Westside…read moreinitially provided a proposal for all new cabinets, countertops, tile, etc. As our budget did not accommodate cabinet replacement, Westside then provided an alternate proposal for repainting the existing maple cabinets, which we did instead, with an excellent result. We selected the new countertops from samples in their showroom, then shopped on our own for the tile backsplash, all new appliances and fixtures. Westside was very flexible in allowing us to be hands-on with the process and our selections. For Clients who prefer more creative guidance, Westside offers in-house design services. Jonathan and the entire Westside team were exceptional in their care and concern for the Client. Further, their various tradespeople were friendly and competent without exception. Importantly, they also finished within budget and estimated timeline. Although we have held off painting the kitchen walls and restoring the floor tile pending completion of other work planned for our home, we have already settled into our "mostly new" kitchen. We initially hired RGC to replace four nail-in windows and one slider because we were experiencing interior water leaks. The work was done quickly and perfectly. We were so impressed that we hired them again for painting and a water heater replacement. Months later, our upstairs (brand new) Milgard windows began leaking. Richard came out right away. He brought in their supplier, Agoura Sash & Door, and even coordinated two separate inspections with Milgard's warranty team. Both times, Milgard said the issue wasn't covered. Instead of walking away or blaming the manufacturer, Richard stood behind the job. He paid out of his own pocket to replace the windows again -- including tearing out stucco, redoing drywall, repainting -- everything. That kind of integrity and accountability is extremely rare in construction. If you want a contractor who truly stands behind his work and treats customers the right way, call Richard. After the initial assessment by the restoration company that was provided by our insurance company, we began to understand the scope and complexity of our rebuilding journey. We also knew we needed help in the reconstruction of our home and a company that had experience in dealing with insurance companies for these type of events. A friend recommended I call Alon with Barrington Construction as we did not know a contractor that was in a position to handle our massive situation as the flood reached every room in the house with the exception of the two back bedrooms. After our initial phone conversation and face to face meeting with Alon, we felt very comfortable with Alon and his knowledge of the insurance process and all the moving parts between the deconstruction and reconstruction of our home. We also like his sense of humor. We signed on with Barrington and began the reconstruction of our entire home. Alon worked with AAA Insurance to secure a fair settlement for all damages that allowed us to start our rebuild and more. Over the next 18+ weeks, Alon and his team work with my wife and I and the interior designer we hire to help us navigate this remodel. Alon communicated with us everyday letting us know what was to take place each week and our responsibilities when needed. Alon's construction knowledge was instrumental in keeping the project from almost zero cost overruns and our budget intact. The quality of the workmanship provided exceeded our expectations and the guidance Alon provided assisted us in making what seemed like a thousand decisions throughout our journey.
