Went there with a group of friends. It was very small. Fits about 12 people by tables and seats 4 on the floor in the semi private area where it looks more like traditional tea seating, similar to Japanese style where you sit on the floor and fold your legs to sit. The place is very pretty but small. They have old fashioned traditional clothes to wear if you want to take old school pictures to look at if you're from the ancient era. The desserts definitely looked very pretty but not that great tasting. Had the mochi combo which was 3 mochis stuff with cream cheese and flavored jelly and Cokes with a pot of tea. We also ordered the mousse combo that also came with a pot of tea but think they gave us the wrong one because nothing that came out was even remotely close to mouse. The desserts tasted bland. Couldn't taste any flavors in them. The mochi was too over powered with cream cheese than that was basically all we tasted. The so called "mousse" combo was basically cookies, rice krispie pattie with cold tasteless cream on it, bunny jelly and chestnuts. Only thing that had flavor was the chestnut... everything else was basically no flavor. Came here because I saw a video on Instagram, now I'm learning not to trust those videos anymore....been disappointed twice already by falling into the hype and over glorifying of places from those videos.

Super cute! I loved the ambiance and seating. We were a group of 7 and we managed to sit inside the small room. The workers were compliant and nice. They recommend at most 4 people to sit inside but they let all of us in. The desserts were so cute and delicious. It was a great experience.

It's a cute little spot in the basement. The ambience is nice. The staff were good. And teas pretty decent. The desserts on the other hand were pretty bad. Mainly too sweet or it's just good to look at but not eat. I would come here to just get tea and chit chat. But dessert I will not get again.

Went with a friend and we really liked how different the pastry baked desserts were. They were like a hybrid of cookies and flakey pastry. It was kind of tucked downstairs in a basement but otherwise, enjoyed our teas and flower shaped pastries.

Kind of hidden underground but I found it to be a good spot to hang with a couple of folks and enjoy some desserts. The mung bean cakes were actually pretty decent.

Good amount of seatings. Pretty interior. The desserts were presented nicely and the staff members were kind. Free hanfu experience. Fun late night spot in flushing!

The dessert lab definitely was tucked away. The huge staircase can be a limit to handicaps. Downstairs is quite nice with cool decor. The desserts were not the typical desserts like ice cream. There are mochis and mung bean cakes irc.

QM Dessert Lab is a serene escape into the world of traditional Chinese desserts. The establishment is hidden in the basement, down some very steep steps, but upon stepping inside, the soft lighting, warm wooden tones, and classic, minimalistic aesthetic transport you away, to the perfect setting for afternoon tea and timeless sweets. * Dessert Combo 博古架 (酥点大合集) $36.99 Their dessert combos are thoughtfully curated, with an exquisite selection of mousse, mooncakes, pastries, and cookies. Best of all? Their desserts are "sweet, but not too sweet" if you know what I mean. It also comes with a pot of tea, and their Red Dragon Pu Er is simply delicious: mellow and smooth, with a sweet aftertaste. * Dragon Mousse 金玉满堂 $4.99 Soft, jiggly, and pineapple-flavored, with coconut jelly inside. Good, but get the bunny instead. Recs: - Peach Blossom Pastry Cake: crispy and slightly sweet with date paste inside - Walnut Cookies: crispy, fragrant, rich, and buttery - Peanut Pastry Cake: did someone say nutty? - Bunny Mousse: white rabbit candy-flavored, iykyk

Out of all the flavors I've tried here so far, nothing beats the rose milk tea. I also like the Thai milk tea but it doesn't beat the rose. The main problem I have with their milk teas is that every time I ask for less syrup (25,50%), I get no syrup. It's either full syrup or no syrup, which means too sweet or no sweetener. With the exception of the brown sugar milk tea, which had a clump of sugar syrup on the bottom, the rest of the times I asked for less syrup, I got none. I didn't realize the sugar syrup was clumped together at the bottom of the cup for the brown sugar milk tea. The 1st sip was extremely sweet since all the syrup came up. The rest of the drink was devoid of sweetener. I've tried the following milk teas recently: black sesame, jasmine, & brown sugar. I didn't like any of these because of the lack of sweetener. Anyway, learned my lesson not to ask for less sweet drinks here. I also noticed something weird when I went a few months ago. The employee had her phone stuck out from under the employee side pointed towards us. Seemed like she was recording. Weird. Anyway, the OD ( Thai tea) toast was sadly a bit too burnt for me that day. When I went again this week, the OD toast was on point. I always get Thai tea filling cream since I've learned from the 1st time that I got the mixed, the pandan has no flavor whatsoever.

I've tried the panda toast and the Thai tea toast. The Thai tea toast doesn't really have a strong Thai tea flavor but it is still very good. Mango shaved ice is very good. I got the ($14) Pandan jelly with Mango & Durian (sago pearls & coconut milk). I ordered it to go thinking the dish would be too big to finish, but it's actually very light and refreshing, and not heavy at all. There were diners there sharing one large shaved ice and I assumed most of the dessert soups would be just as big. But usually Chinese desserts are not overly rich or heavy. The staff said that they could switch out the Durian for extra mango, but they were nice enough to pack a little bit of Durian on the side for me to dry - and no! The whole dessert doesn't smell like durian. Everything was packed extremely well - the liquid was in its own little dispensing pouch. Very nice attention to detail. Pandan is an herby vanilla flavor from Southeast Asian. I think The noodles were made out of rice flour? It was like a soft creamy pudding thick noodle. You can easily scoop into them alongside the mango, coconut milk, sago pearls. Every part of the dessert was very fresh and not too sweet! Had to control the late night snack, and save the rest for the next day. Don't think this kept well, there was a lot of liquid that seeped out of the tapioca pearls or noodles (delicious pandan flavor still!)? But it still wasn't too stiff the next day. Excited to try as other items like the ginger, milk, pudding, but I think I made an excellent choice with this dish, and the price point seemed high at first, but each ingredient to be made fresh on the same day. I'll be back! Curious about the hot café foods too.

Flavor profiles were hitting in all directions I didn't know which one to pick as my favorite! Durian mango coconut pudding - Durian wasn't overpowering at all and the mango shined in this dessert. The mango was nice and sweet, yet tart, soft and not at all unripe. The durian bits were creamy and custard-y, while the coconut pudding served as the perfect base for the dessert. Light and smooth Taro with mochi dessert- This was a taro sweet soup and had the consistency as black sesame soup. The taro was potent and the aroma was very prominent. The mochi was nice and soft, yet chewy. I was not expecting to like this one as much as I did. Ginger pudding - Utterly delicious. The ginger flavor and taste was insanely strong and the pudding was jiggly soft. Not too sweet and almost tasted spicy in a sense from the ginger. Super solid pudding. I'd come back just to get this again honestly.

This classic and favorite dessert spot still has its magic. When we arrived, there was a line on both sides- to sit down and the to go order. Since today is our first visit here but not our friends, we patiently waited for our turn to get a table. Corner table is not bad. We picked one of their best selling items- banana split, 2 scoops of ice cream. Comes with free whipped cream , choice of syrup, rainbow sprinkles a cherry. Extra charge for any added item like any toppings. Price is reasonable for the serving size, it can be shared. The server is ready to give extra cutlery. A glass of water should be asked, not automatically given. There is nothing extraordinary for the taste of the ice cream except the fact that all flavors are home made. The 1930's decors, classic kitchen gadgets, existing old style but refurbished furniture's , is selling popular candies in early 30's and original atm machines version still working are things that make this place extraordinary , an additional things to look forward to and keeping customers coming back. A monopoly Queen's edition board game puts a smile on my face when I find out that they are selling it for a good fee and includes a $20 gift card with it. Right away purchased it. Definitely coming back to try their other popular and hot items. By the way when we are about to leave, there was a long line waiting for seats.

This is actually cheesecake rather than the lighter Japanese version, with a strong black sesame flavor. Hojicha creme brulee: this came as part of a promotion, and the taste is strong. Lighter flavor but the floral flavor does come out at the end of a bite. Coconut milk jelly: the lightest of the flavor but still sweet and flavorful enough to come through. There's a dusting of graham crackers and strawberry jelly to complement. We also got a hot matcha jasmine latte but it was actually cold. It seems like it normally comes iced and perhaps they have no way of warming up the jasmine part. There's a points program and tons of promotions that rotate. There have also been different desserts that rotate so I'll have to keep coming back to try more. They have a lunch special too where you can get a drink or dessert for less cost.

Each time, they seemed genuinely want to help, and made us feel welcome with their smiles and gentle demeanor.
