For the service im sure homemade pasta tastes better elsewhere. the servers were nice but not the nicest, and food was really just ok. I hadn't eaten at Que Pasta since Marcch 2010 and was unsure how I felt about dining here after reading some of the reviews. Four of us ate there last night and the food was very good. I always enjoy complimentary bread and butter and the salad misto was fresh, tasty, and had a nice portion size. My tablemates ordered the appetizer sampler and the buffalo calamari, which they raved about and finished every single piece. For dinner, I had the spinach ravioli in pink vodka sauce. They were al dente (my favorite!) and came with enough to fill a big eater. Some minor errors in service, but our waiter was gracious and personable and more than made up for it. Aside from the food, you are not greeted when you walk in the door. This is a major turn off and is the sole reason I am not giving them 5 stars. We waited for at least 5 minutes mingling about, looking in at the dining room and the fish tank, before someone came out and showed us to a table. This is going to be a difficult review to write. I went here for an event, so the food was buffet style. They had chicken parm, chicken marsala, penne and vodka sauce, roasted potato and a few other things. I liked their Caesar salad, that was a good start. However, after trying a few of the items offered all I heard was Gordon Ramsay screaming in my head "It's effing bland!" I will give them this though...the pasta was fantastic, for having to make so much and on the spot, they really did a good job. I'm not a fan of BYOB, that's just my personal upbringing. Came here for Easter dinner with family and found this place not to be a true authentic Italian restaurant. Poorly managed. NY sirloin steak came out severely undercooked and not even a sirloin cut of meat. Multiple dishes on the menu were oddly unavailable because they were 'out'. Would never dine here again. In years past, this was a five star place hands down. They made the bread and pasta. It made for a wait, but the food was divine and we used to come here often for family dinners with largish groups. It was byob at the time. Now they sell. The sauce is still decent but the pasta is not made by hand on site to my palate (honed by Italian aunts). The bread comes warm, but is not the same. It is still a nice place but if you have not been here in a while... It is not the same and it is not a change for the better sadly. Not a huge step down but a step down nonetheless. read more

Been here twice so far this year and both times were very pleasant and nice. The food is great. The staff is very attentive and friendly. During one of the visits, there was a baby shower taking place in one of their rooms and I was surprised that the event there did not interfere with our service. That was a major plus. Parking is definitely a little tight but there is plenty of room to find parking in the surrounding area, so that wasn't a big deal. Was a little let down with the dessert we chose, it was just okay and kind of tasted right of the box (I knew I should've chosen something Italian as a dessert from an "Italian restaurant" duh! lol ) But nothing to the point that would offset what a great restaurant it is. Came here for a surprise 60th birthday party, the waitress was attentive, but she disappeared a few times, the corkscrew they gave us was defective but we made due. The food was hot even in Buffet form. It was a great way to have a small party without having the hassle of holding it at your house. It's BYO so we stocked up on Wines and beer and they had ample ice bins for us. The salads were scrumptious, one was served with their home made balsamic vinaigrette, I really liked the cheesyness of the baked ziti. Your standard Italianerican food done very well. read more

But in a COVID-19 world when you're packing 69 people in your restaurant 3 feet apart with a big birthday party going on in the back on Saturday, January 23 . Your way out of line. You ran out of entrées you ran out of dessert. Other restaurants are complying and suffering while you were obviously not. I had anxiety through my meal got up and left. I am giving three stars because i didn't really have a bad experience but i didn't have this over the top, wow i want to go back. Basically we went for a party, it was held in the back room. The establishment wasn't anything too fancy, just simple. The Service wasn't anything too amazing either, and lastly neither was the food. Since it was a party, I got a tasting of pretty much the basics. I'm Italian and i felt everything was flavorless except the chicken parm! The vodka sauce for the penne vodka was so bland. I can't believe I have never written a review for this place. It's withing walking distance from my house. It's pretty standard Italian food, but IMO the real stand-outs are the risotto balls and the QP baked special. Can't order food here without getting the risotto balls as an appetizer! The pasta is fresh and the sauces are really tasty. Some of the chicken dishes can be a little dry, but over-cooked is better than under-cooked. The sandwiches, which are on the take-out menu, are really good too. Take-out is a really good option here BTW. Service is usually pretty good. They host parties though, so it can be hit or miss. It's not the best Italian I've ever had, but it is pretty solid. It makes for good comfort food. read more

I've been there with a group of friends and they let us get a long table in the back of the restaurant to be more private. The waiters were very nice and offered us a quick service all the time. The pizza is something that I can definitely give thumbs up. Very fresh and delicious! This place is great for casual dining. The food is always good, and the prices are even better for such excellent food. I usually get the penne vodka or some sort of spinach ravioli in alfredo sauce, and I couldn't be happier. Que Pasta is also BYO, another plus. There is nothing like sipping on your favorite wine while eating delicious Italian food. The waiters are adorable and attentive also. The restaurant gets crowded on weekend nights, so it would be best to make a reservation. But the most I've ever had to wait is a half hour. My family had lunch there on Easter Sunday. We had reservations for 30 people. We made the reservations more then 4 weeks in advance. The manager had us choose 5 menu items before hand, to limit the menu options. Sadly even though we had reservations AND a limited menu, the restaurant still was not able to handle our table. They were under staffed and disorganized. We had to go to the bar and get our own drinks. It took well over an hour for our food to come out and 1 person in our party never got her food. We did not ask them to prepare the missing meal, since we did not want to potentially wait another hour. At the time of booking, the manager assured us that they would be able to split out bill by family with no issues (as they have done in the past). I sat and split the bill for the waitress and it still took almost an hour to get it situated. We were over charged, which was rectified, but just another issue. This is very disappointing since we have been there several times before with a large party and have never had an issue. Unfortunately, we wont be back. We are always a party of at least 15 and on holidays 30+ ... and clearly Que Pasta can't handle large parties. read more

Wow! Had a holiday party here and the service was TOP NOTCH. Over 50 people and everything went on without a hitch. Amazing amazing service. The staff here is so professional, efficient, and wonderful. Food was replenished immediately, plates were cleared immediately. Everything was perfect. You cannot beat the price either. BEWARE! My family had a birthday party (18 people including adults and 3 children) for my 87 year old grandmother on 2/21/10. The food was great, however at 2 AM Tuesday 2/23/10, I woke up out of a sound sleep with the chills, my head spinng and had to vomit. I spent the rest of the night in and out of the bathroom vomiting. I received a call later that morning from my Aunt asking if myself or my husband got sick. It turns out that almost the entire family (15 of us) woke up between 2 AM and 3 AM with the same symptoms. My grandmother 87, fell in the middle of the night 4x as she was trying to make her way to the bathroom and my cousin who is 16 weeks pregnant passed out and collapsed. My Aunt called the restaurant to complain, and they said that it had to be from outside food. (This was not the case because not everyone ate the birthday cake or cookies). We also called the Board of Health and they said it sounds like it was a Norovirus. I have detailed what a Norovirus is for those who do not know. A Norovirus - Noroviruses belong to a family of viruses that cause the "stomach flu." Noroviruses are also called Norwalk-like viruses and caliciviruses. Stomach flu is also called gastroenteritis, food infection, food poisoning, and acute nonbacterial gastroenteritis. What causes infection with noroviruses? - Noroviruses generally spread through contaminated water and foods, although they can also pass from person to person. You may become infected by: Eating food or drinking liquids that are contaminated with norovirus. Shellfish and salad ingredients are the foods most often infected with the viruses. Food other than shellfish may be contaminated by food handlers. Touching surfaces or objects contaminated with norovirus, and then placing your hand in your mouth. Having direct contact with someone who is infected. For example, if you are a caregiver or share foods or utensils with someone who is ill, you may become infected. What are the symptoms - The symptoms of gastroenteritis caused by the noroviruses include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Diarrhea and vomiting can cause dehydration. You may have a headache and fever of less than 100F. A mild and brief illness usually develops 24 to 48 hours after you eat or drink the contaminated food or water and lasts for 24 to 60 hours. Most people are rarely very sick or have to go to the hospital. I URGE EVERYONE TO BEWARE!!! read more

I've wanted to try this place for a while, it's around the corner from me so it makes it super convenient. I took all 3 of my children there for a Monday night dinner. I read right in the menu table side that they served and were in fact very proud of their home made pasta. I've proceeded to order 4 pasta dishes. The penne we were served was overcooked and half of it was burned. That wasn't the biggest problem. In fact the biggest problem, or I should say one of, was the meatballs that they brought for my four year old daughter which happened to have three raw eggshells in the meat. When asking he waitress about it, I got a very weird apology and in turn, proceeded to ask for the check. Upon getting the check I've noticed that it was in fact full price (even for the eggshells) I asked for the manager and received a very strange response ( he doesn't want to speak to you) the waitress said. I comely but of course not without being she'll shocked said to her that I want to speak to him. He never showed up and the waitress came back shaking her head with a discounted check ( 9 bucks less) I went up to the front and comely asked to speak to the manager there and I was ignored by someone named willie for about 10 min. At that point I left I never do this and I mean ever, but this place deserves to be smeared with crap though all the social media outlets that I am a part off. I would never want anyone to have this kinda of an experience when they go out and spend money. Que pasta, you really made me and family have a terrible evening. I have been coming here for years, I tend to usually do take out. Besides a typical take out menu they also offer an assortment of sauces and fresh made pastas. Last week I came in for a small take out order and the owner seemed to have trouble charging my credit card. He ended up swiping it three times but assured it only charged once. I was skeptical. He had trouble printing a receipt out that night. A day later, my bank account confirms three separate pending charges from que pasta. I give them a call. I speak to the owner who processed my order that night. He took down my number and said he would look into it and give me a call back I never got a call back. Fast forward about a full week to this past Sunday 4/22/12. I had placed an order over the phone for pick up. When I stop in to pick the order up I explain that money is owed to me for charging my card three times for one charge. The older manager/owner looked at me as if I spoke a foreign tongue ad had three heads and in such disbelief that it was impossible for this to happen. I presented her with a view to my wells Fargo account online which shows three consecutive charges with three separate transaction numbers. I asked to please call her POS provider and verify my credit card number through them and they will instantly find the charges to my card. Well she decided to first send about 20 minutes going through receipts from the day, which was pointless since she can get the info verified directly from the pos company instantly. I was getting impatient as I would need to pay for my takeout which was now sitting around 40 minutes since it was made and being delayed by this entire fiasco caused by que pasta. The owner then yelled at me saying I should not Make a big deal since it was only $12.75 of incorrect charges to my card. It was very insulting. They mess up nd then treat me as if I was then one who screwed up. After 45 minutes of nonsense she finally accepted that they messed up and I was right. She did not even have the courtesy to give me fresh food after my meal had been sitting around for almost an hour due to their incompetence. I get to my house to find my chicken parm now is only one breast. Lol so now they have shrunken my order down in half. 2 weeks ago it was two breasts. Now only one. After they took my bag during all this.and give it back. Very damn shady to say the least. I am appauled this is how they would treat a customer ESP one that has become a regular. Great food! Was traveling through town and wanted some authentic pasta and my appetite was fully satisfied. They have a great selection which made it hard to make a choice. Ordered the gnocchi with sausage, broccoli rabe and sundried tomatoes and it was delicious. Plus it was a very generous portion too and I ate the entire dish as I did not want to leave anything untouched. While waiting for the order I had a nice conversation with the owner (I did not get his name) and he made me feel comfortable and like I was part of the family. I used to go here a lot when I lived in saddle brook a few years ago..They always had fresh pasta and great sauces...I remember the lasagna dishes being particularly tasty...The dishes were also HUGE...I have heard lately through the grapevine that the place was going downhill lately though and decided to check it out...So I went there two Fridays ago for lunch..I got a grilled chicken salad which was good except the lettuce had a real earthy taste kind of well, like dirt...No bueno , nobody wants to take a nice big taste of juicy chicken and some dirt...So that was a no.. The tap water tasted kind of gross as well even with some lemon in it..Which sucks bc I am a big water drinker..My friend got a shrimp and crab ravioli that I tried a bite of and it just really didn't have too much taste to me...All in all I think they probably have some good stuff still but this trip just didn't convince me that Que Pasta was giving its all...I hope it gets better bc they used to have some really yummy stuff :-( read more

Well,a nice enough looking place, but.. we asked our waiter about the wines, his reply was,"I am the worst person to ask about wine. I'm only 20". When we asked who the BEST person was to ask about their wines, he pointed across the room to the bartender. No mention that I would have someone help you, and so, the mood was set for the evening. Then, since we weren't ready to order, out waiter promptly disappeared for about 15 minutes, later in the evening to apologize saying he had to make about 15 desserts in a row. My lady ordered their signature dish: ravioli (no meat or pumpkin). She was really craving eggplant ravioli as part of the dish. Guess what, no eggplant ravioli included. When she told the waiter,he said there should be eggplant raviolis in the dish. When she cut open all the raviolis, revealing no eggplant varieties, the waiter said, "do you mind if I take the dish back to the kitchen to PROVE their was no ravioli. Really? So he finally comes back and said they made a mistake and will give you some with eggplant. He took the dish and returned later with some eggplant ravioli ADDED to the original dish. Not a completely remade dish. Really... again. My dish, Chicken Foresto had a tough slab of chicken... could hardly cut it with a serrated knife. Did I mention the House Pinot Grigio sucked and had to be sent back . Finally we had ordered a small Caesar salad and got charged for a large. The entire experience was a cluster f***.
