Parry sent over his crew right away to caulk around the existing one so we wouldn't get any incursion while waiting for the new one to arrive and get installed. Nice! For this job, I had also asked to have a custom window casing and deep windowsill built. We agreed that I'd buy the materials (a particular trim profile and hardwood species), prime them, and they'd do the cutting and installation. This collaboration worked perfectly. read more

Never use this company !!! I spent $5800 for a double wood front door 3 years ago. First off, it was supposed to be primed before installation. It was not. Second, it was a green door, meaning, it was not totally cured and oozed out sap for 4 months. 6 months later, the door cracked. After several months, they agreed to a new door. When it came, it was not measured correctly so I had to wait another 6 months for the next door. so now the door is installed, I had to pay again to get it repainted. Guess what, 6 months later, that new door cracked. They will not replace the door so I have to live with a cracked door since they told me it is past warranty. their solution...pay another $1500 to install a fiberglass door as a replacement. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in this company. Damon (sales consultant) came to our home on Wednesday to give us an estimate for replacing sliding doors and a picture window. Originally, he promised to have the estimate ready the next day. During the visit, he recommended a different brand than the one we originally requested, based on the warranty. We agreed to meet at their showroom so we could see and compare the products in person. We were busy Thursday, so we discussed possibly meeting the following day, but Damon was supposed to confirm by phone. He never called. Ironically, we actually had an opening Thursday and tried to make it work. I called the office, and the receptionist took a message for Damon. He never returned the call. I called him myself on Friday around 12:50 PM. He said, 'Oh, I'm working on your estimate right now, I'll send it to you.' Funny how he knew exactly which brand and product line we had chosen, while still claiming he never received the receptionist's message. Lie and another lie. This guy threw his co-worker under the bus without any hesitation. By the way, when I called the office again on their next business day, the receptionist confirmed she had given Damon the message. What else Damon lied or will lie about??? He came across as a sleazy salesperson. Most disappointing of all, Damon never sent the estimate, so when I called the office again I canceled their service. I had a great experience with AVW, from the initial consult, measuring and install. The most important of all, was the installation (Ian and Erik) were top notch at their care of removing a difficult garden window behind out sink and replacing it with a nice new slide window, flush to our exterior wall. Great company! Was looking around for a company to replace the sliding glass door in my mom's home. I used Yelp to request a quote from local businesses and My Window Solutions was prompt in getting back to me. My mom carried it the rest of the way and decided to move forward with this company based on price and options they have for the sliding glass door. Compared to other companies their prices were reasonable and they didn't pressure my mom to make a decision. One company gave her a deadline to decide or else her quote would change or increase (rude). When they came in for the initial assessment, I happened to be home and the assessor recognized me from my inquiry, which I thought was very thoughtful he remembered. On the day of installation they took care of everything. We have a cornice around our sliding door and they were very careful to remove that and the blinds. Everything in the house was also covered so we didn't have to move anything (i.e. couch), we just moved anything that was blocking them from working on installing the new door. They were prompt and took care of it all before 5 pm. Paint job and molding was wonderful as well. We ended up not wanting to reinstall the blinds (door looked to good to hide!) and they were kind enough to take away our blinds as well! The two who installed our windows were lovely people as well! After nine solid, crazy months in an insane market, we finally found a wonderful home that we truly love. The house was built in 1965 with windows that were clearly still very much 1965. We met with a couple of vendors and decided to go with Mike after a former neighbor held My Window Solutions in such high regard when their windows came out looking so fabulous. We found truly beautiful windows for the whole house that were within our budget. But like anything else, living in a post-pandemic world means you've got to be patient and wait your turn. About six weeks later, exactly when Mike said they'd come in, they did. We have a lot of glass in this mid-century house, and couldn't be more excited to see those scratched up, dingy old ones leave and the gorgeous sparkling new ones go up. Lonny's measurements were absolute perfection to the nth which meant no re-painting of any kind. He's truly a miracle-worker. About mid-day, we hit a snafu. A major one. The kind you and the installation team hope never happens - the largest floor-to-ceiling picture window just inches to being fit in somehow didn't quite make it, and ended up instead as a billion, trillion tiny glass shards inside and outside our home. The entire crew and us were on our knees for hours. But we got it all up. They had plywood over the opening in short order, the glass was sent for again, and the rest of it all went well thanks to a hard-working crew helmed by Woody, an excellent supervisor with very soothing people skills. Lesson of the last several years is no thing is that important. But if I'm really here to thank people, I'm going to send Eddie running up the center aisle to accept his golden window statue. This man is not only incredibly knowledgable about every facet of the product, he actually really loves what he does - making customers happy. Eddie didn't leave until that brand new replacement window fit like a hand in a velvet glove. My husband and I wanted to adopt him on the spot, such an absolute sweetheart of a guy. I wish the powers that be would give him an instant giant raise and a company car. He takes such immense care and has integrity the likes of I thought had all but disappeared. We moved into our house pre-pandemic December 2019 we knew the house needed new windows . We reached out to yelp and also a couple of our neighbors they recommended My Window Solutions. We are so glad we purchased the windows from them . After two and a half years We decided to contact My Window Solutions. They contacted us the next day and came out to show us the different type of windows we could order and decided to go into their show room to pick out the correct ones for our house. Scheduled a time for insulation and they came out exactly on time like they said between eight and 8:30 in the morning and they said it would take two days. I suppose we were shopping for windows and doors around the same time many other homeowners were because after we placed the order our windows and doors took about 6 to 8 months to finally arrive and be installed. There was some confusion on which door was to be placed where but Mike was amazing in resolving the issues caused by some miscommunication. I recommend this company for their quality of work. They have a stellar team of guys that work efficiently and clean up after themselves. They left my house cleaner that it had been. They laid down tarps, and swept away any debri from the door frames/trim/casing they cut at my front yard on the installation date. I only knocked off 1 star because of the price because shopping around i was able to find prices that were a couple thousand dollars cheaper, but I understand they have a lot of guys working for them that they must pay and demand for these products are high, but $650 per door is a bit much for me. I had 10 interior doors installed on 5/25 - 5/26. One of them was ordered incorrectly by the business to swing out instead of in, and there were multiple issues with the quality of the caulking as well as a poorly executed miter joint. I discovered the miter joint issue when workers were still at my house - they had told me that they were completed with the job and asked me to check the work. I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking for and so I didn't immediately notice the caulking issues, but I did notice the miter joint, and when I mentioned it they said that they had either run out of or incorrectly cut the casing, and that they could redo it when they came back to replace the incorrectly ordered door. I said that was fine. I reported the issues to Lonnie on 5/25, and asked him when the replacement door would be ready. During that email exchange, I did not get an answer regarding the date that the replacement door would be ready, and also he tried to tell me that the workers had intended from the start to replace the miter joint, which did not feel honest - if that were the case, they would have told me about the problem, rather than me bringing the problem to their attention after the told me they were finished. (In defense of the worker I had spoken to at my home about it, there had been many workers present the first day, and only several the second, so it is definitely possible that he had not been the one working on that door and wasn't even aware of the problem until I mentioned it. He was very kind and respectful about the issue and offered a solution to fix it. This is not a complaint about him.) When my conversation with Lonnie proved to be unproductive, I asked him to have Parry call me the following week, as Parry had been out of town the week the job was done. On 5/30, Mike called, but I did not answer because I had asked to speak with Parry, not Mike. On 6/2, Parry finally called and left a voice mail apologizing for the issues in the job and essentially telling me to call Mike. On 6/2, I called Mike, and again asked when the replacement door would be ready, and again I did not receive an answer. We discussed the caulking and miter joint issues, and I explained that there were issues with the caulking throughout the house, and it was preventing me from being able to start painting the doors and trim, which obviously I would like to complete rather than just sitting around waiting for them to get in the replacement door. The initial order of doors had a 6 week lead time. I was never told whether there would be any sort of rush on the replacement door order, so basically i just had to sit around for another 6 weeks waiting for them to correct their door-ordering error before I could start painting. I asked him if he could schedule a worker to come in prior to the door replacement to fix the caulking and miter joint issues. He told me that he would call me back "the beginning of next week" to let me know. It is now 6/18. I was told on 6/2 that I would be getting a call back the following week, and over two weeks have now gone by, and I've heard nothing about when the replacement door will be ready or if anyone will be coming out to fix the caulking and miter joint in the interim. In the meantime, I'm in the process of painting rooms throughout the house, and I'm having to paint around the poor caulking areas, so my entire house is now filled with primed doors and trim, unfinished painted walls, and cracked, lumpy caulking. I do want to note that the areas with the caulking issues are not the majority of the areas - and the areas that were done well are absolutely lovely. As noted above, there were a large number of workers in my home the first day, so the only thing that I can figure is that most of those workers did a wonderful job, but a small minority of the workers did not. The reason that I am writing this review is not because of the workers, it is because I believe the top-down response to the problem has been very unsatisfactory. The majority of positive reviews on Yelp have been for window installation, so my takeaway from this project is to find a different company to use for interior doors, as that does not seem to be the type of project that they are particularly invested in. read more

When shopping for Windows I had estimates done by several different companies. I had 5-6 companies come out. None of them made me feel comfortable. One used the typical sales tactic of coming into the house, giving me a number and saying it's a good number and then 'calling' a boss to get a 'better number'. Some came in and were sloppy with their measurements and just stumbled through the house. We wanted a Bay window and we had plenty of 'yes' men come thru. I just felt that I had a bunch of sales guys come thru and then I'd get screwed on the install or get up-charged later because of some 'oversight' on the sales process. So I stumbled upon My Window Solutions since they were local to me in Thousand Oaks, specialized windows. Mike came out and did the measurements. He emphasized in his non-confrontational, best price - best value. He walked thru the house with an eye on options. He said that he'll email us quotes with two options for windows. The price for their vinyl replacements to replace our single-pane windows were great and bottom line better than anyone else. After putting the window order in we waited the normal few months to get our windows from the factory and then scheduled a crew to install our 16 windows. They had multiple people on their crew working all over our house. They had extra guys who would 'clean-up' and keep the job moving while guys were installing/caulking. They were highly respectful of our house and I could tell that they really took pride in their work. As a bonus, we had to get a side door that needed replacing due to termite damage. We went directly to My Window Solutions without hesitation. Mike came out, covid protected, and measured what we wanted kept i straight. We said that we have to wait 6 months before we can get the door installed since we were getting our foundation fixed. He said no problem. 6 months later, we had the door installed. We ran into an issue where the frame behind it was all chewed out due to termite damage. The guy said he could fix it all. Mike gave me a very reasonable price that including installing new studs and stucco work and the deal was done. Stress free experience. This review is 2 years late, but perhaps that's the best part. We love our windows and continue to love them No issues with leaking or not closing. They don't rattle in these high windows. We had our foundation fixed and we were told we could have issues closing our windows afterwards. But our windows are closing like a champ and no issues whatsoever. Our new door is working wonderfully. And now we're considering changing our entry door and will not hesitate to work with them. He went out to the house right away, evaluated what was needed and providing me with an estimate promptly. The estimate was reasonable. After re-evaluating the windows, it was determined that more work was needed. He sent me an updated estimate. His crew did an exemplary job in repairing the termite damaged wood and installing new windows. They also did a great job in re-stuccoing the outside, repairing the wood on the inside and plastering. I could not be happier. I do plan to use this company again in the future. I was happy and so were my tenants.
