I thought of myself as reasonably competent in IKEA assembly. That was at age 60. Now, at age 67 I find myself totally incompetent. I went with Quality Assembly because they responded right away to my request. I did have to wait two weeks to have my gazebo from Costco assembled but there was no rush. On day 1 of 3 I noticed two boards that were damaged significantly. They made a very poor attempt to glue the pieces back together and failed to use a C clamp or similar it to secure the pieces together. Glue was dropping out of the gaping cracks. Delmar insisted that the integrity was still intact and there would be no problems. On day two, his helper failed to show to assist with the completion. On day 3 job done. I noticed more chips out of the wood and several areas on the roof where light was visible through small openings in the roof paneling. I found Quality Assembly online and an ad that says first time customers get 10% off if I liked their page on Facebook. I showed Delmar my Facebook showing that I liked the page and requested the 10% off as the advertisement indicated. At this time, he claimed that the $450 quote provided included a 10% discount already yet was unable to tell me what the full regular price was. I then asked about knocking off of the cost due to the damage caused to the boards. He began to interrupt me and talk over me and suggested $20 off. I accepted only because he appeared upset and unwilling to negotiate any further. He talks a lot of customer satisfaction but when it comes down to paying he gets stiff and does not want to flex. There was no paperwork, no invoices, or anything. They did assemble the gazebo but I feel they were careless and caused permanent damage to an item I paid a lot of money for. I also feel the effort to make a repair was substandard. The price was fair but considering the damage and not honoring the 10% discount (I felt he lied), I thought $400 would be more reasonable. My opinion, get your price in writing, check product for damages. read more

Consumers cannot put enough emphasis on the value of good service. Delmar and Quality Assembly provided what I consider "text book" exemplary services for the installation of IKEA furniture that was recently purchased for our son's first apartment. Initially, I had contacted Delmar several days before buying the furniture and because of the short window and commitments to other clients, Delmar didn't want to over commit and reluctantly declined. He did try to offer some alternatives dates of installation, however, we were unable to make any of those dates work. We bought the furniture and arranged for IKEA to assemble. Prior to that Delmar followed up to ensure all was okay, and again, did offer to install on another date, or to call him if anything went wrong with the IKEA installation. Well, as you can guess, we did have issues the IKEA installation, leaving several of the most important pieces left to be assembled. I immediately contacted Delmar and scheduled a time for him to complete installation. Not only did Delmar follow up to confirm time and date of installation, he was fifteen minutes early. Delmar did a fantastic job, was very reasonable and fair for cost of his services and removed all debris from my son's apartment once the job was completed.
