I'm impressed just by the pita alone. It's so soft, which I haven't experienced in a pita in a long time if ever. I got the eggplant plate and it just works. The assembly was impressive. Watching them assemble my dish was like watching a ballet, which is exactly what you want in a kitchen crew. I loved the flavors. The texture was spot on. The veggies were fresh. I've never had a bad experience ordering takeout at the restaurant itself. Tonight we made the mistake of ordering via seamless. Not only did the food come over an hour after it was supposed to, the employees who answered the phone laughed when I asked where our food was. She said she'd contact their delivery person and would let us know what was going on. Two minutes later the delivery guy shows up. Aside from the fact that all of the sauces we paid for were not included, the soup that was supposed to come with bread did not, the baklava was criminally small for $2 (like shouldn't have cost more than $1), the side salad for $4 didn't even halfway fill the container, the hummus came with approximately 5 pieces of croutons/bread, and the soup and sandwich were lukewarm at best. Wow! Queen Falafel is located in Bushwick near the Jefferson Street L subway station and House of Yes. They even have a convenient window for when events are going on for House of Yes. It's a tiny little dive serving fresh Mediterranean food including hummus, Falafel, shawarma, and other Middle Eastern platters. The pita bread here is out of this world and always served warm. Prices are a little pricey but great quality food. I particularly love their mint Moroccan iced tea especially during the summer days.Staff is welcoming and always quick. I'm so sad that I can't get out to Bushwick as frequently but definitely will make the trip it's worth it. read more

Wow! My stomach is very happy that this place is within walking distance of my apartment and a block away from the Jefferson Av stop. It's an tiny little Falafel shop attached to House of Yes (an amazing collaboration). It may be small, but it certainly packs a punch. Their menu has your typical falafel shop fare, but without all the grease and grunginess. The shop is light, airy and clean. The front room is where the magic happens, but in the back they've got a small, oblong room that's perfect for gobbling up your food. Be warned that one of the walls is made up of mirrors, so leave your vanity at the door and instead admire your falafel from every angle. My friend ordered the Falafel Sandwich ($7) but I really wanted to try everything so I opted for the Middle Eastern Plate ($12) which includes falafel, hummus, tahini, Arabic salad, roasted eggplant and labne cheese! It also came with the fluffiest, most delicious whole wheat pita. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to finish the whole thing, but it was so good I couldn't help myself. All the elements were made perfectly. This'll definitely be one of the places I go back to a lot, especially since it's next to House of Yes! read more

A bit pricy for the size but they do one of my favorite things for a falafel joint: they mix the fillings evenly so it's not like your first 6 bites are just toppings while you're 2nd six bites are just falafel. Here the even distribution means you get a little bit of everything with each bite. They also have a variety of sauces on the side to spicy or savory things up. The falafel here are great. For 7$ you can get a great falafel sandwich. Pita is great and chewy and the falafel is moist and crispy. They have a bunch of interesting suaces here. Their falafel is definitely a 5 from me, I have eaten here 5 or 6 times, and I must say that it's very consistent. Their french fries are pretty delicious as well. It's a little bit expensive however, you pay for what you get. The only down side here is that seating is limited, and even if you do grab a spot, when people come in, they wait all over you... especially in the colder seasons. I love enjoying my falafel right away, and I would rather eat at the restaurant. Sometimes I have had to eat outside, and in the winter, it sucks. First world problems... Bonus points because it's attached to the House of Yes. Their food is really great - when they dont burn the falafels ;-). Its a bit on the pricey side, but given the high degree of hip, I think it should be expected. However, their service is deplorable. There is a new person working nearly every time I go in (which is at least 10 times over the last few months, probably more). Each person working appears poorly trained and completely frantic (not energy I want in my food). They also have a difficult time remembering some of the most basic and simple requests, and seem to have a bucket of apology at the ready. Very often does the person making the food at the front counter also handle cash and coins and the register without changing gloves. The gloves become pointless when you never ever change them, they just collect germs and other cross contaminants as the worker sticks fingers/hands into the ingredients to put on your plate. The same goes for wipe cloths, and preparation surfaces - the place would fail hard if an unannounced/sting food safety inspection were to occur. There are a lot of other points for the gross factor in here. I almost wish their food wasnt so tasty as it would be easy to never come here again. Given that theyve been burning the falafels nearly every time now, and that Ive always thought the pricing was pretentious, I think my last visit has finally grossed me out for good. read more

The food here is excellent. Fresh ingredients, clean preparation, really tasty hummus. Nice ratio of veggies to falafel balls on the sandwich. Friendly staff and really lovely little location with adorable decor and delicious smells-not your typical greasy falafel joint. Strong hipster vibes. That being said, and I truly hate to be that one person who has a less than stellar review, but this isn't the best falafel I've ever had, and it certainly was not worth $7. This is NYC-you can get the best falafel in the world for $2.50. Prices here are obnoxiously high, for a (slightly better than) run of the mill falafel. For $8.50, I got the falafel sandwich with roasted eggplant (an extra). The sandwich was packed with a bottomless amount of well textured falafel balls, vegetables, and tahini. The highlight is their condiment and sauce section. Schug and Shivka are like relishes, one green and vibrant, and the other acidic and spicy. Tahini is already in there, but the harissa and amba are two other sauces that helps moisten the falafel and also bring a heat to each bite. Be sure to return to the station and fill up on these as you go through the sandwich. The layers off flavor are endless. Definitely a filling sandwich that has become possibly my favorite falafel in the city (along with Taim) and therefore, one of my favorite sandwiches around. read more

Impossible to oversell this place. Best food in Bushwick - fast or otherwise - and best falafel I've had throughout NYC. Everything on the menu is good, with the possible exception of the chilled potato leek soup. The menu rotates, but the falafel sandwich is always available. I'd recommend this if you're on the go, or the middle eastern place if your hungry and want to sit around. If the chicken shawarma is on rotation - seize your good fortune and order it! Then order a side of falafel if it's your first time. The chicken is incredibly succulent, not at all dry. Same with the pitas. I've never had puffier, gooier pita bread. It's amazing. Staff is great. Very friendly. Forgivable downsides: feels expensive, especially 10 minutes down the L from Oasis (which is 2/3 the price). It also takes longer and there isn't exactly waiting room. Don't fall for the comparison though. Oasis (also 5-star) is committed fast Middle Eastern food. They do a damn good plate/sandwich quickly with solid ingredients. But Queen of Falafel is a step above in terms of quality. And keeping up that quality takes more time (and means less pickle-y vegetables in your sandwich). read more

There is a reason this place has five stars- simply amazing! Queen of Falafel is a tad hard to find on google maps since it is part of the House of Yes in bushwick - but don't let this deter you! I ordered the falafel pita sandwich and my friend ordered the falafel platter. The sandwich was only $7 and extremely filling. The restaurant is small and only has 8 chairs total - all seating is on a 3 separate counters that are near the ordering counter or in the room directly adjacent. Lots of people get takeout from here too, though we decided to eat in for the full experience. They have a water cooler with cups available - the water has sliced lemons and mint inside which was a nice touch. The sauces were also amazing- added some slice to my already amazing pita. To get really specific, I especially enjoyed the tomatoes. At such a cheap price they very well could have found tiny diced tomatoes that have no flavor but instead the tomatoes (as seen in the photo) were halved cherry tomatoes, super flavorful. At the risk of completely dating myself, I found out about this place via an impassioned chowhound rec. Thanks, Blumie! Falafel is every bit as good as you and my fellow Yelpers say: Dragged my weaned-on-falafel Israeli husband here who confirmed the raves. We chatted with a charming young guy whom I believe was one of the proprietors, and from our conversation, it seems the menu here is inspired by deeply rooted family tradition. Love that. Also love that the same thought and care that go into the food extends to the housemade condiments, that if memory serves, include Amba (Arabic pickled green mango sauce) and Harissa, (North African hot red pepper paste). Hubby was thrilled to spot Schoug, a Yemeni spicy green chile and cilantro puree he grew up with, and would dollop on everything if I let him. And he did exactly that with the delicious Sabich, a pita sandwich stuffed with fried eggplant and boiled egg, that he was devouring. As others have pointed out, the space is tiny, even with the House of Yes dressing room cum dining area. Why is it that all the best falafel spots do not offer comfortable seating to enjoy a leisurely meal? (Yes, I am referring to you, Kalushkat). And the thing is, good falafel to-go is an oxymoron, becoming soggy in minutes. Alas, I think the moon and the stars are gonna have to collide just right to put me in the right frame of mind to return. Upon entering I was confused that their food was really only to go. But we decided to roll with it. I got the middle eastern combo plate and my wife got a plate with roasted eggplant, tachina, egg and other stuff. We also got some labne and fries. The eggplant was perfectly cooked - smokey and creamy. The thick spongy whole wheat pita was the best pita of any kind I've had anywhere including the Middle East. The hummus was good as were the falafel. Salad was great and all the sauces were spectacular. The pita croutons that came with the labne were really tasty. In short perfect food. The service, food, and ambiance at Queen were fantastic. We sat outdoors for lunch, and tables were spaced far enough apart to ensure privacy and a feeling of safety from COVID. We all loved our meals, and the tahini was the best I'd ever had. The iced mint tea was especially refreshing on a warm day. The Middle Eastern plate offered a delicious variety of flavors that worked together. My husband had a lamb kabob and the lamb was nicely cooked and seasoned; he also thought the tahini sauce was the best he'd ever had. Our daughter had the chicken shawarma plate which she has had before and really enjoyed. Went in here today as I noticed the place a few days ago. Really nice and homely inside, though quite small. Falafel sandwich was delicious, and it was not too dry as commonly seen. Good mix of ingredients and the green cilantro sauce on top just made it even more awesome. To cut it short: This is the best falafel and sabich that you're going to experience for quite a while. This is my review based on the new location as a LUNCH spot. It just doesn't compare to the old location in terms of value and lunch offerings. I used to eat at the old location at least 2-3 times a week because I could get a solid meal for $10 or under but that is no more. I don't mind paying a little more but please at least keep the portions the same. I recently purchased a lentil soup and it came in a smaller container with no bread. I miss the small turkish salad that accompanied just about everything. One of my favorite meals, the Shaksuka platter, is no available to take away. If you go for a dinner I am sure its just great but it has really lost its appeal as a lunch time spot and by the lack of bodies I see there as I pass by around lunch time I think others share my sentiments.
