This restaurant used to be good. Today not so much. The food was subpar, the drinks were undrinkable and the service, let's just call it, lack there of! We went with a medium size group. The server was nonexistent so the host served us. We didn't even get water for the table until we asked. It was a good 15 minutes before we were even talked to. Mind you we were smack in the middle of the room. Server after server walking around us and helping other tables all who arrived after us. There is a full-service bar with a bartender barely capable of making a Shirley Temple for the kids. I ordered a mojito, it was NEON GREEN! The replacement was clear, pure rum. Needless to say that was left untouched. Now the food comes out. Plate by plate in the slowest presentation of plates EVER! Guess what comes out 10 minutes after the adults meals... THE KIDS MEALS. Upon walking in the restaurant, we were greeted with a very disgruntled host. She asked if we made reservations and once we told her we have not made one she let out a huge UGH and walked away. Not the best impression to leave, making us think about leaving and finding a new location but we stayed regardless. They found a table and she yet again complained saying this table was reserved and that they will not have a table because of us. There were multiple parties of guests ordering and waiting for their food. It took forever for a waiter to serve and even longer for the food to come. Everything ordered was DROWNED in sauce to hide the bland flavor of the food cooked. I was very disappointed with my time here and will not be coming back any time soon. read more

This place is a great find. Last night we went for dinner. The food was outstanding. We ordered the Quattro Fromaggio pizza and added shrimp to it. The only thing we were missing was sitting on the streets of Rome! True Italian pizza. We all choose different meals my carbonara was fantastic and my husband soup de peace was so huge and delicious it could easily have fed three people. Our friends didn't have too much to say she was busy enjoying her shrimp and pasta dish. To top it off there was live music, a lovely gentleman accordionists playing happy birthday to two guest who were so happy to have him play, he continued playing until about 9 pm. The music just gives the little restaurant a great ambiance. Food was Great, Pizza was amazing! Music was good and Service was perfect! Well Done Que Pasta you ticked all the boxes. When I asked again wine was brought out by a bus boy. Just the bottle. Not opened and no wine glasses. The worst was the bill. Came to $120. Handed over credit card. My family recently adopted a rescue dog so now we are looking for places we can go that are pet friendly. I found an app called BringFido, but it's is also worth a review here. Que Pasta is dog friendly. They have an outdoor patio. We are learning that patios seem to suit dogs better (my opinion) due to less foot traffic when compared to tables out on the sidewalk. So this part of my review is a positive for pet friendliness! The food is delicious and well prepared. Our 8yo had the calamari appetizer for his meal with some of the bread from the basket. Our 11yo daughter had meat ravioli with vodka sauce. Wife got eggplant ravioli with vodka sauce and shrimp. And I got the classic cavatelli with grilled chicken and broccoli. We also had a pitcher of red sangria. Heron was our server who was very attentive! This family business has been around a long time! Stop in and you won't be disappointed! read more

I have been here several times over the years and this time I had the worst experience I have ever had. I decided to throw a surprise party for my Wife's birthday and chose this restaurant because of my sister's suggestion for the quality of food, and the cost for each person. I called 2 weeks in advance to make the reservation and everything was set. the day before the party, my sister called to verify the reservation, and they said that they had no such reservation under my name, or any name with the 17 people that I had planned the party for. So on short notice they made "accommodations." I don't really believe accommodations is the appropriate term for something that had been booked 2 weeks in advance, but that's the term they used. They kept calling me while I was home with my wife to confirm my sister's reservation, but I had to keep declining the call as I told them that it was a suprise party. Finally, the day of the party arrived and my friend and sister showed up early to setup for the party, which was in a room with a different party, but on such notice this was not an issue. My friend purchased confetti to spread on the table, but they wouldn't let him spread it; fine... I get it, they don't want to clean up. They set the menu up, which was custom printed, and the table looked nice. I arrived with my wife and children and said "Reservation for Dominic" and the matradee said. "Dominic? I don't know Dominic. Then I said "I think we have a table in the back." Oh yeah, Dominic," was her response. Yeah, the Dominic you forgot about... That Dominic. My wife and I arrived and she was shocked to see so many people there for her birthday. They started to serve the beverages, which were pitchers of soda. Still OK. but then we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited... ok, you probably get the idea. They then took our order, almost an hour and a half after our arrival, which was later than the rest of the party. I ended up having to go back to the matradee and tell her that the service sucked. In plain English, we were ignored. It took several attempts to get wine, a refill of any drink, bread, our food, not to mention the cake we brought. Her reply to me was, "Well, what do you want?" SERVICE, what do you think I want. I am paying hundreds of dollars for your mediocre food, I at least want service. I don't want to wait for anything. It's not like I am asking for a handy under the table, but I would have liked to see the waiter every few minutes. Hey Que Pasta, if you're reading this, let me give you a bit of advice... Service is key. I am in the service industry and would never ignore my customers like this otherwise I wouldn't be where I am today. For the first time imorderes d the margherita pizza at que pasta. It is the best pizza ive ever had. The crust is nice and crispy. If you like a lot of tomatoes this puzza is for yoy. The tomatoes ate abundant and taste like they just picked them!! They also have new rolls made on the premises with pieces of tomato. If I could give 0 stars I would. We have been going to Que Pasta for quite a few years and always had lovely meals. However, tonight was beyond AWFUL. It started when my brother called to make reservations and was told we didn't need one. We got to the restaurant and they asked if we had a reservation....What? We had 5 people and a baby and they tried to put us in a booth for 4 and we declined, so we waited for a table, not a problem. We waited almost 45 minutes before finally being seated. Took almost 20 minutes for a waitress to come over and waited almost 40 minutes for appetizers. The manager comped our appetizers, at MY insistence but it didn't get better. It took almost 3 hours for us to eat, totally unacceptable. I spoke to the owner on the way out and she was beyond rude! I will NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN! Came here for a wedding recently and it was nice. They rented out the hall in the back of the location and had a buffet style set up. The staff here was good but the bar tender in the back got easily over whelmed. It would help to have another bar tender working during a large party such as a wedding. The food was very good, we had penne vodka, baked ziti, chicken francese, chicken parm, roasted potatoes and vegetables, along with two different salads that were really tasty. The servers were very attentive and never left a dirty plate on the table. Our drinks were always filled and the location was clean. The entrance is located at the front of the building which can be a little confusing to people coming for a party with there being about three different doors around the building. I would like to come back and have dinner here because I've heard good things and with the sampling of food that I had I would agree their food is very good. read more

I did not read the yelp reviews when I purchased the groupon, but did read them before we went to the restaurant out of curiosity. The reviews below may have had a bad time but honestly there were no issues at all. Plenty of parking, waitress was super attentive, and food was so delicious!!! We will definitely be back. Que Pasta has been around for years! My family and I have thrown numerous parties here! Their food is delicious and their prices are reasonable! They have recently added a bar, so it is no longer a BYOB, but, like I said, their prices are pretty reasonable. Their portions, are HUGE so be prepared to have left overs as well! On our last visit, I built my own pasta. You pick your type of pasta, your sauce and if you'd like to add protein (chicken, shrimp, etc) to it. I opted for the fettuccine and creamy pesto, with some shrimp. Pasta was cook perfect, el dente, the sauce was creamy, and the shrimp were large, fresh and well cooked! My husband got the steak, also cooked perfectly! For apps, we split the artichokes! Make sure you ask for extra bread, because the sauce the artichokes come in, is heavenly!! Ordered a chicken parm sandwich and a steak salad w/romaine, gargonzola and ranch dressing to go. price is ok, but not dirt cheap. The salad was not bad. Steak was tender, but the salad was pretty dry.. not enough dressing and the dressing had no flavor so all in all a kinda bland salad. The chicken parm was not bad. They gave us some free pasta salad.. which I was kinda happy about since I didn't end up ordering a pasta dish and I wanted to see how it was, being the place was called que pasta... worst pasta I've had..........dry.. gross tasting, not appetizing........... Place looked slightly dingy too.. lil worn down.......... All in all, my expectations of the place were met.. i wasn't impressed by it. I've been going to this place since I was a kid. Good local spot for quality Italian American food and BYOB is always a plus. As I've learned over the years some dishes are better than others but overall my belly has always left happy. The Arriabiata sauce is a personal fav when I'm in the mood for pasta and the salads are always fresh and filling. (homemade balsamic vinaigrette is delish) I am not a big fan of their lasagna or meatballs. Quepasta is good for groups of all sizes for either dining in or take out. I do think they could use a bit of a facelift, the decor has been exactly the same since they opened when I was 7. read more

Shocked! Went for lunch with a friend. Got a chicken pasta and chicken sandwich to share. The chicken in the sandwich was both rubbery and under cooked and the chicken in the pasta had METAL inside of it which my friend almost choked on... pretty sure it was a staple though they claimed it was metal from a dish scrubber... which is also gross... The server did his best to apologize and offered to bring out other food for us but the manager did not bother to come out to say sorry... what a shame. UPDATED: In response to the story below from the restaurant: I think you have me mixed up with someone else. You were not my server. (Please note: my server was perfectly polite.) The server I had was young and indicated that the manager directed him to say that what we found embedded in the chicken was not a staple and that it was from a METALLIC scrubber. I then noted that I found it odd that the manager (you) did not come out to apologize, so I know it was not you who served our table that day. And since you are saying you are serving food that is contaminated by scrubbers used for washing dishes, I'm pretty sure that is a larger problem that can be directed to the health department. I've been coming here for a little over a year now and have definitely seen a decline in the quality of service since I first started going. The food is always delicious so it pains me to give only 2 stars but the service is just so awful lately. The staff has not been knowledgeable about most of the questions we asked. For example we thought the dinner entrees came with a small side salad, and our waitress left for 10 minutes to get the answer! Then she brings out four side salads, and the owner comes out and says it was a mistake but we can eat two of the salads! What the hell are they going to do with two tiny side salads brought back to the kitchen?? Is losing the $0.25 that a salad costs them worth the inhospitable customer service? I hope they didn't try to reserve them. Another example is the waiter was trying to give someone chicken parm when they ordered chicken marsala. Those two dishes look COMPLETELY different and the waiter was literally arguing that the chicken parm was chicken marsala. are you kidding me?? those are the two most basic italian dishes. It was so infuriating. Like i said, the food is great but the service stinks. Also it used to be BYOB but now they have a liquor license. Driven by this place for years, always full parking lot so I had to try it. I was very impressed how nice the people are as soon as you walk in. The waiter was right there as soon as we got seated to take our drink order but gave us plenty of time to look over their menu. Being our first time there we took a little longer. Hey guess what ...they took a special request for our entree and it was excellent...so nice. My friend had the special ravioli and I had the Chicken Parm that I asked for Angel Hair pasta and Vodka sauce over everything....NO PROBLEM...it was GREAT, the waiter brought cheese to our table which was nice after so many experiences at other places not doing this. Portions are good and the chicken was so tender I could cut it with a fork. The only slight problem I had was the waiter didn't ask if we wanted any thing else or if we wanted the check yet..... I was with a friend whom I hadn't seen in quite some time so we wanted to have another glass of wine and chat. Pet peeve is putting the check down without asking if we want it but other than that we had a really nice time. We weren't pushed out and were able to relax and chat. It had separated chunks in it which I could tell were egg meaning they used a full egg instead of just yolk. No flavor at all just straight oil. Que Pasta is the perfect event location. Excellent service from planning to payment. Events are at a great price for North Jersey and the amount of food is beyond expectations. I hosted a bridal shower here and we chose the pesto pasta, eggplant parm, penne vodka, roasted potatoes, bruschetta, two salads and chicken florentina. Every dish was spot on. They even brought out containers for leftovers. Tea and coffee was served with dessert (which we brought) and regular and diet coke were included. I hadn't been to Que Pasta in a quite a few months. The quality of the food has improved, the flavor is much more authentic, and you can really taste that the food has more thought and time behind it. The service remains great, as do the prices! Though the menus on the website remain something of a disaster, they have really streamlined the menu you get in the restaurant. Great, traditional Italian fare. The Italian side of my family loves to come here for parties & group dinners. The other night, I had one of the specials - seafood ravioli - with arrabiatta source. The waitress warned it be spicy and when I seemed hesitant, she noted she could tell the chef to make it mild. It was great. My cousin had the ravioli sampler and my mom had the pumpkin gnocchi. Very disappointing to say the least. Ordered apps they were pretty good so i thought i may get a decent pasta dinner. My wife and I ordered two different pastas one having certain ingredients one having a different sauce and different ingredients.... The came to the table exactly the same? Questioned the waiter and he lied saying they were similar but the items were ground up you wouldnt be able to tell? Were arent monkeys we know whats the same and not honestly. Long story short after a total let down from the management who argued they finally admitted to giving us the same thing! Then said ill make up the difference and took off one drink! Started with their sampler platter which contained over cooked calamari, frozen mozzarella sticks, and one eggplant rollatini. Forgettable. I ordered their "large" combo platter: lasagna, chicken Parmesan, and penne ala vodka. The ricotta cheese in the lasagna, was cold and coagulated and had an overdose of bland chopped meat. I am a bridesmaid in my friends wedding and the other bridesmaids and I decided to have the Bridal Shower here. The room was nice and fit the small amount of people, 22, that we had. Only thing was if you walked into the front of the building you couldn't get to the room from there. You had to walk outside and come through the side door. We did have our own bathroom to access which was nice. The guy we had running the shower was very nice. The food was so good! We had choices for the buffet and we went with eggplant parm, some chicken dish with cheese tomatoes garlic and artichoke, penne vodka, Liguori in pesto sauce, and two salads. Oh also served were regular bread for salads, bruschetta and potatoes in oil and garlic. I didn't have the eggplant parm but I had everything else, TWICE!!! Lol. The chicken dish, penne vodka, potatoes and salad with balsamic were absolutely delicious. So was the bruschetta. The linguini in pesto was ok. The pasta was a little dry and sticky but the pesto was a good flavor. There was a lot of food left because he brought out a second tray of everything so we pretty much all brought home leftovers. So I ate leftovers for the next 2-3 days Definitely recommend for parties and would like to try for dinner sometime when I'm up in the area! read more

I had a party for my daughters bridal shower. I was disappointed in the service I received.First there definitely wasn't enough food for 38 people.. It was a buffet with beer wine soda and fresh bread which we never got the bread and tea and coffee. My party was from 1 to 5 and seem to be rushed to get done. Was charge full price for a three-year-old and two 8-year-old children. I payed cash for the party and my deposit and tax was not deducted from the bill. The waitress gave me a hard time when I questioned her about the bill. I also asked her for a receipt and she refused to give me one. The owner didn't even come over and resolve the problem. The chicken is done nicely and there are mozzarella and roasted red peppers, along with the tasty balsamic dressing. I can't just judge a place based on only a salad though...so on to the other food...I happened to try my sister's salmon dish which was way too oily. I also tried a bite of the risotto of the day. I could eat endless amounts of their pastas. They give you a gallon of pasta for every dish complemented by warm homemade rolls to sop up any errant sauce. It is the place you want to be if you are in need of some serious comfort food. You can buy pasta and/or sauce and eat at home. But why do the dishes? Good for groups, and parties. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are very generous. I ordered the ravioli sampler with marinara sauce and another coworker ordered the whole wheat penne with a bolognese sauce. The ravioli sampler tasted good, but not amazing. I was informed that the penne with bolognese was "very good".
