It's solid for Bellingham. It's definitely not the best American Chinese food I've ever had, and it's odd to me that there is no real lo mein on the menu, but it hit the spot when I was craving some General Tso and beef with broccoli. When you can't jump the border and desperately need some Chinese food, it's a good option. It's open every day, so that is also a plus. I ordered via UberEats and got a deal, which was great, and it came within 15 minutes. It was hot and the General Tso was crispy (I asked for extra crispy). I had enough food for several meals and it did not break the bank. Overall, it's a decent choice for sticking hyperlocal, and there's a reason it's been a Western staple for so long. read more

This was the worst "Chinese" food I have ever had the displeasure of eating. We chose QQ Li's because they were open on Christmas and they could deliver. My friends ordered sweet and sour chicken and General Tao's chicken. I ordered Kung Pao shrimp. We also ordered hot and sour soup to share. The soup was flavorless and gelatinous glop. We each took one bite and couldn't eat another bite. The shrimp was essentially a container of celery and raw peanuts in a bland sauce with a smattering of shrimp and water chestnuts. Not enjoyable. I have been eating here since I went to WWU back in 2008. I remember getting the pineapple chicken and lo mein combo on vendors row at college for only $5.25. Like everywhere else, prices have about doubled since then. I still think the one item combo is a good deal at $9.99. You get one full take out container that can easily last you 2 meals, unless you pig out like i do. The food is very good. I like that the lo mein doesn't have a lot of veggies since I'm not much of a veggie person. I have noticed a difference in the pineapple chicken the last few times. It seems like there is less sauce than there used to be. One recent time there was next to no sauce on it. This is the only think keeping this from 5 stars. Everyone who works here is very nice. I don't usually post reviews unless something is extremely good or extremely bad. This is the latter. We were just passing through town on our way back to Seattle and needed something quick to eat. Stopped at QQ LI . What a mistake. Low quality Chinese food for Americans who don't know Asian food. Tattered old pictures of their menu offerings taped all over their main counter. The guy behind the counter is a zombie. Not even a hello to acknowledge our existence. My wife tried to strike up a conversation but he acted like our presence was a nuisance. Couldn't care less what we ordered and whether we enjoyed the food or not. Absolutely zero personality. Restaurant has zero ambience. Boxes stacked against the walls next to a ratty old sofa which looked like it was sitting outside in a junkyard. Old, very old, tables and chairs. The owner(s) clearly don't care about their business. How does this abomination even exist? How do they stay in business? Who eats here other than out-of-towners like us who didn't know what they're walking into? One star because at least the restaurant appeared clean. read more

I'm a real fan of Chinese food. Finding a local place that is convenient and well priced is a great find. The one dish I really like is Kung Pao chicken. When you call in for a pickup, they have it ready in 5 minutes, every time! I've like it spicy and they do it perfectly every time. The full order is more than enough to fill you until the next meal. When you walk in, the place is pretty sparse and not very attractive. The main counter is where you pick up your order and they are quick to service you. Did I mention the price? This is one of the only places you can get a full meal under $10. Even a hamburger and fries cost more here. My husband loves the pineapple chicken! We went to QQ Li's all through college and the flavor brings back all those good times. My family ordered the pineapple chicken, mushroom chicken, and mushroom beef, plus a whole bunch of veggie chow mein and rice. The service was fast and the restaurant is clean but we did takeout so we only enjoyed the ambiance in passing. I can say though, that our little one was happy with the bathroom - she is pretty small and doesn't like loud toilets. The bathroom here was good and quiet. One more thing, my brother in law didn't know that to get the noodles or rice with your entree you have to order a combo. It's worth it, the noodles are super yummy! read more

My brother went to Western and ate at QQ Li's often while at school so when my family was passing through Bellingham after a day at Mount Baker, he wanted to pick up dinner from here. We chose the three entree family meal with the intention of having leftovers for the four of us. After much debate, we settled on pineapple chicken, sesame chicken and Mongolian beef to pair with the chow mein and fried rice. There was some concern that the Mongolian beef may be too spicy as it has a chili pepper next to it on the menu but I don't handle spice super well and I thought it was perfectly manageable. Both the pineapple and sesame chicken are breaded chickens and both tasted great but in hindsight I think I would have preferred one of the chickens to be unbreaded for a bit more variety. The chow mein and fried rice were your typical Chinese side dishes but they were good. We definitely had plenty of food for leftovers and ate on this for a couple of days. read more

I used to come to QQ Li's a lot. They were never super good but they weren't bad for the price. Another downside is that they don't have very good customer service...always super rude and acting as if you're wasting their time or simply a bother to them. During the covid pandemic I've noticed that their "friendliness" has gone way down. They are especially rude to people of color. They don't take your order right away even when you're ready to order nor do they ask if you're ready to order. This is truly disappointing because even though their food isn't the best I wanted to support their business and see them thrive. I unfortunately will not be coming back to QQ Li's. I've always liked everything I get from QQ Li's. Today I picked up the sweet and sour chicken fried rice combo and some dumplings. The sauce for the dumplings was amazing. The sweet and sour chicken portion was very large and super flavorful. The rice had too many peas for me (I'm allergic but just need to avoid them) but was really nicely done. Yum! It was a hot day in Bellingham and cooking didn't seem like a great idea, so we decided on delivery from QQ Li's. We ordered Mongolian Beef, Pork Fried Rice, and 2 soups (yeah, soup on a hot day - but who can resist). The food arrived quickly and hot, and was decent Chinese fare with large portions. The Mongolian Beef was a little light on the beef (and heavy on the onions) but the flavors were good. All in all I'd say this is standard local Chinese. This is my go to Chinese restaurant in Bellingham. Their prices are really nice (a 2 entree combo for like $7?) and I am always super impressed with the food. My roommate and I are also completely obsessed with their crab rangoons. Compared to their WWU on campus location, the takeout/delivery option is a lot bigger (and I think better). The delivery is also always really fast. Occasionally it is a hassle on the phone because it can be hard to understand what is being said, but this has only happened a few times. My go to order is half noodles half white rice with chicken with mushrooms and Mongolian chicken. I personally think that the chicken with garlic sauce is a bit spicy but it tastes really good, too. I used to always go to QQ Li's on campus and always was left with a weird unhealthy:greasy feeling afterwards. Well the actual restaurant has better, slightly less greasy food in my opinion so, if you haven't, you should definitely order food from here (so different from precooked food kept warm in rice cookers). It's typical Chinese takeout that you scarf down because it's so good and then regret for a bit afterwards. General T's is my go-to (again, much better when you order from here than when you get it at Vendor's Row) and I would highly recommend. I actually think that the biggest plus to QQs is the milk tea. I am a milk tea addict and most other places in town are either too far away to be convenient or have cruddy quality. QQs doesn't have Seattle quality drinks but it's good nonetheless! read more

The staff are friendly, and very helpful when you ask for suggestions. Went on a Wednesday night and the place was empty and the food came out about 10 minutes later. I ordered the 3 meal combo and chose chicken with garlic sauce, sweet and sour chicken and Mongolian beef. Chicken with garlic sauce - Garlic sauce was delicious, nice semi-spicy taste and alongside the well-cooked chicken, the combination was nice and the dish comes with vegetables that are paired well with the sauce. Sweet and sour chicken - Sweet and sour sauce was quite sweet without much sour (which I think is the norm now-a-days). The breading outside of the chicken gave the chicken a nice crunch where the chicken itself was pretty chewy, but not too excessive. No vegetables in the dish so this was my favorite out of the 3 . Mongolian beef - Beef was delicious and the sauce was light and tasteful. Vegetables were also good and went well with the sauce. I mixed the vegetables and beef with the fried rice I got for a side and it was very yummy. I did feel a bit greasy after I finished but not too bad. You're mostly paying for quantity when you order from here so keep that in mind. The restaurant environment is not much of an environment at all so I would very much suggest takeout. From what I heard, they really changed their menu from that of the past. The food is no longer so greasy and heavy. I tried the Mandarin Chicken and Tofu Vegetable and had a decent experience with it. The Mandarin Chicken was basically soy sauce and some sugar with stir fried chicken. It's not exactly your 5-star dinner but for the price, I think it's all you can ask for. As for the tofu, I felt it was a bit weird having it in a sweet and sour type sauce. QQ Li was super cheap, and I wanted some broccoli in my food so I went in to get some beef and broccoli, which was only like 6 or 7 bux, nice price. But wait! It got better! Not only did they cook your food to order, but you could order your own plate with different foods on it, like at a food court in a mall. So i got vegetable fried rice, beef and broccoli, and pepper chicken. HANDS DOWN THE BEST RICE I HAVE EVER HAD. I could not believe this steaming hot, perfectly cooked food was only 6 bux. but the rice was AMAZING, it just had the best flavor, and I was with my brother who does not like chinese food and he cleaned his plate and raved about how good everything was. I enjoy the food here and the prices are really decent for what you get, but I have to knock them for 2 things: 1) The Asian man that works there (I see him typically in the evenings) is very rude and mean to his employees. I saw him yell at a (presumably student) employee twice in one night, and it was very evident that the employee was stressed and not deserving of such treatment. 2) The proceeds of the tip jar at the register do not go to those hard-working folks taking the abuse mentioned above. That money apparently goes into the owners' pockets. The young man who helped me told me that he only gets tips on deliveries he makes. Some good, some bad. Delivery review. Pros: quick delivery, polite on phone and at door, arrived hot, and nothing was spilled or leaking. Cons: no extra sauces, napkins or utensils added into bag, food was hit or miss. General Tso- what ever breading this had on it was swimming in a tray of sauce. Why does this still surprise me? No idea. Chicken with mush drowning in red sauce. General tso is very tasty when done right. It's not done right here Crab Rangoon- surprisingly good. They def make it there, as it is folded differently and has more filling than normal. Would order again. BBQ sampler plate- comes with extremely thin cuts of Kalbi ribs, beef, and pork. Pork was tender, beef tasted like soy sauce, and the Kalbi was not Kalbi. The meats had all been marinated, but they were not very good. Tasted like basic soy sauce with a little sugar. Disappointing. Singapore noodles- very simple dish to make, and hard to mess up. It's done well here. Large portion with good flavor. A bit short on the pork, but chicken and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Would order again. Final thoughts: your basic Chinese food.
