a blueberry puree sitting at the bottom of latte which she said was also delicious. One of my absolute favorite things that I miss from Alabama (shout out June coffee) was their black sesame and date latte. So when I moved to Denver I was on the lookout for something similar, and carbon coffee was selling a limited edition black sesame latte so I had to get my butt over there to try it. It most definitely satiated that craving and exceeded expectations. Both sesame drinks were very good; I wish they sold it year round. The strawberry matcha was surprisingly mild and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. On the other hand the mango sticky rice was very sweet, but had a great flavor all around (would probably just ask for half sweet). The croissant was amazing and would 100% get again. The inside has pretty limited seating, so if you plan to work/sit down there I would get there early (I believe they have free wifi). Staff was super nice and had good suggestions as well. Second time here after first experience through Yelp Elite week. I had to try their Ube latte and it was not disappointing. The first sip was very dreamy and warm, but I didn't taste Ube. It was delicious, but I wish there were more Ube flavor. As of now, I prefer their Matcha latte. Can't wait for them to have Strawberry Matcha and Ube Matcha. Love the location and the simple interior. It's very inviting and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed sitting there, while sipping my Matcha latte and creating some video content. It's definitely a place to get some work done, catch up with a friend or two, and get some good coffee. read more

I came to check out this coffee shop while I was working up here in the north part of Denver. I was here for a Yelp event where my coffee drink and pastry were complementary. I was actually beyond ecstatic to learn the location because it is right in the middle of one of my weekly routes. It's located in the base of a hotel and just across the street from the Children's Hospital, it has a great parking lot with plenty of spaces and the coffee is the best in the area by far. The staff was super friendly when I arrived and made a recommendation for croissant. I will not soon forget. If you get a chance to stop in, please do not skip on the everything croissant. It seems simple enough with everything bagel seasoning on top of a big fluffy croissant, but it was sweet yet salty and met all of my cravings. I stopped in in the middle of my workday, mid morning. It wasn't super busy, but the Wi-Fi was strong, and I was able to update all of my notes and Salesforce that I needed to get through that day. I had a couple people met me there that I was planning an industry event for and they were blown away by their selections too. The shop is brand new, very clean and organized. It was a great place to get work done without any distracting clutter. I was one of two people to begin with working on laptop and may be up to four or five by the time I left. This is the great midday works stop we've all been looking for. My coffee in the photo not only was not only beautifully made, but it was also the perfect balance of sweet and strong. I'm always looking for a latte that won't be too sweet, but won't blow me away with the bitter from the espresso. The staff working made some amazing suggestions and everyone was very pleased. I will definitely be back to try a few more of the things on the coffee and tea menu when I'm working that area in a couple weeks. read more
What a cute place! The location is very convenient, right across the street from the Children's Hospital. There is a front door and a back door which is very convenient! Parking is located in the back and there are plenty of spaces! Their menu is small and basic which leads to every coffee tasting delicious! I ordered a vanilla latte and it was so creamy and smooth! I wanted every single one of their pastries, but I ordered the ham and cheese croissant. The croissant had so many flaky layers that I accidentally made a mess! read more

I wanted to get my Matcha fix and Carbon Coffee delivered!! They had so many options, it was so hard to choose. The staff was patient and friendly and provided with recommendations. The ambiance was modern, clean, and open. Plenty of parking behind the building. We ended up with Mango Sticky Rice matcha latte, Lavender Blueberry Matcha Latte, and a Strawberry Matcha Latte. The Mango sticky Rice matcha latte was very different and refreshing! The bits of black sesame were a nice earthy crunchy each time. The Lavender blueberry and Strawberry matcha latte were also very good! We didn't have the stomach space for the pastries, they look so good! Overall, highly recommend if you want to get your matcha fix! read more

You can see right off the main street which I think is wonderful... when walking in, the ambiance was so urban and modern ... love the simplicity of the place ... The staff was great !!! Benny the owner was there helping me out making suggestions... 10/10 The maple pecan with oat milk , OMFG! Loved it , I should of ordered 2 of them .... Soooooo yummy and sooooo aesthetic. The service here is also super quick! Some of the staff are friendlier than others, but I have never had a bad experience. I have tried the mango sticky rice matcha and ube latte. Both are really good. I prefer the mango sticky rice matcha, the mango flavor is super fresh and goes well with the matcha. The ube latte is good too, I prefer lattes that are slightly more robust in coffee taste and this one was slightly lighter. If you like tastier and lighter lattes I am sure you will like this! They also dont upcharge for alternative milks which is super nice. read more
If you're a fan of different flavors and creative drinks check this place out! Their menu has both coffee and matcha, with some of my favorite twists like Ube and Pandan that set them apart. I had the mango sticky rice latte (yes, it's as dreamy as it sounds) paired with the Pandan coffee cake -- Not pictured: a cozy hojicha latte and a Ube scone that I shared before I could snap a photo. Everything absolutely hit the spot. **Heads up: parking can be a bit tricky. The small lot is shared with other retailers, and I had to wait a bit for a spot to open up. Stumbled on this adorable coffee shop right next to our hotel while visiting Denver, and I'm so glad we did! Not only was my latte made with love, it was made by the sweetest barista with a seriously handsome smile! The vibe was cozy, the coffee was delicious, and it instantly became our favorite little stop on the trip. Can't wait to come back next time we're in town. read more

I've been here twice now and I love it! It's a nice lil coffee shop fight by the hospital. They have 2 large tables and 3 smaller tables and then a bar you can sit along. The staff have always been friendly and nice and the coffee is delicious! Where I think this place really shines is their pastries! I've had the raspberry one and my friend had the sausage onion (any something else) one and it was fantastic! read more

I love Carbon Coffee! The people here are so sweet! The place is very cute but also has plenty of spots to sit down and share a coffee and a treat or one of those delicious burritos! There are also lots of plug ins for your chargers and for you to set up your laptop and get your work on! I just got a mocha latte with oatmilk - for anyone that knows me knows this is my go to and I've been trying them out everywhere and Carbon Coffee does it so well. It's the perfect mix of smooth creamy but not too sweet while being delicious and giving me the kick I want for the day! I got mine to go today also with a bacon burrito hot to go which is currently in my belly. I saw they also had banana chocolate chip bread - so good those are out of boulder ... a great extra snack on the go! They have so many treats and drinks and I look forward to coming here again soon with my foodie friends as well I know it's a big hit with my fellow coffee lovers! Carbon Coffee is THE coffee shop to visit in the area! It's a cozy little nook tucked away on Colfax and conveniently located near CU Hospital. The owner is absolutely charming and has a fierce memory for people's orders. Their baristas are skilled too. Best of all, their alternative milk has no upcharge! Thank you! We were recently here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was nice and quiet, a great spot to do some work or get in some reading. Highly recommended. read more
