the steps leading up to the house
James S.

We needed to have our house painted inside and out and I found the best painters in the area which is Precision Painting. I told the manager Brittany that our golf course deck and stairs were in shambles due to wood rot and needed to be replaced before their painters arrived. Without hesitation, she told me to contact Graham Hallissey who their company uses exclusively prior to their painting crews arrive. I called Graham and he came over right away and gave me a very fair price for all of the work that needed to be do in addition to two additional concrete patios. I cant express in words the quality and detail of their work. It is a family business with Graham, his brother Robert, his father and another fine associate. If you want the best in the business, then you need to give Graham a call, you wont be sorry I promise you. I have included some pictures as words cant describe their craftsmanship.

Master bath shower

Graham and his wonderful crew just finished renovating almost my entire house, and I could not be more excited about the results! This included all new porcelain tile floors, custom cabinetry, added and updated electrical, 2 completely new bathrooms, paint throughout, a newly-constructed fireplace, 2 new sliding glass doors, skylights, windows, and more. How many people can say they MISS their construction crew when they've finished? I can! All four of Graham's regular crew, himself included, are the most pleasant guys to work with! As we worked our way through the project, we created the plans together, Graham and his crew providing just the right amount of advice and guidance. They were always on time, always happy to get to work, and communicated with me throughout the day as to what they were doing. Three of us, plus a dog and a cat, were living here during the entire project, and they could not have been more considerate. We worked together to manage the logistics, and they always gave me plenty of warning when a particular space was going to be unavailable. Their work ethic is like none I have ever seen, and the quality of their work is beyond compare! All of them are very detail-oriented, and they take a lot of pride--and joy--in their work. They cared as much about the project as I did. They were so patient with my questions and requests and did everything they could to make me feel confident and happy. Probably the most important thing is their level of integrity--I had absolute trust in them to do the job to perfection and to be fair with me. What more could you ask? This was the fourth time I have worked with Graham--other projects included a complete kitchen renovation which is equally stunning--and it will not be the last! I wouldn't consider even interviewing anyone else for my home renovation projects, because I have found the very best in Graham Hallissey Construction!

Graham was recommended to my husband and I by a colleague for our bathroom remodel and we are so grateful for that recommendation. Graham was extremely easy to work with and incredibly patient with two first time homeowners. We really appreciated how knowledgeable Graham is when it comes to where to shop in the area for things like tile, vanities, etc. and how willing he was to provide feedback to help us make the best decision for our home and budget. Throughout our bathroom remodel, Graham gave us daily updates on the progress and even came to our rescue when some strong winds knocked over our backyard fence causing a pipe to crack and leak into the wall of our dining room. Graham and his crew took our outdated, designed for an elderly person bathroom and turned it into our favorite room in the house. We highly recommend working with Graham for your next project. You won't regret it.

I have had the opportunity to photograph some the incredible work that Graham and his team has constructed. I am constantly blown away with how seamless their work is. Every customer of theirs that I've ever spoken to has been very satisfied. I even had Graham build a custom bar that came out fantastic. A piece that I will have for life, it's that cool. If you want a quality job at a fair price, plus the kindest personality you'll ever be around, look no further. Love these guys.

Ceiling tongue and groove

We brought Graham and Robert Hallissey in to complete a patio cabana that was a nightmare from the time it was designed by our engineering company. There were other contractors that gave us bids that were in range of the bid from Hallissey Construction, so cost was not the deciding factor. Graham was the only contractor that recognized issues with the approved design plans, from materials that were meant for indoor construction to relocating the tongue and groove panels under the roof in order to hide the nails, bolts, and metal connections. Graham sent email invoices for all materials and costs in a very timely manner. He also provided detailed explanations for any costs that were not included in the initial bid prior to purchasing any new materials. Not only did Graham do everything he could to introduce the appropriate materials while keeping costs down, he also went to the county with us on more than one occasion to explain the material issues with the approved plans and help get the new materials approved. Graham is very busy and he won't get to you every day because of that. If he is unable to be on the job every day, he stops by each day before work begins or ensures that Robert is available to oversee construction. His team is very professional and courteous. Our cabana was completed in a very timely manner and we are more than satisfied with an esthetically pleasing cabana that would otherwise have looked like a warehouse (or worse). (Plus, the Irish accents make every conversation much more entertaining!)

Can't say enough about Dan and his company! Everyone was professional, friendly, and just all around GREAT people. He promised us he'd have an estimate within 5 days but actually provided it, with a CAD, in 3 hours. My husband and I were shocked at how reasonable the estimate was. In fact it was so reasonable it allowed us to splurge on extras, like a blind-corner pullout cabinet. He estimated it would take 4-6 weeks to complete, which was less than half the time of the other quotes we received. Guess what? He had them ready in 2 weeks. The installation was a master class on attention to detail. The paint job was outstanding. We are absolutely thrilled with how the cabinetry turned out. Honestly we are trying to find other cabinetry projects for Dan because we miss him!

They even helped with replicating the decorative facia around the post to match what was originally there. They were very reasonable and fair with their pricing. They also completed the job in the time frame they committed to. I look forward to utilizing them for future projects and repairs. Thank you Villatoros!

Two wouldn't take the job because it was too small. Franklin came by and gave me the best price. After the initial deposit, his crew came by about a week later and finished the job in one day. I think they did a pretty good job replicating what had existed before, although the work seemed a little sloppy. I saw a few gaps in the framing, but they were able to seal it up with bondo. Also on one of the posts there was a large crack in the wood, but that was sealed as well. For the price, I think this was a pretty good value. Would definitely recommend for smaller jobs like mine.

Otherwise,, you may pay twice and have to wait quite a bit longer to get what you asked for, like we did and so did our friends who we referred him to. Also, don't fall for the celebrity name dropping. He would likely be fantastic for straight forward projects but we had a bumpy and uncomfortable ride (and we felt awful when our friends shared that they had the same experience). --------- Hey Curt, I'm not going to respond to your questions. I'm entitled to post my experience... that's what the app is for. You say "we" but we only interacted with you. You say you're sorry and want to make us happy; there was a time where you had that opportunity, instead, you said we were extremely picky for pointing out defects in the top coat/finish that are all at eye level and that we continue to see every day. You say we were happy with the work, but we were just happy for our project to end at a somewhat satisfactory level. We were drained. And, once we saw the pattern with our project and our friend's project, we realized we were just not going to get what we asked for without continuously paying you for corrections. It's unfortunate because the lack of quality communication really got in the way, as did our misalignment of standards for quality. If you like, I can post the photos. We've taken excellent care of our investment and the blemishes are all the same as the day you left them.

Baseboards throughout, done clean and precise. Forty year old doors, sanded and painted until they feel fresh and contemporary again. A dated mailbox, swapped for something modern that actually fits the home. He remodeled our family room, including the fireplace and paint, and transformed our guest room with a smart closet expansion. He also retrofitted windows in several rooms, which made a noticeable difference right away. What stands out most is how much he cares. He shows up, figures things out, and leaves everything better than he found it. Reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely skilled. We trust him fully and always look forward to the next project.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately my experience with this handyman was…read moredisappointing from start to finish. Our first correspondence began in January, and although he was unable to accommodate us until March, we were understanding and willing to wait. Initially, he quoted us for three separate projects. While the pricing seemed high, we still decided to move forward and schedule the work. One of the projects involved plumbing concerns, which became more urgent, so we decided to have our regular plumber handle that portion separately. I reached back out to revise the scope of work down to only two projects. Surprisingly, the updated quote for two projects ended up being more expensive than the original quote for all three. When I questioned the pricing, I was told the original pricing was only lower because the work had been "bundled." A few days before the scheduled appointment, I asked whether it would be possible to push the work back by one day due to a busy client schedule at our business. He declined and instead suggested an entirely different date that worked better for him, which delayed the project even further from the original timeline. We agreed in an effort to remain flexible. He later requested a deposit, which was understandable. However, because this was for our business, I requested a detailed written quote and W-9 form so our accounting department could properly process payment. Despite multiple requests, he was unable to provide the documentation needed, and communication became increasingly delayed and inconsistent. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable moving forward and decided to cancel the project. His response afterward was extremely unprofessional, to the point where I ultimately blocked further communication. We ended up hiring another handyman who completed the same work professionally and for nearly 50% less than his quoted pricing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this handyman to other business owners looking for professionalism, transparency, and reliable communication.

Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction.
