I am one of those people that would really prefer to not be helped in a store, but judging the quality of a musical instrument is over my head, so I was pretty sure that there was no way to reasonably avoid assistance. Lucky for me, the owner was an extremely nice person with a no rush, no nonsense approach to explaining both his available instruments and services (such as lessons for the clueless beginner or installation of fine tuners). Furthermore, Dracut Music Center is more than happy to special order anything that is not currently available in the small but very well stocked store. When I did make a selection, he carefully talked me through some of the basics to ensure that I understood what I was getting myself into. His extra time and care have definitely won my allegiance.

I got a Martin guitar for less than $750 bucks, Joe also gave me a discount code without me asking for it. A couple of weeks after the sale one of the strings broke, I called, Joe told me to come on in. I got a coffee at the shop next to his, by the time I got my coffee my guitar was fixed at no charge. I was astonished And I should say every time that I bought a guitar there I felt uncomfortable. but at the time they were really the only game in town for Taylor guitars. I don't know if it's changed, but I heard that the guy that used to work at the front is part of ownership so I'm not sure anything's changed. The individual was not particularly friendly. I felt sorry for him in a way - kind of a dour dude. I bought an instrument from them on Reverb…read more I even agreed to buy a used gig bag they had on their site for $20, since the electric sitar that I purchased didn't have one The next morning, an hour before the store opens, "Paul" tells me to hold off on buying the gig bags because they can't find the instrument that I bought! He suggested I put in for a refund. I was not going to be the one to break the deal and I told him I was not interested in a refund, I wanted the instrument they sold me and was bought and paid for. A short time later, Paul tells me they looked all over and can't find it and sent me a refund anyway. They had the instrument when they took pictures of it and posted it on a Reverb two months prior! It was an oddball Electric Sitar/Guitar Did they think it might be rare or a prototype? Did someone offer them more money? Did they keep it for themselves? Did an employee steal it? I asked them to check with all of their employees and any surveillance footage, sales records, etc. If I had a music store and an instrument was missing, I would be raising heck! Especially something already sold, bought and paid for by a customer! I will never deal with this place again and I hope that no one does. Do so at your own risk!

I emailed and got a response the next day. I picked a time for each and took them to their first lessons. Both teachers are patient and great with the kids.
