    Chorizo lasagna
    Scarlett M.

I saw this pop up on Facebook and have been wanting to try them for a couple months now. I got an elite perk for free appetizer, which prompted me to finally go find them at Barrel Proof (normally they'd be at Twelve Mile Limit). I got the octopus croquetas and the chorizo lasagna. The appetizer was like hush puppies with chunks of octopus inside. They were tasty, and the octopus wasn't chewy. It came with a little cup of dressing, which is a great compliment to the dish, though I did have to pour it on my food since the cup was too small to dip anything in. The chorizo lasagna was awesome. Very flavorful. It also had a noticeable kick of spice/heat that I quite enjoyed, but if you're not a fond of spicy food then you might want to pick a different option. Overall, a very cool pop-up.

I received this spicy cheesy shrimp appetizer as a free perk with Yelp Elite! This was the most spicy food I have ever tried, I honestly did not expect that much flavor and spice. When things are truly authentic it will be most flavorful, I should have know. The kitchen is its own separate entity from the actual bar so the name on the building is not Que Pasta Nola, it stated something else I can't remember. However the staff was very nice and the food was good, I will return but order something less spicy lol. They do not have a website and the an updated menu is not located online so the actual name of this dish is not spicy cheesy shrimp but something with a little more flare.

    Pupusa sandwich, amazing!!
    Emily V.

Wow!! This popup is soooo good. I got a yelp Elite perk that let me try the octopus croquetas. They were perfectly fried and so flavorful! I also tried the pupusa sandwich. I did not realize the sandwich would include two pupusas as buns and it was a delightful surprise when I realized they were stuffed with cheese!! So goood!! I also really enjoyed the aioli on the side. The pupusa sandwich was very filling and it came with yucca (I believe) on the side, unless you are super hungry you might consider splitting it! You should definitely follow them on instagram because they regularly have a lot of other amazing looking specials that I also definitely want to try! So glad I was finally able to try this popup and I hope they have a brick and mortar one day!

Waffle Sandwich: churro waffle buns, Cuban-style brisket, ham croquetas, fried eggs, fried queso, bacon + maple syrup

Friggin delicious. Que Pasta Nola makes the kinda food that brings folks together. A few weeks ago I was going through my IG stories and saw a delicious looking waffle breakfast sandwich with a churro bun that one of my followers reposted from Que Pasta. When I saw they would be at 12 Mile Limit, I slipped on my shoes and headed to Mid City to see if this sammich was really bout that action. I winded up sitting next to a woman who also ordered the sandwich for the first time and was so excited to see how it would be. We both got our sandwiches at the same time and even though we mentioned we'd take them home, we sat and ate them in the courtyard, oohing and ahhing with each bite. Needless to say, we were both blown away. Getting to know the owner of this pop-up more though Yelp and IG has been great as I always love to see the masterminds behind some of the best food in my city. Cheers to Que Pasta Nola!

    Guava hot wings!
    Chassidy S.

Let me start off by saying that I'm a chicken wing snob. I'm extremely picky when it comes to all things chicken. Before I tried the guava hot wings from Que Pasta, I had no idea that there was such thing as guava hot wings. The guava hot sauce on these wings is so amazing that I didn't want to dip the wings in the dipping sauce, BUT WHEN I DID Apparently, they make the guava hot sauce from scratch and the dipping sauce too. These sauces compliment each other so well. I cannot wait to try the other things on the menu here!

Hands down one of my favorite places ever. I eat from here at least 2x a month and it never disappoints. Amanda's Cuban & Honduran roots shine through every dish in ridiculously creative and delicious ways!!

    Pupusa sammie!

Oh my gosh! Yum yum yum! I saw Que Pasta start a pop up at Barrel Proof and I had to go being since it's so close to me. I really wanted everything they had on the menu but I was guided into ordering the pupusa sandwich which is pupusa buns stuffed with mozzarella and jalapeños with Cuban style brisket and pickled onions, ancho chili, salsa verde, cilantro, and mojo aioli! Can you say delish!? So excited to try some more like the octopus croquetas and loaded yuca fritas!!!! They will be at Barrel Proof Wednesday-Friday 4-10 and at Manolito Mondays 4-9! Follow their IG page for more updates to the menu!

You know how it goes... you live somewhere and keep meaning to try a place and suddenly it's like 8 years later and here we are. Exquisite everything... atmosphere, service, cocktails and food. Aperitivo-style dinners (aka girl dinners?) are my favorite. I love a good grazing. We had the seasoned chickpeas which are fried and crunchy but not dry like baked or dried chickpeas. These are the irresistible kind, the melt-in-your-mouth with salty umami goodness kind. The saltines that come with the black bean hummus are seasoned in the same way, fried, I suspect, but I'm not mad about that. I really couldn't stop eating these and don't get me started on the perfect fries. Drinks, ah the drinks. As much as I wanted one of those frozens, with dropping temps outside, I went for a gorgeous Flor de Jamaica. Think citrus-forward, not heavily boozy (vodka). I followed up with the Mary Pickford, which has pineapple juice and normally I would fear for an overly sweet drink but this is not that. It's more on the tangy/sour side of the spectrum. Both drinks are perfectly light and refreshing. It all felt like the indulgence I needed after a frigid week. After dining upstairs, which makes you feel like you're in a chic loft space, we peeked into the courtyard. I cannot wait to return and pretend that I'm in Havana, sipping on an expertly-crafted frozen drink. It really doesn't get any better than this.

It was busy at lunchtime, but it gave us time to reflect on the hard work that led to two of my daughters matching in great residency programs. Two years ago, we also celebrated another amazing match day with a friend who flew in from San Francisco to help our family celebrate. I had the San Pedro Maduro. A deep fried plantain filled with veggies, black beans, avocados, crema and queso. I had mine with chicken. One of my daughters did hers with more veggies. Absolutely delicious! My family ordered a wide variety of papusas and tacos. Definitely add an agua Fresca. Loved the horchata, but the favorite was the moracuya. Blackberry and passion fruit. So refreshing and delicious.
