I see that fellow Yelpers have mixed feelings about this particular grocery store. I fluctuate myself, but have come down on the side of 4 stars. Yes, the layout of the store is strange, but cheers to the grocery store chain for taking an existing space and making it work, rather than building a behemoth of a store in its place. Yes, the prices are higher, but welcome to urban living. The produce and meat selections are better quality than Safeway in the same area, thus the higher prices. They do validate parking if you are there less than an hour, and they are open 24 hours. Their beer and wine selections are outstanding, and they have a great area with random home products (paint, pyrex dishes, laundry hampers, etc.). It gets four stars for the prices and the lack of enough cleaning products with bleach (I'm from the South, people, you need more bleach). Their produce department team gets 5 stars--every time I've had questions, they whip out their pocket knives and provide me a tasting of everything around. I know more about apples than I ever did before. read more

This QFC is super fancy and I like to walk around and look at all the shiny things. Sometimes I eat the avocado rolls out of their sushi case late at night when the avocado is turning brown and I STILL think they are delicious. But that's not important. What's important is that their beer guy keeps Iron Horse beer in stock!! Irish Death and my personal favorite, the Black IPA can be had here!! I don't know any other grocery in the city that can say that and believe me, I look. I sometimes try to convince the beer guy at the QFC by where I work to order it but he always "forgets." Whatever. Good grocery store. I shop here nearly every day. That's because I go to the gym first, and in the past, if you validated your parking with both the Gold's Gym above AND the QFC below, then parking in the garage was free. Not anymore. Now, even if you validate in both places, you will be charged for parking in the garage. Because I don't feel like paying $30 a week to park there and work out, I probably won't be coming here for very much longer. QFC should really have told the parking enforcement company in the garage that they wouldn't stand for this, since it's completely dissuading me from frequenting this location. I have an LA Fitness and a Safeway by my house in Burien, and it won't cost me a thing to park at either one. read more

This QFC is as good as it gets for an urban grocery store. The store is huge so it includes all the necessary grocery stuff but also a lot of general merchandise that a typical grocery doesn't have room for...it's basically a Fred Meyer store. Also, unlike some downtown urban groceries, the prices here are comparable to what you'd see in any Seattle grocery. The location of this QFC (along with the Pike/Broadway QFC & Madison Market & Trader Joes) allows me to do all my grocery shopping on foot, which is one of the best parts of living in Capitol Hill. The only annoying thing about this QFC is that its long frontage along Broadway creates a sidewalk gauntlet for pedestrians due to solicitors and panhandlers. A few times a year it becomes a playing field for the Save the Children solicitors in their blue flag-football jerseys. read more

This QFC is wonderful. Not only does this QFC have everything from produce to furniture to hardware supplies to key cutting services, but there's also a BECU, a Gyro World, and free parking with validation here. This is definitely one-stop shopping at it's best. read more

This is a very confusingly laid-out grocery store for someone who does not shop there regularly. You've got the big normal grocery area in the back corner, the deli/bakery area totally kitty-corner, with snacks and other stuff in between. Head upstairs for beer, wine, paper products (if I remember right, but I don't shop there regularly) and I think there's a pharmacy up there, too? This store's saving grace is its beer & wine selection. It has one of the biggest grocery store beer selections in town; there's so much space devoted to the beer that it would take actual effort for the selection to not be good. The wine section is also pretty good. That's not enough to save the store, in my opinion. I usually enjoy grocery shopping, and this is one of the few supermarkets where I become discouraged by the need to weave my way through differently-oriented aisles to hunt down the things that I want. Go there for the beer, find a more easily navigable store for the rest! read more

Ok. I wanted to like this store. I really did. It has good reviews. It has an interesting set up with food and household items. I came in July and my cashier was SCO (self check out) by default. Pros: *Nicely set up *Central location *Selection good for a city store Cons: *steep prices. I realize this is an in the city store so I am sure this is what people are used to here in Seattle. *People talked about this being an independent store and all the politics of that but it is Kroger store so how independent is that? * Their produce nothing compared to whole foods but is fine. * Checkout non existent so had self but two employees stood talking while the machines had problems. You have to get them to help. No service really at all. *Charged for bags at store. I know this happens in Seattle but it is annoying. *Supposedly validates but wasn't asked as we left so we paid $2 to shop. Real kicker: * to get discounts you need an advantage card. Had to ask how to get an advantage card and were told there wasn't one? They were out? What? Then an employee lets me use the one at another register. I wanted my own as it generates rewards. I ask to keep it as I will be coming in multiple times. Nope. So the employee gets the gas discount and I still don't have a card. My 50 plus fuel rewards gone to an employee who has accumulated over 3500 fuel points on this card. So obviously I am not the first person told sorry no cards. So this gives the employees an incentive to withhold cards for new customers. Can you say stealing? If they are taking from you it doesn't make you want to shop there. Much prefer whole foods but if you need stuff fast and nearby this could be ok. But just plan to do everything yourself from bagging, to validating to even giving cashiers gas! read more

Gross. Gross. Gross. First, I have been followed in the store MORE THAN ONCE by mendicants. Not okay. Hit me on the way out, and I get annoyed. Hit me while I'm in the store, and I get pissed. Second, I can smell the meat/fish counter. That is a very very bad sign. Third, who the hell designed that place? There are so many things wrong with it, I don't know where to begin. One should definitely take the patrons into account. So, if the patrons need to ignore each other and can't use their words, DO NOT set up a space so that people are constantly running into others. Blind corners, aisles and sections set up at diagonals and running into other spaces in an unorganized fashion. NO. The checkout stands! They are in the worst location. I hate this place. The redeeming qualities are: wine section, home items section, cheese. Really, there is quite a bit of stock items. I even found escargots - canned, of course. read more

I love this QFC. It has a good selection of affordable quality goods and it's conveniently located near bus stops. If you're in the hood, check out their cheese, beer, and wine sections. Some of the doughnuts are provided by Top Pot and are not bad even when they're not fresh. There's also a small sushi section if you're craving fish. It's also open 24 hours for those of us who'd rather shop in the wee hours of the night. One caveat: The Asian section is rather limited and is pricier than what you would find in Uwajimaya. $8 for a box of S&B Japanese curry mix? Wtf? read more

The pharmacy is painfully slow. They've dispensed the wrong medication , the wrong quantity and I've waited twenty-two minutes with one person in front of me and five workers in the pharmacy. It's always been sub-par service, but I get all of my prescriptions filled there each month and want the safety of one pharmacy dispensing, if there is a counter-action. Given their multiple Snafus, I wouldn't trust getting my dog's rx filled there anymore. Write down the Pharmacist and Pharm tech initials on your prescription and compare them with the licenses' posted. Report the discrepancies to the state pharmacy board and let them explain it to them. Substandard and dangerous dispensing if one were to ask my opinion. read more

Someone who works here had the brilliant realization that there was absolutely no need whatsoever to bake and sell their own donuts when Seattle institution Top Pot Doughnuts was right down the way. And to that person I say: Bravo. *slow clap* Brava. Deliciously located in the QFC donut case is a stunning selection of succulent pastries from Top Pot. And you should eat them. For like 99 cents (sometimes 69 cents with the advantage card) each you too can experience the joy I felt cramming twisted glazed down my gullet at a somewhat alarming rate. This addition has solidified the additional star to my rating. The beer and wine selection is second to none, the staff is always helpful and friendly, and essentially all of pros outweigh the cons (the strange layout and overall higher prices). PROTIP: The donuts arrive by 5am every morning, and a very nice bakery worker said they'll hold an order for you if you call ahead. read more

This store is the one thing Fred Meyer did right after they acquired QFC they kept the home stuff that Fred Meyer had in here when they combined as this is the only place on the hill to get pots and pans and some linens I think it was a great move the only thing that could be better would be a full out Freddie's or a Target I love to shop here the staff is really helpful and knows the store really well its not to often I can't find something but when I need help I get it Unlike Safeway who has taught there staff to just be annoying leave me alone and let me shop if I need help I will ask it would help if you paid attention to how QFC runs there stores read more

One of two QFCs on Broadway. This is the larger and better one. They sport a tri-level layout which features an upper level that is like a mini-Bartell drug store, a lower level which is a mini-Target (housewares, autoparts, vacuums) and the main floor which is your normal grocery. The prices are pretty much what you would expect at a QFC. The produce here si notiecably better than some other QFC locations. Nothing looks very appetizing at the hot bar which shouldn't be a huge suprise. The do have an underground parking structure which you can validate at which is convenient. Definitely the more 'Quality' of the QFCs on Broadway. read more

This is a great grocery store. They have a great fancy cheese selection, a very impressive wine selection (RIP Yancy), and an awesome beer selection. BECU and BofA are here. I really like the staff here, they're extra-friendly and helpful. They have more than what your average grocery store, utilizing all of the extra space downstairs for furniture, camping gear, linens, kitchen appliances, and other such things you wouldn't normally find at a grocery store. The prices for such equipment are comprable to what you would see at a Fred Meyer or a Target. QFC Broadway Market is totally my go-to store. Most grocery stores in the area can't hold a candle to their selection. read more

Recently I went to a party with some delicious sandwiches, fruit and cheese plates. I assumed from Whole Foods or Metropolitan Market. No, the host said, QFC. Well, for my son's first birthday party I decided to give them a try. I first called the deli with trepidation. I've hosted a couple of events before and the food is always the most stressful. They explained my options right over the phone and gave some good advice. I decided to go with some sub sandwiches and placed my order. On the day of I started having cold feet. QFC? For party food? No way. What was I thinking. I started brainstorming my backup plan. Well, we arrived early and my sandwiches were beautifully arranged on platters. They even included some extra pickles and dijon/mayonnaise on the side. The quality was great and the prices was very affordable. Couldn't be happier! How on earth do these deli employees keep their jobs? I am so tired of the attitude and incompetence of the night time deli staff. I am always pleasant and know what I want yet the staff continually gives poor service. The afternoon staff and managers are fine. Just avoid any of the eye rolling night shift employees. Last night I came in at 9 and apparently the cheese machine was turned off even though the deli doesn't close for an hour. This is just one offense in many. Don't ask for a specific thickness or cut of meat or cheese because they will do the exact opposite just to spite you. And they will definitely roll their eyes. And if you're getting a sliced softer cheese don't bother asking for them to separate the slices with paper because that is not going to happen. Instead they will throw it all into a bag and your $10 bag of cheese will become a giant clumpy mess. I spend thousands of dollars here a year and am always patient and respectful but I am beginning to reach my wits end with the people who work in the deli at night. If you hate your job find somewhere else to work because I'm sure there are plenty of people who will gladly give me the service I deserve. read more

No joke, spotted a mouse hanging out in a bag of tortilla chips here in the snack aisle. Apart from that though (hasn't happened again since that one time), it has the greatest mashup of club kids, barhoppers, college kids, concertgoers, and general weirdos from Thursday-Saturday night, peaking around 11PM-2AM on Saturday that is fucking fantastic people watching for reals. One weekend in February (read: def not anywhere near Halloween or antyhing like that) I saw a lady dressed as the back half of a giraffe buying two quarts of milk. So I was shopping here today and noticed a person standing (with nasty shoes) on the food warmer (table?) .. the gentlemen's feet was inches away from the trays of Mac N Cheese and other dishes... while they are exposed (no lid) .... @ 10:15 AM today. Cap Hill hipsters and street people alike cross paths at this Broadway QFC, and the outcome happens to be an amazing beer and wine selection. Go figure. I've literally been at other QFC locations checking out their beer selection only to leave and end up coming here instead. It's that much better. This section of their store alone warrants a 4 star rating, as the rest of the layout doesn't make much sense to me. It actually took me awhile to realize WHERE their beer and wine section is because it's kind of hidden in the back of the store up some stairs. Actually, a lot of things seem to be hidden in this store. Don't be surprised if you walk around aimlessly here searching for the items you need. Other than that, it's your standard QFC. Some items have fair prices, and others will leave you scratching your head wondering why on earth you would ever pay that much. You really have to pick and choose what to shop for here or you can get burned. My advice: come here to stock up on alcohol and then disappear into the night. read more

Reviewing any sort of chain is really all about the variations you can find since they thrive on consistency and uniformity. Having been force to shop a Safeway for several months I can say that QFC is an order of magnitude better. It's much cleaner, has a larger and fresher selection of quality produce, and the employees tend to have at least a minimal understanding of the products they offer and just where they might be located. The Broadway QFC has several features that set it apart from other QFCs and other grocery stores in the neighborhood. First, there's bulk fresh herbs available (rosemary, mint, basil, thyme, sage) for a fraction of the price of the small individual packages. Similarly there is a respectable bulk section where almost every spice and herb you're likely to need is offered, along with a good selection of dried fruits, nuts, and grains. Cheap, quality bulk is a major asset in my book. Third, there is a very good selection of microbrew/import beer and perfectly decent wine available, so unless you're menu includes cocktails you can find a good accompaniment in the upper level. Broadway QFC gets dinged mostly for the difficult to understand layout (salsa in two places? Canned products not grouped together?). They also are missing certain bulk items that I end up detouring to Whole Foods for in order to get them. All in all though QFC is a better than average grocery store. I recommend hitting up the Broadway farmers market on Sunday to find as many things on your list as you can, and then head to QFC to fill in the gaps. read more

This is my neighborhood store. It takes me about a minute to walk from my building to this QFC so needless to say I come here a lot. The prices change every day so be careful. My shampoo can be 4.99 one day and 2.99/3.99 the next so things like that I hold out until it's back down. Most fruits and vegetables are overpriced but since my only other lazy option is Amazon Prime Now-- I make do. But I do get my tomatoes and carrots from Amazon as it's quite a bit cheaper, but the quality can be hit or miss. The beer and wine are priced well, but they also do go up and down a dollar every so often. I try to stay away from the 6 packs as the 12 packs are priced considerably better. I cant in good conscious throw away that $4. What I dislike are the overzealous security. Unfortunately I'm not a 100 lbs blond girl so every now and then I do get the security following me making sure I don't steal the greek yogurt and organic whole milk in my hand basket. I'm not one to let it slide so I mentioned it to them and I'm sure it won't happen by that person again, but it does knock Seattle down a peg towards South Carolina and Georgia fashion. "The South, quit following me around." Ultimately, I'm still happy my building is right next to this place. And I'm even happy for the bad experience I most recently had. It just makes me know that my time here has come to an end and a more colorblind oasis awaits. Los Angeles? Portland? San Fran?? read more

1. Whenever you see a big yellow tag that says: NEW LOW PRICE... that means the price has been raised. I've seen that happen on stuff that I buy weekly all the time so I know it's true. 2. They've changed their bulk foods section so much it is now nothing but a joke. Half of the stuff I used to buy there weekly is no longer carried. The few bins that actually have what I buy are set up so the nozzle the item feeds out through is about three inches from a shelf so if you want to get a sizable amount, good luck. To combat that problem they now provide bags that are half the size of the bags you used to get so you can't get a larger amount, you have to get two bags full. 3. The scale that's supposed to put out your item's weight and price is wrong 90% of the time. If I hadn't paid attention today I would have been charged $269.00 for a little over a half pound of almonds. And I double checked, yes I had put in the right code number. I figure they're losing $15 to $25 dollars on me alone every week because I'm buying a lot of things elsewhere. They really suck. read more

The beer selection here? It's better than Bottleworks, in my opinion. And they've got lights, so you can see the beer, even! FANCY. They have Guinness foreign stout. It's imported. They have a rack of La Fin Du Monde stemmed pilsner glasses. This QFC is the closest thing in Seattle I have found to a Binny's, Sam's, or BevMo beverage depot of sorts. Kind of makes you sad, huh? Also, the people who work here are rad Capitol Hill kids with fun hair and tattoos and they don't even have a crappy attitude. Todd is my favorite cashier, he's sassy and everyone I know when they call me and I'm all like, "Yo! I'm at the Qfc's you want somethin'?" They are all like, "Whateva' Heather, just say YO! to my main man Todd!" Which is weird, for a chain grocery store. To have community. I would hazard to say that this QFC has almost as much soul as Red Apple on Jackson. That's right. *Tip: The QFCs on 15th and Broadway/Pine completely suck after going to the Republican/Broadway one, so if you're going to visit, be prepared to make a permanent switch. read more

This grocery store has been astonishing me repeatedly over the last week. It has EVERYTHING. Three levels: deli, a very large wine and booze selection, a pharmacy, hardware, kitchen appliances, laundry baskets, bath towels, furniture, and god help us all... even Crocs. It's just a few short blocks from my apartment, it's clean, and it's open late. Minus one star for somewhat high prices (produce is out of control) and the annoying beggar teenagers who are always sitting outside. Side note: I love that other reviewers think this grocery store is crowded. Um, hello, people? Seattle is a deserted wasteland compared to any other city. Try going into a San Francisco Trader Joe's on any given day at ANY time, and then you'll know what crowded is. Pshaw! read more

It's open 24 hours. It has a decent parking garage. It's GINORMOUS. They sell fresh flowers, baked goods, great produce, foreign wine, and....shot glasses? Yay! I'll admit that you can get a little lost in there because of its size and rather odd layout, but I like to think of it as a cat-and-mouse game every time I'm in there. I'm not from Seattle so this place was like a miracle to me. What makes it so special? Well let me explain. When I came in here with my friends for a beer/food run I felt like I was walking into some magical land. It was as if Target, Whole Foods, and Vons all had a threesome and somehow that made a baby. There is a great selection of anything you could possibly need, like Target. We came here after a house party to get cleaning supplies and some more beer (hair of the dog and all). It has quality food and some nice extras like Whole Foods. We were walking around and the quality of the goods and the range of the goods was amazing. There was also a Sushi bar, come on! All that with the Vons low price. Seeing so much high quality food I was expecting to pay through the nose for it like I would at Whole Foods. Surprisingly everything was so reasonably priced, if not super cheep. To all the haters out there, you got it good, so quit your complaining. read more

One of my favorite spots in seattle downtown area. Varieties of grocery( non- organic and organic ) Customer service is very best, always feel like I'm at second home . Plenty of self-checkout machines made customers go through the register fast. It allows customers take their time and see the cost before they pay. Also, they have a very nice food court and soup corner customer can grab a lunch or get the food to go. Plenty of food choices. They have enough space for parking outside. Great location. The staff keeps the store very clean and they truly care about their customers. It is only store that works until 2 AM week days nearby my apartment. This QFC dwarfs any other one's I've been to in the area. I can't even contemplate going back to the U. Village one after coming here. It is laid out more like a whole foods and feels a little more like that in the grocery area. It is a rather large store and it seemed very neat and clean. It has a mid-lower level complete with house and kitchenware, home decor, as well as hardwares and automotive related items. There is a mid-upper level with a very generous wine and beer selection. As one reviewer previously mentions, there is varied selection of ciders and there are bottles and 6-packs that I don't see at most grocery stores. As all gripes with QFC it is over-priced but if you are going to go to any store that has a similar price range, this is the one to come to! read more

QFC is definitely a quality food center. Close to home, always open, has a validated garage, helpful staff, self check out counters, and I always find what I am looking for and then some! Get an Advantage card because it definitely saves you some money on every shopping trip. What I really like about this store is that it has 3 stories, one for things for your home (ie: dishes, decorations, electrical things, etc), the main floor with all of the food, along with bakery and deli (where you can score some really great deals on cakes!), and the third floor has an awesome beer and wine selection. If you need some last minute things, just run over here and you will find it! read more

I woke at 4am with an awful ear ache. This OFC is the only place I could find open on Capitol Hill that would sell me drugs to feel better. (well I'm sure theres some unsavory places where I could find drugs to make me feel real good, but I'm talking medicines here). The head clerk was super helpful and offered to open up the pharmacy section just for me. I've also bought house goods here and am pretty impressed with their selection - good offerings in a convenient place. The guys at the cheese counter can always give great recommendations too! This review isn't about the grocery store--although I really enjoy shopping there--but, rather, it's about the Pharmacy. I had a great experience there. The pharmacy staff was very friendly and helpful. Although it took them 40 mins to fill my prescription (instead of the 20 mins they originally promised), I really couldn't fault them for it because they were super busy. Plus, considering it was my first time there, that they transferred my prescription from Safeway, added my insurance info, and offered to give me my refill on the same day, all without me having to do more than just hand them my insurance card and old prescription bottle, I think they did a superb job. read more

Yes, I do have a QFC that is closer to me technically. But this location, in particular, is heavenly. It's the type of grocery store that makes me wander for an hour or so because it's so large and expansive. This location is the type that I would willing walk a mile farther just so I can get lost in thought and wander around aimlessly. QFC is more expensive than other grocery stores, but with multiple departments resembling a mini Target, I can't complain. The staff are always incredibly friendly - asking if I'm doing alright, ushering lines, pacifying me when rude customers resort to ruthless tactics (a.k.a. line-cutters). Every time I leave this location, I'm always in better spirits and with a lighter wallet. read more

Well, it's two blocks from my house, so out of sheer convenience, I end up going there almost every other day. Unfortunately, the prices are rather inflated- probably because they know that tons of people live within walking distance, and are willing to pay more for convenience. If you use the Club Card and check the sale flyers, it helps lessen the blow. The 24/7 hours are convenient for drunk munchies (and for those who work graveyard shift). The store is also huge and has almost everything- again, at a price. The top floor is like a drugstore/beer and wine emporium, the main floor has typical grocery goods, and the lower level has household items and some basic hardware store type stuff. I would suggest using the self-check out. You have to be watchful at the regular checkout- a cashier scanned my Club Card sale vegetables and fruit as more expensive varieties that weren't on sale, and I didn't realize until later. read more
