Quality Plus Computer is a blessing. Upfront about repair or replacement options and costs. Fast and friendly. The hard drive in my MacBook Pro suddenly crashed and because the hardware in Apple products is soldered in place, the entire motherboard has to be replaced which would've cost half of what I originally paid to replace it (although I bought refurbished so it wasn't too expensive to begin with). I also had the option to buy an entire replacement from them that was similar to the model that I had and was able to trade in mine for credit which gives me a nice discount so I went with this option. I also requested to replace the battery with a new one because I got a 2017 model and it was a fraction of what Apple charges and only took a couple of hours. There's a handful of employees at this business but Justin was the technician who helped me through this process and was very friendly and knowledgable. Peter went through the available options for me to purchase and was very helpful and informative as well. I highly recommend this place for your computer needs. This place is truly quality plus. The level of service and expertise here is beyond what I had expected. I had accidentally fried the motherboard on my Dell laptop (laptop was completely dead) while trying to fix an old external hard drive. I had sent them a message on Yelp, and Peter got back to me the same day asking me to stop by anytime that week for a quick consultation. They had a desk setup outside their shop with employees wearing masks. Miguel was a huge help in understanding my situation and explaining what options I had. Their pricing was very reasonable and consistent with the research I had done prior. I ended up choosing to not fix my motherboard (was already planning on getting a new laptop soon) and had just asked for them to safely recover my laptop's files/photos, which they were able to do in a day. I had never been to a PC repair shop before and was worried I might get swindled. Definitely not the case here. When I was in line, the owner had actually informed a customer that they were still covered under AppleCare and told them to take advantage of that warranty first. I've had my gaming PC for about 4 years now and it recently started to fall apart. The fans stopped and it started to over heat more often. Over the past 36 years, beginning with my first IBM-PC in 1987 -- a "computing powerhouse" with an 8088 "turbo" processor running at up to 16 MHz, with 640K RAM, a 10-megabyte hard drive, and both a 5-1/4" floppy disk drive and a 3-1/2" disk drive . . . in the good old days of DOS -- I've built and repaired desktop systems for myself and others, owned and upgraded 6 or 7 different laptops in the past 20 years. The down arrow keycap on my HP laptop broke a few weeks ago and I ordered a new replacement key, thinking I would easily be able to replace the key. Well, the problem is, two months ago I had cataract surgery. What's the connection? While my reading and distance vision has been restored to nearly 20/20 again, the lens implants have demolished my once impeccable close-up vision. I discovered that the first key I received just before Thanksgiving was the wrong one. The second one I ordered finally arrived in the mail yesterday (12/7/2022). As Homer Simpson would say, "DOH!" The problem is I just can't focus at the close distance to be able to visualize the clips for the hinge. So I checked Yelp! and Quality Plus Computer was at the top of the list of Best Computer Repairs Near Me. Yelp! reviews have rarely led me astray. I walked into Quality Plus Computer with my laptop and replacement key in hand, and they were nice enough to snap the key into place in about 2 minutes. My GARBAGE computer turned into a brand new computer! My computer wasn't charging and it would take minutes to load a simple website. My patience was at the bottom and I was about to throw this junk way until I came across this shop. A person who helped me was Miguel. He was kind enough to explain everything to me like I am five, as I know almost nothing about the computer. Just after few days, I went back to the shop to pick up my computer to hear Miguel telling me that there were more issues on my computer than he originally thought. But he generously replaced the troubling parts of the computer. Currently I am writing a review on my bed without a charger, using a super fast internet (it's a big deal for me since I haven't been able to use my laptop without it for so freakin long!) I have never owned such a fast computer before and this computer almost feels like brand new! The amount I paid was affordable, less than expected, and definitely worth it. Can see why this place has such great reviews- although I'm not able to comment on the quality of a full repair, these guys are so friendly and helpful that I had to leave a review. To start, Miguel met us promptly at the front door when we arrived around 10:30am. The door appeared locked but it was a relief when he came up to us right away when we neared the door. I was even more reassured when I realized there was a table outside set up for COVID precautions, so people waited in a line instead of inside the room. Miguel totally made our day- we stopped by just to get an estimate for an old MacBook repair. He was very honest about the value and the cost of the repair. He even went so far as to dust off the interior of the MacBook when we explained our issue with its interior heating system.
