We had an issue with one of our windows that was not sliding properly. It was very crooked and loose. The window was installed by Milgard in 2020, but because we are the second owner, they will not touch it. I called this company, and Dan, the owner came out to look at the window. He removed the window and determined that yes, the rollers are the problem. He went out to his truck and came back with new rollers, replaced them and put the window back in all free of charge. He was so nice. I highly recommend this company. They also replace the glass if that is all you need. read more

I made a special order over the phone. The employee wrote down the sizes wrong. I take clear notes and type them so there is no mistake in my measurements. In good faith, I even tried to make the wrong size glass fit but it wouldn't. She still placed the blame on me for her incorrect, hand written, invoice. She offered to redo the order but make me pay for the materials. I explained to her I was not willing to pay twice for something that was not my fault. I would gladly pay otherwise. (This was only a $30 purchase) Then she referred me to the owners (who were not available until the following week). She didn't bother to call them to settle the problem right away. UDPDATED: Employee contacted me and corrected the order the following Monday after I wrote the review. I increased review from 1 to 3 stars. I am a customer here, having a house full of glass windows and doors. Glass gets broken, it happens. The first time it was the fixed part of one of the windows that got broken by the gardener. It seems that the gardener breaks so many windows that they use this company frequently. They did such a nice job then, that I kept their card. This time my son broke the sliding part of the window. Community glass offered to explain to me how I can take the window out and bring it to them. That is a good option for people who have the time and know-how to take the window to them. It is an older type that all they have to do is cut their glass to my size and put it in the frame. Took no time at all really and saved me the cost of someone coming to my house. read more

Within one week of the glass installation, water was seeping under the glass in various locations. I called to have Dan come out to look at it. The result was more caulk. Soon after, more water seepage and more caulk. They reinstalled the glass panels, leaving with slanted glass and water leaking more than the first time around. Another call to Community to report the water issue. Community said they guarantee their work. We called so many times for installation and seepage issues. Our final few calls were not returned. This is very unprofessional. I am not sure there is any guarantee for their product and installation. I am sad to say the final outcome resulted in a new shower install, with a different glass contractor at more than the initial cost paid to Community. I do not recommend this company...shop wisely! read more

I do not recommend this place to anyone. They are very bad with followups and seem to forget about their customers until the customer calls. They came out and did the measuring for my shower door and told me it will be ready in a week. 3 days later they guy showed up and told me there was a delay because their machine was broken. I called and asked for a discount due to the inconveniences and I was told the price they quoted me was last years and there was no discount. I gave up and asked them when will it be ready, the owner told me it will be ready July 3rd or July 5th. They never called me back until I called and they said it will be ready tomorrow which is July 9th. It has been almost 3 weeks. Unacceptable!! read more

After having 17 windows and years of great service I was sadly disappointed with their current service. I am redoing my master bath and needed to lengthen the window by 8". They now were charging me extra for installation which was never done before but I said OK. I was never given specifics as to what they needed except for the opening to be enlarged to accomodate the longer window. They never called me to tell me the window was in though it was supposed to be in by 2/02, I had to call call them on 2/06. When they came with the window they actually said they couldn't install it because I hadn'y enlarged it enough though they had never given me specs to go by. Now I am left with a window sitting in my garage with no one to install it. read more

This place is terrible, I purchased some glass pieces from them on Monday, they had them ready the next day. When I got home I notice I had ordered the wrong size so I took them back on Wednesday and asked them to cut them. They said yeah we will give you a call later on today when it's ready. They never give me a call. I called them back on Thursday and they said sorry we are working on them we are gonna call u later on when they are ready. Never heard from them. I called them back Friday and they said idk if the glass is ready let me call you back in a few minutes. 2 hours later I call them back and they said sorry they there is no one to cut it. So I decided to go to the store and see if they were ready. When I got there around 4 o'clock the open sign light was on but they were closed already.. they are so unprofessional. We had a small project involving the reinstall of 2 mirrors and replacement of 1 mirror. They originally quoted $525 for the project, which they said would not pose any problems. a week later someone from community came to our house and looked at the project and said that it had been under quoted. They also had to install two small trim pieces after they cut a new mirror and install it along with the other 2. The New quote was $685, to which we agreed. We were told they would be out the following Thursday to do the work. They did not show on Thursday and when I spoke with the young lady there she said they were held over on another job which was taking longer than they had originally planned for. SO, they would be out the next Thursday. Again, NO SHOW. They again made the excuse of another job taking longer than expected but they would be out the next Thursday. That next Thursday the excuse was that someone had a death in the family so they were short handed and could not to OUR job. BUT they would be out the following Thursday to complete it. You guessed it, Thursday came along but not Community. It seems that they had a project that was taking longer than expected. The girl then said that she did not think they would ever be able to get to our project. SO, I cancelled the project with them. I would NEVER recommend Community for any project. They are NOT dependable. I suspect they never cut the new mirror that they measured for and probably never had any intention of doing our job, since it was a stall every week. I called Community based on the yelp reviews I found. Now I am sorry that I let those reviews cloud my judgement. I suspect that some (if not many) of them are phony reviews. Beware, this is not a good place to deal with. You've been warned. read more

This company ruined our new marble vanity top. When we met with Dan the owner to discuss installing shower glass for our newly remodeled bathroom, we had a good impression. He was polite, straightforward and seemed very competent. His price was in line with other bids. Little did we know that Dan was not the person who would install the glass. The installers were two young men. They installed the glass and mirror but in the process stained the marble top of our new (3 weeks old) $900 vanity. The vanity was a splurge, but we had waited a long time to remodel our master bath. Our contractor installed it carefully and we handled it with kid gloves. I don't know what kind of chemical Dan's employees put on the marble and I am sure it was an accident. But when they were showing me the installed glass they placed a clipboard over the stain, so they must have noticed what they had done. We called Dan, and he came out to inspect. He saw the stain and said there was nothing he could do but take $100 off our total (the job cost $1400). His employee denied making the stain. So it was his word against ours. We assumed that a reputable business would have insurance to cover this kind of thing, but Dan said nothing about it. Our only recourse is to warn other folks to stay away from this place. read more

Had a terrible experience with Preferred Glass in that I was strung along, had to speak to multiple people, and worst of all, the price was very high and was higher than what they they first said it would be. So, before I proceeded to pull the trigger with them, I decided that there has to be better alternatives out there. Called Community Glass. Best thing I did this year. They are friendly, courteous, less money, and there was no price confusion whatsoever. No changing prices at the last minute. They followed up with me when they were supposed to. The work was done, and done right. However, they inadvertently put dings in the bathroom sink counter top opposite the shower. Sent them photos, asked them to check into this. They right out there and fixed that problem at their own cost. If you want easy, professional, friendly, courteous, and fair pricing, hire these people. We have more work to do with glass and windows, and we now have a go-to vendor called Community Glass. read more
