She is a kind and friendly person who took the time to explain how to make reservations for the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony that can be scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays. The Yirgacheffe coffee was incredible, so smooth! It is from Ethiopia--the birthplace of coffee. The food menu is vegetarian (no meat served) The noise level was perfect, indoor seating is plentiful (no outdoor seating), and parking is plentiful in the lot in front. In the restroom, the toilet was a bidet. I wish the menu were in a larger font to make it easier to read. I feel coffee shops in general need ample storage to keep supplies and clutter out of sight of customers.

I wish it would have been a bit thicker but all in all it was very scrumptious. For that donut cake alone I would definitely come back.

The spot had been vacant for quite some time but just this morning, I received a text message from Lavender Coffee about their newest location. When I checked it to see where it was, I was shocked to find out that it's the very ex-Caribou location. I got excited so I wasted no time to rush to it. This new location (like the Pearl St location) has so much chicness to it. Very modern. And it's almost like an art gallery at a glance. All those framed art decorations are nicely displayed in one spot on the wall; its interior design is that of a museum. Baked goods are plenty; both sweet and savory kinds. I asked the lady upfront which ones were which. I decided to go with the Turkey kind. For a drink I boringly decided to go with my usual: doppio. I need to be a bit more adventurous to try out something I have never tried before. It's okay; I can always go back to it in a few weeks. By then, I am pretty sure that their exterior signage will be a permanent one. As of this writing, I have not tried my coffee or the pastry so there is more to come in this review. Yet I have no doubt that both of them will be as delicious and wonderful as the ones I had purchased at their Pearl St location.
