After paying $350 for a quote, I received my quote, which was significantly higher than two others. I had a few questions regarding that quote I paid for, I sent an email to Rachel, no response. I had a call with Chris in which he said he would call me back with some answers, no call back. I called again, no further contact. This is NOT a company I would want to do business with when I can't even get a call back after paying a high quote fee with simple questions on a $30K job. Shameful to do to people. My advice is call around, good companies will come out and give the same type of quote Preferred did for free, and actually give you good business manners and call you back. read more

Granted, my windows were installed 25 years ago, but when I contacted them about a leaking window, it sounded like they would at least come to check it out, even knowing how old the window was. What an absolute disaster of a company. They measured our windows wrong so the install of our new blinds was delayed, a glass shelf they installed fell within a day of using it so they had to redo the work. A worker showed up earlier than the appointment we scheduled and proceeded to harass our staff for not being ready before storming out before doing any of the work they were supposed to do. Another one of their staff complained non stop about his supervisors to our staff to deflect blame from the poor work. And to top of all off they started calling, harassing and visiting the store for final payment before they even sent an invoice! We asked for an invoice and an hour after they sent it they were back on the phone demanding immediate payment. Just the worst people and work you could imagine. read more

After replacing one window, they left little shards of glass all over my living room floor and on the windowsill (both inside and outside). Thats obviously not good with pets/kids adults but the real reason for one star is that they let wasps into my home by leaving a huge window wide open for hours while the guy wasn't even working in the window. Anyone with common sense would have covered it with a tarp while not working on it...he left a huge window wide open for hours and only worked in the window area for a few minutes. Now I get to deal with live wasps in my home after hours on a Friday night and hope that at exterminator can even come here tomorrow (Saturday). Very unhappy with this company. read more

We had a problem with a garage door window. These are definitely unconventional windows to deal with. The window had shattered before. We took it in to Preferred Glass. They replaced it in a timely manner, no problems. It still had some problems with some broken interior trim though, and started threatening to fall out when the garage door was up. We had a tech come out, he was able to fix it in better than we could, and did it fast. So fast in fact, that he didn't even charge us the whole service call charge. You don't see that very often. Our only other option would have been to replace the entire window ($$$). It's been 6 months and the repair is holding up beautifully. I'm in the market for some new windows for the house, and looked at Yelp. I almost went to a company in the SF Valley (I'm in Simi), because they had more reviews and a slightly higher rating.
