I had the measurements for 9 windows with me and asked the woman at the front desk for assistance. She was immediately annoyed that she had to get up from her desk to assist me. She informed me that they do not work with homeowners because they don't provide installation. I told her we have a contractor for the installation but that I wanted to see what windows were available. She was then dismissive and told me I could look around but would need to have our contractor contact them with the window measurements for a quote. No thanks, we will spend the 50K at another company who has excellent customer service and wants our business.

I was originally quoted $5,500 for my windows, and the team has been incredibly professional--their employees are responsible and follow up with me consistently. What is truly unheard of in the construction business is what happened next: they actually lowered the final price to $5,300 without me even asking! Usually, prices only go up, so this level of honesty is refreshing. Even though I've had to get multiple quotes for every other trade due to some 'crazy' numbers out there, I didn't even bother looking for a second estimate for the windows. The initial $5,500 was a fair deal for my project, and the final $5,300--which includes the installation--is a total win. I'm looking forward to the next step, and I'll definitely be back to share how the installation goes!

I cannot recommend any business owned by, operated by, nor employing John P. Segura of LA…read moreRetractable Screen. In my personal experience, John Segura demonstrated unethical and legally actionable behavior, specifically with regard to his rental property business. As of Feb 25, 2026 (the date of this review), John is in violation of California Civil Code 1950.5 pertaining to Bad Faith Retention of a security deposit. Over a six-day period I sent John text messages, email and voice mail in an attempt to recover my security deposit and resolve the issue amicably. I gave John every opportunity to comply with the law (a full refund by 02/21/2026), and even provided him with references citing CA State law concerning tennant and landlord rights and responsibilities. NO response from John. In my final communications to John on Feb 24, 2026, I clearly stated my preference was to resolve the issue outside of small claims court, AND, if he continued to withhold my deposit I would file suit against him. Later that day (after two phone calls, one text message, one email) John replied, "In the mail", by text message. No other response. No apology. No guarantee when I might be paid. In an initial text message, I suggested direct payment via Zelle, but it seems check by snail-mail is John's preferred method. More delay tactics? Based on his choices/actions thus far, difficult to know if John WILL pay. Given the fact that my rent was paid in-full and on-time consistently, that I maintained his property in sound condition and returned his property to him in better shape (cleaner) than when I signed my lease, I am disappointed and disheartened by John's actions (improper use of security deposit) and subsequent inaction (avoiding contact and delaying payment). And I am most certainly annoyed I spent 6 days hounding John and STILL have not been paid. Lastly, I would not be leaving this 1-star review (zero-stars would be more deserving) if John had simply refunded my money in accordance with CA State law. I attest this review is an accurate and truthful account of my business dealing with John P. Segura. V/R David S Newbury Park, CA
