There are two options to choose from - there is a designated list and you can choose one rice dish, one "syrup", and one drink. I was very confused with what the "syrup" options were at the time, but realized later it was a dessert We got: * Lunch Combo Series 1) - Thai Pork Neck Rice, Peach Gum Soup, Tangerine Peel Lemon Tea $14.95 - The Husband really enjoyed the pork neck with the purple rice. For the filling, you get to choose 2 or 3 fillings, but we got 2 fillings to try out. We got the mango pomelo & strawberry with rice powder for the dusting. They accept cards unless it's $5 but they do not take discovery cards. Super fresh and not overly sweet, which I was surprised by. I never knew there was another food hall in the area and there were a lot of good food stalls. Even good coconut was there too. Next time I need to check out the other stalls

Easy to miss it if you don't know the store name since Golden Sponge doesn't indicate they're selling mochi unless you're actually there yourself or you see a picture from someone's review. Besides the giant mochi, they also sell very affordable sponge cakes ranging from $1 to $1.50. The giant mochi is getting viral for being the size of a huge blob and the different fillings you can have being stuffed inside (wrapped with the mochi) depending on various prices. My friends and I got the giant mochi with four fillings. Total turns out to be $14. We have chosen mango pomelo + cookie & cream + strawberry + lychee rose. We're amazed by the vibrant colors side by side next to each other. It is a very cool process to watch the staff make it in person. Would be best to eat the mochi freshly made. Don't try to eat it by yourself though because it's way too fulfilling imo. Best to split the whole thing between 3-5 people. The ratio of cream cheese to the fruit pieces is mainly 8:2 which I didn't expect it. To be honest, I am expecting more fruit and not only few pieces as garnish. Realistically, you're eating 80% cream cheese and 20% of the thin mochi consistency. If you're lactose intolerant, it might not stomach too well in your digestive system. The staff has mixed in everything together. However, I can't tell what I am exactly eating or if I can actually differentiate between the 4 filling flavors. Its presentation of the pastel cotton candy colors is top notch nonetheless. Picture worthy for IG/TikTok, although taste wise falls short from here for me. Overall, there's way too much cream cheese inside. Also, the mochi texture gets lost within the rich filling. The first two bites are fine. But as you keep digging in, you get the feeling of being overwhelmed by a sugar overload. Therefore, you will feel very full after just a few bites. Another thing is that, they should've provided chopsticks or forks rather than plastic spoons. Not gonna lie, but it's pretty hard to actually scoop the mochi up. Like I'm saying, I don't recommend this dessert for those who can't tolerate anything dairy. The giant mochi is officially a "once-and-done" dessert for me. Might be great for filming a viral video, but save that money for something else more worthwhile instead.

We ordered: Pandan Basque Cheesecake: the first thing you'll notice is the vibrant green color and signature burnt top. It had a subtle pandan flavor, soft, creamy and smooth interior. Rose Lychee Tart: this was filled with rose mousse and topped with pastry cream inside a crispy buttery tart shell. It's such a pretty looking dessert which tasted good. Pistachio Tart: Also filled with mousse and topped with pastry cream, this one was my favorite. The pistachio flavor worked really well, and I preferred it over the rose lychee. The buttery tart shell was excellent in both. Kiuh: These bite size desserts were soft, chewy and not too sweet. We got ones with Pandan and coconut, one with just pandan and ones with tapioca balls. The ones with tapioca balls had a slightly firmer texture and had more bite to it. $7 Daily Combo: Includes a drink and either a cookie or kuih. We chose the jasmine longan tea and pandan kuih. The tea was really refreshing with just a hint of jasmine and slight sweetness from the longan. It was served in a clear plastic soda can. They sell variety of asian inspired cookies, chewy kuih deserts, basque cheesecakes, drinks, and small single serving fruit tarts. They have an OK variety of sweets available for their Tangram stand, but it did seem like not many frequent this stall. The worker there at the day was nice but didn't really explain what the flavors were (I had to ask). They had a few promos (some non-descript until you look closer at the tiny signage they have). I got the buy 2, get 1 free kuih sets. I opted for the smaller sets (Each small set ($5) includes 2 pieces & a dipping pandan creme). I got a variety of flavors like coconut, pandan, peaflower, red bean, and corn. Overall, the taste was good, but I can tell that after a day, it would not have been good and would have needed a 10-20 second reheating in the microwave. Some of the negatives were that the pieces were cut inconsistently, set types were inconsistent with # of pieces (1 small set had 4 instead of 2), and the pricing per piece is a bit high ($2.50 per piece). The pieces were also a bit on the sweeter end (felt like 80% sweet). I think the Buy2Get1Free is a good deal, but would eat it same day in the future if you were craving sweet chewy Malay desserts.
