I was more impressed with the service at Indie Music than at pretty much any other local business…read moreI've frequented. I was in the market for an acoustic-electric guitar upgrade. I shopped the larger chains and did a lot of online research before going to Indie Music. At the larger chains, I felt pressured every time I went to go try out some guitars. At Indie Music, that wasn't the case. I walked in and had the guitar room pretty much to myself to try out the different acoustics. There was no pressure to buy or answer a bunch of questions about what I was looking for. When I finally narrowed down the selection to 2 guitars, they were very helpful answering any questions that I had. They even went so far as to pull out several different guitars of the same model, out of the boxes, to show that each guitar may sound slightly differently. I was so impressed by their knowledge and friendliness that I bought my new guitar on the spot. They even gave me a good deal on my trade in. The day after I purchased my guitar was super cold and the humidity dropped to almost 0. 3 strings on the 13th and 14th frets wouldn't play. They told me to bring it right in and they made adjustments on the spot to get it working. I was told to keep them updated and bring it back so that they could get the guitar tuned in correctly. I'd recommend Indie Music to anyone!

Sucks to say I'll just be going back to Amazon or Music & Arts for my music equipment and supplies, but I'm not gonna support a business with rude employees. Prices aren't very good, I get that you can't compete with bigger businesses, but if I'm gonna pay more I at least want a decent experience.

Both of my children had been taking music lessons at North Main for over two years. We stopped…read moretaking lessons there in favor of something more local since we moved and as the old song says, you don't know what you've got till it's gone. The educators at North Main are not just well versed in music, but they're professionals. When we had lessons scheduled for 6:30, they started at 6:30...not 6:40 or even 6:50! The instructors knew how to make music FUN for our daughters- they practiced during the week and they couldn't wait until the next lesson. When we first signed up it was explained to us that if we missed a lesson for whatever reason that makeup lessons weren't promised, yet on the occasions that we did miss a lesson due to vacationing, sickness, whatever, they always managed to fit us in at another time. We tried two other places (that shall remain nameless) and the instructors were not in North Main's league. The owners didn't seem to care about anything but money. The kids were nowhere near as motivated or interested. Lesson learned: when I asked the kids if they wanted to go back to North Main Music one of them literally started jumping with joy. We had to wait a couple of weeks for spots to open up and everyone was delighted when we finally got the call. They even asked one of their students to switch time so that my kids could take lessons at the same time and the student was nice enough to agree. It now takes us an extra 20 minutes or so each way to drive to North Main Music but it's well worth it. Thanks, guys!

We were lucky enough to have Sue as our instructor--she is incredibly talented, patient, and such an amazing teacher. Within the first hour of our very first class, she had us making our own pieces! Sue makes sure every student's questions are answered and that everyone gets the individual support they need. Her love for pottery is truly contagious, and she spends each class cheering on her students, encouraging them to try new things, and helping them reach their goals. She also took the time to look back through our finished pieces with us, talking about what we had made, what we had learned, and how much we had improved throughout the class. By the end of the 10 weeks, we had a whole collection of pots that we had thrown, trimmed, and glazed ourselves. It was so rewarding to look back at what we created and see how much we had learned and improved. I loved the class so much that I immediately signed up for another pottery wheel class with Sue! I couldn't recommend Studio 550 and Sue enough, especially for anyone who is completely new to pottery and wants to learn in a fun, supportive, and welcoming environment.
