On site, the design and install team did a great job keeping things simple. The entire system, including battery and thirteen panels, was installed according to Ramiros's expert design within just four hours. Good quality hardware was used to tie to the roof, which was inspected by our roofer and given a big thumbs up for not causing problems. But even before that, David our site survey tech, gave us the sense that all would proceed well, as he collected necessary data by drone, and made a favorable first impression with his personable approach. Toward the end of the multi-month process, which included time to get a new roof installed, we passed city inspection with YES tech, Dario, an extremely courteous young man, present to ensure we made it through that last step and PTO (permission to operate). YES has an excellent and well-deserved reputation because of these people and others who worked on our behalf. The company can do better automating some of the process, and to be fair, they say they are working on transitioning to a CRM software solution for this purpose. But, I can say that over a period of several months, I had excellent communication with many helpful people. Skyler in customer service was my primary contact and that made all the difference. We were later charged $500 with no prior breakdown or explanation of the fee. I clearly communicated that I would be the one paying this charge. Despite that, the service department reached out directly to the buyer and asked who would be paying. This unnecessary contact created confusion and complications during the escrow process that could have easily been avoided. The lack of transparency on the warranty transfer fee and the poor internal communication caused more stress than necessary. Businesses handling real estate-related services should be more careful with both contract clarity and how they communicate with parties involved in a transaction.

He was extremely knowledgeable about solar and made the process of designing our system straightforward and easy. Because I had travel plans, we couldn't start immediately, but the Syndy team scheduled our installation for Jul 27 - 28. Everything went exactly as planned. The materials arrived on Jul 24, and Martin and his crew, showed up right on time at 7:45 AM on Jul 27. They worked incredibly hard, efficiently completing most of the installation that day and returning the next day to finish the remaining panels and cleanup. That evening, seeing our panels generating solar energy for the first time was an amazing feeling! PG&E installed the Tesla Backup Switch a few days later, and everything seemed to be moving perfectly - until our Livermore city inspection on Aug 7. Unfortunately, we failed because an approved heat detector had not been installed. I was extremely disappointed. It felt like having an amazing present sitting right in front of me but not being able to open it! There were a few additional hiccups, but Jason stepped in, took ownership of the heat detector issues, and worked to get everything resolved. We finally passed inspection and received our permit on Aug 26, followed by PG&E Permission to Operate (PTO) on Aug 28. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. The following day, I received an invoice for the labor, which was competitive. I believe the cost was considerably lower than what many other solar companies would charge for a similar service. Come to find out, they overcharged us by a significant amount and gave us an older inverter and did not actually recommend enough panels. We didn't do our research but shame on them for not being ethical. Our true up bill has been about $600 each year so that is expected and still saving us money even with the over charge and too few panels. However starting in 2024 things changed. The timeline of failures: 2024 System Failure: The system was completely offline for multiple weeks over the year, causing our utility true-up bill to increase from ~$600 to over $2,000. Delayed Service: We reported the outage in December 2024. Service was not completed until April 2025, extending the period of failed production. April 2025 Service & New Failure: Technicians restored solar production on April 11 but caused the system's battery to fail, rendering it useless for backup or consumption. (We requested the battery to be switched to max consumption which never happened so we have been losing money from that as well.) September 2025 Catastrophic Failure: During a battery replacement, the technicians caused an electrical short that destroyed the inverter. The system is now completely inoperable with zero production from solar or battery. Ongoing Impact: A replacement inverter is not expected until December 2025, exposing us to further excessive utility costs from 100% grid consumption - literally it's as if we have no solar but we are still paying our monthly loan amount and paying for all the power from the grid. Management continues to deny any compensation for lost production, stating they don't guarantee performance issues. There are no performance issues, literally there is zero performance as there is no inverter and no battery. Do not buy from this company, as you can see from BBB and other reviews they are not to be trusted!!!
