A dog being walked on the sidewalk in front of our house one day saw our dog sitting in our front room window. It broke away from its owner, jumped our rose bush hedge and charged our dog, crashing into our window! Shockingly, the dog broke the outer pane of said window! We needed to replace three water damaged windows in our 1920s house. The existing windows were carpentry windows, but due to budget we chose to go with wood clad. My quoting and order experience with American Vision was fine; they were responsive and helpful. Our main concern was to match the existing windows. This was expressly communicated to American Vision and they assured me that the windows would match the existing stepped pattern. The lead time was three months and we patiently waited. Once the windows arrived at their warehouse, we were notified that they were pending inspection. Great, happy to hear they were inspecting them. I asked for completion images to ensure the windows were the correct ones ordered. I received no response from them, even after I followed up. The installation day came and three trucks rolled onto our narrow street and began unloading windows. They brought them up and upon inspection, I confirmed that these were not the correct windows. Extra frustrating because I was told they were inspecting the windows and even asked to confirm with images; this made it clear that they did not inspect or check the items against the purchase order. They had ordered the wrong design from the manufacturer. Now I was in a difficult position, because the crew was onsite, I had water damaged windows and needed them replaced before the next rainy season, and if I rejected the order - I'd wait another three months. Tim was responsive and they offered a discount if I used the incorrect windows. I agreed, because I felt it was a fair-enough option. That being said, we lost four hours of install day due to this fiasco, which didn't help the rest of the issues. The install took two days. We were told we needed their specialized contractor, because our house is an old Spanish with plaster interior walls and stucco exterior. During the entire process, we double and triple confirmed that this contractor could match the exterior and interior - they assured me that this was their best contractor, which is why we needed to wait for them. Fine. We patiently waited for the install to complete. The crew was fast, efficient and neat inside. However, they absolutely botched the interior wall match and the stucco exterior was sloppy. It looked like a bad flip/rush job. These images are after everything dried, but prior to paint. I've had a lot of work done on the interior and worked with multiple people to match the plaster. They were all able to do it just fine and give a perfect match. It was obvious that the guy doing it had no experience. You can clearly see the patch job and the texture is completely different. Further to that, there was an elevated plant bed with agave outside one window. They completely trampled it (before and after image attached). I had just paid my gardener $900 to install those plants a few months before. This is an issue because a) agave is a succulent and damage doesn't disappear; are a year later and the plants still don't look good and b) they had ZERO reason to walk in the plant bed, it was elevated and they only did this to cut a corner. I emailed these images to the company, along with a polite email. They didn't respond. I followed up, the accountant said they'd be in touch. Still didn't hear back. I followed up three more times and got no response. One issue, I can take. Two, dicey. But three major issues on an installation is a problem. The fact that I have to redo my interior plaster and stucco after paying someone to do it is ridiculous. Separate to that, the kitchen window is behind the sink, which means it's extra important that it be properly finished - they chipped the wood frame behind the faucet and the grout had jagged edges where water could pool. Overall, the contractor was sloppy and rushed with very poor attention to detail. The companies lack of responsiveness shows the true nature. Issues arise, but how you handle them matters. read more

I just tried calling for an estimate. I just bought a house and want to replace all my windows with soundproof windows and the lady on the phone. Give me no information. Didn't even try setting up an appointment for me and left me confused and said I have to visit one of their show rooms instead of just setting up an appointment for me so I wouldn't recommend this place due to their lack of experience and communication on the customer service end. read more

I strongly advise potential customers to be extremely cautious with this company. I'm posting the review for head quarter office as well as local office as this is consistent with unlawful cancellation of the legal contract. After signing a contract with them, they unilaterally retracted it, not due to any technical impossibility, but purely for profit reasons. This is especially troubling because another reputable window company has since confirmed that installation in the existing openings is not problematic at all and has offered to complete the job with a lifetime installation warranty. What's even more concerning is the way this company handles contracts. Their contract includes blank or vague statements giving them the right to cancel for virtually any reason, but this is not clearly disclosed or explained at the time of signing. In practice, this means the contract offers customers very little real protection and cannot be relied on. This shows a pattern of irresponsible, potentially illegal conduct and serious incompetence. A signed contract should mean something. In this case, it clearly did not. Do not assume that what's written -- or not written -- in their contract protects you. Based on my experience, their commitments are unreliable, and customers should think twice before trusting them with a major home project. read more

We had another rep some and take measurements (I didn't catch his name) but was also great and re-explained everything to me so we were on the same page. About 8 weeks later my order came in and I had everything installed. That day I had Gabriel, Abel, Emilio and Everardo . They arrived on time, were super clear about what would happen that day and they finished on time. I had 3 windows and a sliding door replace in one day.
