We highly recommend Jonathan Almagor of Mayan Home Builders (license #1107341), and his outstanding teams of workers who recently completed a remodeling project for us that included 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, an upgraded electrical panel and exterior stucco. We were highly impressed by Jonathan's dedication to providing an excellent final result, his responsiveness and availability and his efforts to try to keep costs down for us during this period of inflation. He is a person of integrity who takes pride in standing behind the work of his company, which matters a lot when dealing with all the moving pieces of permits, construction schedules, materials and inspections. We appreciated his good nature and patience when waiting for inspectors to arrive for inspections, his flexibility in scheduling meetings with us, as well as his knowledge, explanations and thoughtful design suggestions. We extend our thanks to Jonathan and his great workers for the excellent end result of our project and in addition to Jonathan, who oversaw everything, wish to extend special thanks to Chico, his foreman, Liliana, who ordered materials, and master painters, Oscar and Tony. read more

We had this builder come to our home on a Sunday to provide a bid. During the visit, he clearly told us we would receive the estimate by Thursday. Unfortunately, we never received anything , not even a follow-up message or explanation. We specifically reached out to him because of his excellent reviews, so this experience was surprising and disappointing. Even if he decided not to take on our project, a simple update or courtesy message would have shown professionalism. Personally for me not following through on a clear commitment and not communicating at all reflects poor work ethic and reliability. Based on this experience, I would not recommend their services. read more

Mayan Home Builders was a delight to work with. Jonathan is enthusiastic; accessible; easy to work with; excited by the project that we were developing with him. He came to our residence to see the space we were looking to convert to an ADU, engaged with to learn our concept and vision, and converted those ideas into sketches and drafts, making suggestions along the way that would improve the design and potentially save costs. We were also impressed that so much is done in-house--design, engineering, construction, permit mgmt, etc. He was flexible and amenable to work with our schedule as we developed our project. An exceptional experience, and looking forward to the opportunity to with Mayan again. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND If you're looking for general contracting of any kind- Mayan is who you want! Navigating the countless avenues for a reputable and well established company was grueling. After a lot of research we found Mayan Home Builders, and I couldn't be more happy with the entire experience! From start to finish, the kitchen renovation was seamless and completed ahead of schedule. We had several quotes, and not only was their pricing the best, but the quality of work was absolutely outstanding. Our new kitchen is gorgeous. The owners expertise and hands-on approach were evident every step of the way. His team of professionals were a joy to work with on a daily basis. Every detail was meticulously handled, and the end result is beyond what we had imagined. They are pet friendly and very mindful of what's important to the customer. I recently had Mayan Home Builders complete an above-the-garage room addition at my home in West Hills, CA, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I had some very specific requirements--most importantly, I didn't want the addition to look like an afterthought but rather a seamless part of the original construction. Jonathan and his team were incredibly attentive and made sure every detail aligned with my vision. They took great care to minimize the impact on our daily lives during construction, which I truly appreciated. The exterior siding, roof line, and interior flooring were all matched perfectly, and the finished project looks like it has always been part of the house. Everything was completed to my satisfaction, and I highly recommend Mayan Home Builders for anyone seeking quality craftsmanship and a team that genuinely listens to their clients. --Dan Moore read more

We had a recurring issue with water getting into our apartment. Yonatan and Mayan Home Builders were incredible to work with. From consultation to installation, they were professional, responsive, and made the whole process easy. We initially contacted Mayan for our ADU So we met with Jonathan, His good vibes and professionalism are what closed the deal for us !! We've decided to remodel our bathroom while we are waiting for our permits. This was a great decision to make, Because we've got to see the quality of work on a smaller project before moving on to a more complicated and longer one. The job was done so fast!!! the workers were super professional nice and made sure to leave everything clean at the end of each day. Johnathan was there for us for every question or concern helped us with the design & choosing the material. Can't wait to get the permit and start the new project with him. What a wonderful experience! Really and truly! Jonathan came to meet with us on short notice because we had a leakage issue in our pool/back patio area. He recommended a third party, which gave us a report showing us that the leak came through the plaster because of some large cracks. We sent the report back to Johnathan and agreed on a fair price, after which he started the work. Jonathan and his team arrived promptly on the first day, and from there on out, made sure to accompany us until the very end. He made sure to always be in daily contact with us through all stages of the work. After so many horror stories, I'm so grateful to have chosen Jonathan and Mayan Builders, and the fam and I are suuuper looking forward to enjoying our pool again once summer hits :) Trust me, just ask for Jonathan, and everything else will be smooth sailing! read more

We just finished multiple projects with Mayan builders, and we had a great experience. My first idea was to add approximately 100 sqf bathroom addition to the main house, and we decided to add to the plans a new ADU unit instead of the existing garage. I met with Jonathan, the owner of the company, and he create for me a beautiful layout for me for both projects. after we waited several months for the city's approval we got the permit to start. Jonathan was guiding us hand in hand through all the stages of the project, and we finished in a shorter time than we had planned. I have contracted Jonathan previously with his former company in transforming one of our rooms to a beautiful salon suite. When I wanted to upgrade our fence after a recent incident I thought about Jonathan right away. Now he has his own business Mayan Home Builders. He came over at our place and suggested improvements. He sent in a quote and he made arrangements to see the materials in person. Once he got the materials we quickly arranged for a schedule for the construction. The finished product was so nice and we instantly fell in love with it. You can see the before and after pictures! read more

Had a very pleasant experience with the quoting process with Mayan Home Builders. Their offer was fair and reasonable, however we just couldn't afford what we were asking for at the time so we had to scale back our project. But Jonathan was very professional and made recommendations to suit both a professional job while sticking to our budget. Thank you, Mayan. read more

Jonathan came to my house to tell me if building on my hillside was possible. He spent a lot of time with me and gave me different scenarios. Then he contacted his engineer to look up zoning and other requirements for the project. He got back to me very quickly with the answers. My neighbor is having an ADU built by this company and the structure is going up quickly. This is why I contacted them in the first place. I would recommend Mayan Home Builders. read more

I had amazing experience with Mayan home builders! Jonathan was my project manager from the beginning he stood out I interviewed 2 other construction companies and Mayan builders was the third bid. I am so grateful that Jonathan was last so I was able to compare attention to detail from our very first visit. He was knowledgeable, and proposed couple options for converting my garage into guest bedroom / office. I chose option too and signed a contract I was still a little skeptical due to previous experience with the contractor however Jonathan was AMAZING and had our communication line open the entire time the customer service was top notch, and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a solid company and excellent service! Never posted a review before. Project completed on time and on budget. read more

This is my 3rd overall remodel but my first time working with Jonathan and I can safely say that he is a cut above the rest. The attention, the level of care, the professionalism and the quality of the work is the best I have experienced and I would never do a remodel with anyone else! I am so appreciative, I feel like having Johnny on this project took an enormous weight off my shoulders and im truly grateful.
