They treat their customers with the utmost respect. The long black-haired death metal guy who works here (Brendan) is an incredibly kind and friendly salesperson. Every time I come here, they make me feel welcome. Skip the Music Emporium and spend your money here instead. The spirit of Matt Leff is alive and well thanks to kind, well-meaning salespeople like Brendan. I never feel rushed or pressured and I almost always have to stop myself from talking Brendan's ear off whenever I visit. I'm sure even if I did annoy him, he might never even show it.

This shop doesn't have that corporate sanitation feel. everything is in its proper place but with a more eclectic atmosphere. I've played drums, bass, and guitar here with so many different local musicians in so many genres, it has helped me to grow and develop my skills for each instrument. It has, without exaggeration, changed my life. If open mics aren't your thing and you just want a place to buy an instrument, it's great for that too. Unlike bigger chains like Guitar Center where they just want your money and kick you out, you can have a long conversation with the people working here to make sure you're purchasing the instrument right for you. If you want lessons or you have a kid you'd like to get into music, this is the place for that, too. Often you'll see the Rick's Music World students play at the open mics and I used to think "A student? Eh, this won't be too good" and they always blow me away. Friendly staff welcomed me and directed me to the service area on the left. System was down so they weren't sure if they could do in one day or tomorrow but they called later and it was done. Super speedy! The store was clean & organized, seemed like they had lots of instrument options and a couple rooms to try them out. Lots of parking as this is in the cloverleaf marketplace shopping center with the new Aldi, Wine store, harbor freights and the Hampton Inn. Inn.

Despite its proximity to me, I had never really shopped at TJ's. I don't know why, maybe the long…read moretime thought that it was simply a drum shop... I don't know! After hearing of their good name in amp repairs, I took mine in to get fixed. After getting it back, the amp started acting up during the first show,l with the same problems as before, only worse. I reached out to the TJ's team who vowed to make it right. They took another look at it and had some ideas, but also felt like I may be throwing more money at it to still have problems we determined a new amp would probably be the best solution. They were kind enough to credit me the amount paid for the unsuccessful repairs, even though hey spent time and money to do the work, and got me equipped with an amp I absolutely love. Nobody is perfect, and my amp wouldn't have been in such bad shape had I taken better care of it. No, the repairs weren't successful but he only thing I really lost was one show without an amp, going direct, because of an unexpected fault. They went above and beyond to make up for that and I leave there better off. I'll most definitely be sending my business there way going forward.
