I bought an instrument from them on Reverb. I even agreed to buy a used gig bag they had on their site for $20, since the electric sitar that I purchased didn't have one The next morning, an hour before the store opens, "Paul" tells me to hold off on buying the gig bags because they can't find the instrument that I bought! He suggested I put in for a refund. I was not going to be the one to break the deal and I told him I was not interested in a refund, I wanted the instrument they sold me and was bought and paid for. A short time later, Paul tells me they looked all over and can't find it and sent me a refund anyway. They had the instrument when they took pictures of it and posted it on a Reverb two months prior! It was an oddball Electric Sitar/Guitar Did they think it might be rare or a prototype? Did someone offer them more money? Did they keep it for themselves? Did an employee steal it? I asked them to check with all of their employees and any surveillance footage, sales records, etc. If I had a music store and an instrument was missing, I would be raising heck! Especially something already sold, bought and paid for by a customer! I will never deal with this place again and I hope that no one does. Do so at your own risk! read more

Well, I had an issue with the guitar well after the return window and the folks here went above and beyond in helping to rectify the problem. I just found this place and it is every bit as good as most people write. I told them I was shopping to replace my current acoustic. I was directed to the acoustic guitar room and told to help myself to any instrument on the wall. Talk about low pressure. Later another MMM employee checked in and asked me how's it going. He proceeded to spend about an hour & half with me - even so far as hauling out a Martin D-41 that was in the warehouse. I didn't buy a thing, but that was OK. First amp had a lot of problems. A Mesa Mark IV wasn't repaired properly the first time. the second time I had to pay for the repair. Then I called and asked them to check out a Fender Supersonic for potential noise. I was told it was quiet on the clean channels and a little noise floor on the Lead channe. The truth was, I drove 70 miles round trip to try out an amp that had a lot of hum on the clean channels and a lot more hum when using the reverb. I requested a return call from the manager and never got one. They really couldn't care less. read more

I have now been coming here for just under 4 years and have built a good relationship with the staff (Jon and Eric, specifically). The only reason why I wouldn't go to Music Mill is if they didn't have what I was looking for, and that rarely ever happens. They've gone through multiple improvements: they've made space for an amp room, an acoustic room, have taken on multiple guitar pedal brands, and do regular spring cleaning sale events to keep their inventory fresh. The staff continues to be knowledgeable and extremely pleasant to deal with. Their used selection is second to none. You will find no fairer prices anywhere else in the area; their return policy (45 days, no questions asked) is pretty much the best I know of. Even with the arrival of Guitar Center nearby, with the way that Music Mill is being run and operated, they remain THE place to get your gear. read more

I just picked up my electric after a set-up and restring and am very pleased. I've had a nylon string guitar restrung here, as well as another steel and the prices are very fair and work is superb. With Daddy's Junky Music going out of business it's nice to see a local business such as this one doing so well. Good selection of merchandise in this tiny amd cramped little space. A little disappointed with the quality of used gear. Understandably it's used, but some stuff was so beat up it should have donated to a school music program. In terms of sales staff, I have one piece of advice, let the customer play the instrument. After watching the salesman play guitar for 15 minutes, I left. The customer can only decide on a purchase after they actually hold and play an instrument. Crazy, I know. 3 stars is based off the fact that it's one of the only local music places around. But with an experience like I had today, it may not be for long. read more

The new location is so cramped. Hard to even browse, everything is so tight and if a few people are in there you cant walk through the aisles. Pros - Nice guitar selection. Some nice rics and gibsons in there. Good amp selection too. Drum room is decent. Cons - Pro Audio is a joke here. Also I asked a guy where the keyboards were, he told me in the acoustic room. I went in the acoustic room and they had 3 keyboards 0-o. ehhhhhh lol. Its really just a guitar shop that sells some drums. Not a real full fledged music store. Dady's always had a decent selection of keyboards, rack effects, mixers, drum machines, and other pro audio stuff. This spot is just good for guitars. read more
