Kitchen remodel.
Near M.

Richard's crew was absolutely great, very skilled and trustworthy. They worked efficiently every day to complete the project which included a full kitchen and master bath remodel, whole house painting, new flooring & baseboards, and a media center. The communication was excellent. Richard responded right away when we had any questions or additional requests. I would definitely use RGC for future projects.

Removal of bathtub install walking shower. Two bathrooms I reached out to Rabin General Construction when the other person I had done business with was difficult to get a hold of. Even after others quoted, extremely difficult to reach. I will be the first to admit that my standards are quite high and I was reluctant in trying someone new I had not either been referred to or had a previous experience with. But I decided to give Richard a call for a quote. Within minutes he reached out to me and we set up an onsite appointment to review the scope of work. From the moment I met Richard I was convinced that he ran an honest, quality company. He was thorough in his expansions, timely on his quote and extremely forthcoming with suggestions and ideas without challenging or changing the ideas he had in mind. His quote presentation for lack of a better word was top notch. We were scared that his quote would be out of the ball park. It was not. It was right in line with the other quotes we received with what we felt would be a top notch job. We signed the contract and scheduled ourselves 2 months out. Before the job Richard gave us homework of what we needed to do and get. He gave us outstanding local recommendations while still allowing the freedom to go where we wanted if we wanted. His places of business he recommended were outstanding and spoke of Richard as second to none. They were all 100% right. The job was started the day he said it would. He introduced his crew to us, explained in detail the process of what would happen each step of the way. His crew was nothing short of phenomenal. They started each day within minutes of 8:00am and wrapped up each up each day after 4:00 but before 5:00. Never ever was there a day of gap. No others jobs squeezed in. We were the focus from start to finish. Did I mention he finished the job exactly within the timeline of the scope of work regardless of our minor tweaks and add ons along the way. Everyday when his crew left the house, yard, courtyard and anything they were in contact with was spotless. Actually cleaner than they found it. They always made sure to communicate that they were leaving to ensure the home was secure. His crew was polite and considerate of our dogs and our working remote arrangements . I cannot say enough good things about the crew. Extremely polite and always wanting and doing the best job with a pride of workmanship exuding from these folks. Richard is responsive. Hours do not go by without a returned phone call, just minutes. Even when there were some hic-ups which there always is when you are busting open walls. Everything was explained in great detail where even I could understand. One minor change we did involved removing a large section of drywall. Made me extremely nervous especially when I saw the piece just put back. I already had in mind and picked out a huge picture to cover that space. I pointed out to the lead dude about my concerns and he sort of chuckled and said not to worry. After their multiple levels of layers to repair the wall I honestly cannot see any witness marks of a 3 foot by 2 foot hole in my wall. As if there never was an intrusion. I can be quick to complain and almost difficult to please, but the only complain I have is that I do not have another project lined up with him to work on. Because working with him and his crew has by far been the most rewarding experience I have ever had in working with a contractor. You will not have any of the typical nightmares working with Richard or his crew. I recommend Raven General construct on any Home project. Thank you Rabin Construction for a job well done and a confident referral to anyone that needs home remodeling

(Note: The furniture bar cabinets and library were added later on and were not part of this contractor's project). From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!

I was first referred to Preferred Builders by my tax preparer, Happily, my first repair/remodel turned out wonderfully so I immediately started a remodel on my own home. Scope of work: remove all the carpeting in the house and install laminate plank flooring in those areas. The travertine flooring in the entry, kitchen and hallway had large craters which collected dirt and water residue after washing. I had the floor steamed, the craters filled and the whole floor resealed. I had a gasline installed in the kitchen and a new gas oven installed. I also had a complete bathroom remodel which included removing a huge jacuzzi tub and installing an elegant and safe walk in shower. For the bathroom Nir listened to my concerns and needs and then gave me two 3-D renderings of my options. Elba was fabulous and fast with permits, a purchase list and provided weekly job schedules and updates. I have now completed this remodel and I can't be happier. My Preferred Builders team was pure gold! I highly recommend Nir, Elba and Orel, the Foreman. Orel was caring and his experience was invaluable, Roman, (drywall, moldings, paint, flooring) Carlo (beautiful tile work) and Abnir were all professional, caring and kind. My remodel was reasonable and fast. I definitely recommend Preferred and I already have.

We had a vision, and Mike brought it to life!…read more We've tackled our fair share of remodel projects over the years, but nothing quite prepared us for the leap into a complete, ground-up ADU build. We knew this wasn't a project to hand off to just anyone, we needed a true expert, someone who could steer us through every twist and turn with confidence. That's exactly what we found in Mike. From our very first meeting, Mike had a calm, reassuring presence that told us we were in good hands. He listened closely to our vision, asked the right questions, and laid out a clear path forward that immediately put our minds at ease. And trust us, our minds needed easing, we came to him with a steady stream of nervous, sometimes repetitive questions, and he never once made us feel like a burden. He answered every single one with patience, warmth, and genuine reassurance. Communication was a true highlight of working with Mike. He kept us updated at every stage, so we always knew exactly where things stood. What could have been an incredibly stressful, all-consuming process instead felt manageable, even exciting. He also took the reins on coordinating with city inspectors throughout the entire build, handling all the back-and-forth so we didn't have to lift a finger. That alone lifted a massive weight off our shoulders. And the icing on the cake? He finished the entire project ahead of the estimated timeline, without ever cutting corners on quality or care. If you're on the fence about a big build like this, let us save you the trouble: call Mike. He turned what could have been an overwhelming experience into one we're genuinely grateful for, and the final result speaks for itself. We couldn't recommend him more highly.

It was open, modern and made for entertaining. We just didn't know whether anyone could deliver it. Mike did. He redesigned the whole layout around how we live. Today it's a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with an open floor plan, a real laundry room and the ensuite master we always wanted. Every time I walk through it, I'm amazed at how different it feels. One thing that set Mike apart was the 3D renderings. That was a step above what we expected. We could see the layout before anything was built, and Mike could make any adjustment we asked for with seeming ease. We reviewed the changes quickly and landed on the perfect layout. We never had to guess what the finished home would look like. We were nervous about hiring a contractor. We'd heard the horror stories about unreliability, poor work and overpaying. Mike put those fears to rest early. He listened closely, answered every question patiently, and never made us feel like we were asking too much. We felt like partners with him, not just customers. He cared about the outcome as much as we did, and he kept working until we were happy. If you have a vision for your home and need someone who can design it and build it, call Mike. He was a blessing to work with, and we now have our dream house. We were so impressed with the process that we immediately started a 1000sqft ADU with MDM that was just completed. We recommend him without hesitation.

From the beginning, Mo took the time to listen to what I was hoping to accomplish and worked closely with me throughout the planning process and the many decisions that came with my remodel. I never felt rushed into making decisions, and I appreciated being able to ask questions, discuss different options, and make changes along the way. Adam, the owner, brings more than 20 years of hands-on construction experience to the company. His involvement and knowledge gave me confidence throughout the project. Having Adam there to look at things firsthand and make decisions on the spot was something I really appreciated. What I especially valued was how available both Mo and Adam were and how they handled the unforeseen hiccups that can come with a remodel. Mo, Adam, and the entire Safeway team were responsive to my questions and requests and worked with me to make sure that I was happy with the finished project. My kitchen and living space have been completely transformed. My home feels brighter, more open, warmer, and more inviting. I'm extremely happy with the outcome and would absolutely recommend Safeway Construction to anyone considering a remodel.

Forget what you might expect from an average contractor...low ball or excessive bids, unexpected…read morechange orders, no shows, pulling out of the job in the middle of critical stages, lack of responsiveness. Jonathan from Mayan Home Builders is 100% exactly the OPPOSITE of any of that. He is awesome, and if you are looking for a contractor to hire, you should hire Jonathan and you will NOT be disappointed. In fact, you'll be thrilled, like we are. We did a very extensive remodel of our kitchen, family room, master bathroom, guest bathroom, and living room, stairways and rails, replacing most windows and old-school sliders, and replacing the front door. Many drop ceilings were removed, and load bearing walls were removed, involving footings and beams in several areas. All flooring was replaced. Essentially, about 1,700 square feet of space was basically gutted to the sticks on the inside. This transformed our 1970's closed plan home, to a modern, open floor plan design. Jonathan is extremely patient, helpful, and far beyond what can be called responsive (I mean like responding immediately to questions or concerns). He also knows his stuff. He has a great eye for design, and in countless decisions he was a great counselor and had great suggestions for us. His pricing wasn't bargain basement, and it wasn't excessive. It was fair, transparent, understandable and clear, and most importantly...reasonable. And trust me, reasonable is good..you don't want to go bargain basement. I feel like we got a high quality build for reasonable prices. We ended up having some latent plumbing and sewer problems, completely unrelated to Jonathan, and we had to replace and redo our plumbing and sewer system. That was fun, and expensive. But it's just as another illustration of Jonathan's flexibility and desire to do things right, we actually have a friend who is a plumber who did the replumbing and re-sewering, and Jonathan got to know him (he had never worked with him before and worked will with our plumber and both were extremely professional. Some contractors like only to have their own subs do the work, and don't like to work with other builders, but this made sense for us to use our plumber, and Jonathan was cooperative and made it easy and worked well with our plumber. There WERE many change orders, but they were driven by us deciding to increase the scope and do more things as we got into it. This is a testament to Jonathan's work, because we felt comfortable with him, and knew he was honest, increased the scope because we knew he would be honest and reasonable on the pricing of change orders/added scope (he was very much so) and we saw the quality of the work. There was one change order that was not driven by us, it was driven by the city, who required more extensive footings. However, I cannot complain, because Jonathan had warned up front that could be a possibility, And most importantly, we are thrilled with the results. The quality is high Again, I cannot give enough kudos to Jonathan. He is what all contractors should aspire to be.

Unfortunately, we never received anything , not even a follow-up message or explanation. We specifically reached out to him because of his excellent reviews, so this experience was surprising and disappointing. Personally for me not following through on a clear commitment and not communicating at all reflects poor work ethic and reliability. Based on this experience, I would not recommend their services.

He helped us coordinate with the insurance company, and got to work almost immediately. I was shocked by how efficient he was at coordinating the different subcontractors who installed the floors, cabinets, counters, tile backsplash, painters, etc. It was like a well oiled machine with almost no days where work wasn't being conducted, including Saturdays. My wife and I went into the process of looking for contractors expecting we could be without a kitchen for months. Turned out, with Palatin, the whole renovation only took about 4 weeks! If anyone has been through a major renovation, and had to get temporary housing, you know there is nothing more valuable than limiting the time away from home... except the quality of the work. Luckily, Palatin did not disappoint in quality either. We LOVE our new kitchen. The cabinets are great quality and look amazing. The counters are beautiful. The backsplash is pure art, and the floors and moulding are exactly what we wanted.
