I could spend all day here listening to Gino Stories. I brought a 40-year-old bass here because the guitar tech in the back of the shop is phenomenal and regionally renowned. If not nationally. Despite being completely booked, he found time to tune it up a little bit and give me some great advice on my next purchase. I found this place on the recommendation of a small store in woburn center. The front of the store is all guitars and gear and gino. Yes there is a Gino at least I think that's his name. There are probably at least fifty or seventy five beautiful guitars and basses for purview and plucking, but you have to be very careful. Gino provides a great illustrious story for each instrument. And will talk endlessly about them. You can tell that he is a consummate guitarist end musician. Very outgoing. And communicative. I bought an old Ampeg cabinet a pedal and a soft-case for my bass. Very reasonable prices. Very reasonable advice. Fantastic selection. Not to mention the genius in the back of the store that can find a fix for anything and knows everything about anything guitar. Easily worth a 45 mlnute or more long drive to get here. You won't be disappointed even if you walk out of here empty handed. The place is a music school, museum and an ICU for stringed instruments electric and acoustic. One of a kind without a doubt. Is it the eighth wonder of the world? I brought Pat a couple of my father's old Martin guitars (mid 70's and mid 20's). The transformations were amazing, returning the guitars to their original glory. Some of the extensive work included re-setting necks, fixing body damage, and period-accurate bar frets. He's currently working on another mid-20's Martin and the progress so far is spectacular. Pat works exclusively with Martin, Taylor, and Collings guitars. He was highly recommended from a number of area guitarists and he has exceeded all expectations.

I don't know if it's changed, but I heard that the guy that used to work at the front is part of ownership so I'm not sure anything's changed. The individual was not particularly friendly. I felt sorry for him in a way - kind of a dour dude. I bought an instrument from them on Reverb…read more I even agreed to buy a used gig bag they had on their site for $20, since the electric sitar that I purchased didn't have one The next morning, an hour before the store opens, "Paul" tells me to hold off on buying the gig bags because they can't find the instrument that I bought! He suggested I put in for a refund. I was not going to be the one to break the deal and I told him I was not interested in a refund, I wanted the instrument they sold me and was bought and paid for. A short time later, Paul tells me they looked all over and can't find it and sent me a refund anyway. They had the instrument when they took pictures of it and posted it on a Reverb two months prior! It was an oddball Electric Sitar/Guitar Did they think it might be rare or a prototype? Did someone offer them more money? Did they keep it for themselves? Did an employee steal it? I asked them to check with all of their employees and any surveillance footage, sales records, etc. If I had a music store and an instrument was missing, I would be raising heck! He recently charged me $125 to change the strings on an acoustic and adjust their height, an action which I observed literally take him 30 seconds to do. The strings were cheap and of low quality, made the guitar sound worse than before, and he messed up my instructions to raise the strings, which he lowered initially then blamed me claiming I had mis-instructed him. He also didn't have the decency to tune the guitar. Very sloppy and exploits his customers. He's insulted me on repeated occasions claiming he's only joking when I barely know the guy. It's unprofessional. He sold me a decent Telecaster several months ago and treated me alright at first but I've had it with his store. There is a reason several Guitar Center employees have informed me that they get many customers complaining about their experience at Bill's Music Center.

The box was crushed, and I had to drive 40 minutes to another Guitar Center to return it. It was incredibly disappointing to see a beautiful ukulele ruined before I even had the chance to play it. I'm hoping Guitar Center makes it right, but this never should have happened in the first place. Much better packaging is needed when shipping instruments.

Scott is the most unprofessional owner I've ever come across. I originally brought my guitar into…read morehim on a Saturday because I was getting fret buzz on my acoustic electric. He told me it just needs a neck adjustment and it would be $35 and it would be done on Tuesday. The guitar is only worth about $300 but Scott assured me it would be like new once his tech works on it. Someone else called me on Tuesday and told me that it's not just the neck - the frets need to be filed down and it would be done the following Tuesday because the tech is only in once a week. The price would be $80. I should have just bought a new guitar at that point but it was already there so I agreed to wait a week. I called every week for a month and they kept telling me it would be done the next week. Finally, after a full month of what should have been a 3 day job, they call me and tell me it's all set. I go in and tell Scott that I'm frustrated that I waited a month when he and his workers promised me a week. He was condescending and rude and told me that I should have known a job like this takes a long time. An employee brought my guitar down and started playing it and it still had fret buzz on the top two strings. The tech told me to bring it back next week and he'll do more work to it. It's been a week now and the buzz is back on all 6 strings worse than ever so I'm not bringing my guitar back there. Now I'm out $80, didn't have a guitar for a month, and my guitar is worthless so I have to buy a new one. I'm in spitting distance of Smash Music and I'll never go there again because of Scott's unprofessionalism, carelessness, and lies. I'll be sure to let all of my local musician friends not to support this guy.
