We needed a custom screen door made. We went to this shop. They insisted that we are not qualified to measure the opening correctly. We agreed to pay them $65 to come and measure the opening. The guy who came out to measure claimed to have 30 years of experience. When the door arrived, it was 2 inches too short and 2 inches too narrow. Pictures are attached, you be the judge. When we reported this problem to Quality Windows, the manager there started immediately yelling that we don't know how to install the door. No matter how you install the door, a 30x76 inch door can NOT cover a 33x79 inch opening. It's not an issue of installation, it's an issue with the moron who measured the opening in the first place. Very dishonest business and a very dishonest and rude manager, Espy Alvarez. This business should NOT be in business. They might do OK work, but when they make mistakes, it's the customers fault and the customer's job to pay for it. read more

I had to replace a screen door that my dog ran though. They were quick and did a great job. My dog is seriously stupid and has ran through the screen door about 4 times so I've purchased several screen doors from them. This last time they recommended a pet guard. Man I wish they had told me about that before. She was running through them cause she couldn't see them! But with the guard on it she can see it and hasn't had any issues. The problem is she can open the door so this one is mangled all to hell but it's lasted well Over a year. I'm due for another screen and I'll definitely be going back to them for a replacement. read more

Our 93-year-old home had the original wood framed, single pane windows when we bought it 17 years ago. We could only afford 1/2 of them 10 years ago but needed the rest replaced. Quality Windows provided a free estimate and warned us that supply lines had long backlogs of up to 12 weeks. They exceeded our expectations due in large part to Maham, a manager there, but the installers, Ismael and Pedro, were pretty great too. Maham made calls to her contacts at the production site to push my delivery and install date. In fact she called me to ask if they could install early! I said "of course!" My windows look so nice! We made an appointment to have a slider repaired. They didn't show up, and upon calling them we talked with a gentleman that simply would not listen. He kept saying they had been out and the hinges needed to replaced. A slider doesn't have hinges. The phone call took longer than the repair which we ended up having done by another company. As an aside he did finally find the appointment in their system but he said it was over ridden. I would STRONGLY recommend using another company. read more

The Milgard windows we bought are such an improvement to our home. They slide so nice, look beautiful and add value. They were installed during warm weather and what a difference. Now that it's cooled off we can feel the warmth too. The installation crew did an outstanding job. You will have to hire someone to clean them so don't expect that as part of the installation. Brought my broken window in to the shop to get replaced. Not only did they fix it super quick, but their customer service was amazing. They helped me carry the window into the shop from my van, gave my toddler a chair to sit in while we were talking, and brought my window back out to my van when the repair was complete, all without me having to ask. This is a review about their Oxnard location. However, based on their website, it's the same business with multiple locations, so I am leaving the review on both businesses. We ordered a custom screen door from Quality Windows and Doors. They insisted that their technician needs to come out and measure the opening at the cost of $65. We agreed. The technician came out and measured the door incorrectly. The technician measured the inside frame rather than the outside frame. This is wrong by ALL industry standards, and causes the screen door to cut into the door passageway. When we contacted the company about this, their position has gradually shifted: 1. First they claimed it's because we don't know how to install it. 2. Second, once I sent them pictures of the door not fitting at all, they claimed that we were trying to trick them by holding it next to a different door opening. 3. Once I made a video showing them the door opening and how the door didn't fit, they instantly changed their position to saying that it's supposed to fit into the door frame and cut a portion of the door off, that's just normal. We consulted with a contractor friend of ours who has actual 30 years experience, not just claimed 30 years experience, and this is a) not at ALL needed, and b) not at ALL standard, especially in a laundry room where the width of the door is critical to be able to pass laundry equipment through said door. Even if installing the door into the inner door frame was acceptable, which it is NOT for the reasons stated above, the door it self doesn't FIT into the space because it hits the handle of the main door. It simply CANNOT be installed that close to the main door. Again, a person with actual 30 years of experience, as claimed by the companies tech, should have spotted this issue immediately when measuring the opening. At this point we were insulted and treated with extremely levels of rudeness by someone claiming to be the business owner. These people take advantage of unsuspecting home owners. Don't believe me, just look at the complaints against them on Better Business Bureau. In one case they even installed a fake Milgard window and when the customer complained, they claimed that they told the customer about it in the show room. The customer denied this happened. I believe the customer because several representatives of this company lied to me directly. Just read the complaints, it's both funny and sad to read. The windows look great but one of the installers cracked my flooring while putting in the slider and after almost 2 weeks, I've been getting the run-around. The check was cashed within a day but when addresing an issue, no one takes responsibility. I've emailed Anthony and have been told that someone was getting back to me soon...that they can't get into contact with the owner....well, I see he answers on here so please call me. The other installer stopped by yesterday to pick up the ladder he left and I showed him the damage. He took photos and said he would talk with his supervisor. I haven't heard back. I wasn't irritated until I was ignored. I'm not asking for much. I just need someone to fix the issue. read more

This place took almost 2 months to order and install a glass shower surround. I would get a call every week to say it was going to be delayed a week. I asked for what was in stock to speed up the process and would not get an answer. They get 3 stars because when they finally show up to install the did a good job. If you are doing a single item and trying to get it done without hiring a contractor go somewhere else. They are focused on contractor support and not homeowners. read more

Victor at Quality Windows was an absolute lifesaver. I have nine year old windows and was having a problem with one of them shutting, it had not shut properly for a couple of years. I was having trouble with anyone helping me out since I didn't really need a window replacement. I asked if I brought the window in if it could be looked at and he obliged. Within five minutes my window was fixed and it is now shutting and latching. No charge. Back in 2005 we had this company install new Milgard Windows throughout our house and a sliding glass door. Within a couple weeks, one of the windows was obviously defective as it got moisture inside as soon as it rained and the window looked cloudy. I called the company, explained what the issue was, and was told by the receptionist that someone would call us. No one called, so I kept calling them and was told the same thing every time. One time I was told that it could be a couple months before someone calls back. So, I kept a log, and started calling every 2-3 months for over a year. No one ever called us or came to fix the window. Eventually I gave up and kept the blinds closed. I'm reminded monthly when my cleaning people come and open the blinds how bad that window looks. Today I opened the blinds & noticed the window is all mildewy inside. I still have all the paperwork from these windows and installation. I see it's written on every page LIFETIME WARRANTY. I'm going to start calling again today. If they take care of this, I will update the review. read more

This is an old spanish revival house that needed special attention to the wood and frame surrounding the window, so I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to preserve all the frame and wood around the window without any damage at all. It is a rare to receive such outstanding customer service and quality workmanship. They went to great lengths to explain every step they were performing on all of my windows to assure me the windows are properly installed and completely waterproof. They even took the time to sketch pictures of the proper way to install and seal windows. They worked promptly and at the completion of the job walked me by each and every window for inspection. They were very careful of my home and cleaned everything up nicely. My new windows are beautiful, waterproof and really cut down on the noise from our recent winds. I was specific about the glass specifications and was also asked multiple times to confirm the size while the representative was researching it in the system. They saved my quote for a later time. I called back within 2 hours and spoke with a different company rep. They looked up the previous quote and stated that the first rep had entered a different glass size. The new, adjusted, quote came out to $136. Second communication breakdown: I was told my order would take 5 days and would receive a call when it was finished. I waited 12 days and called them to ask about my order. I was told that the order was ready and the reason they didn't call was because there was no phone number listed for my order. Contact information is standard for a business to record. Despite the communication breakdown, when I went to pick up the glass, it was apparent that this company is well-established and hires professional staff. The staff was helpful and kind. The store has displays and pictures that demonstrate the work they've done. It's impressive. I am very satisfied with the quality of the glass I received. Originally, I left a frustration-induced review that was unjustifiably critical of the staff. They later called to ask about my satisfaction with the product and to ask about my original Yelp review. I had the opportunity to share my frustrations and acknowledge their quality work. Also, the gentleman that called was the one who forgot to take down my phone number. I respect his willingness to take responsibility for his mistake and call me himself: it would have been easy to have another coworker call. Overall, I'm satisfied and would give them my business again.
