I enjoy Qdoba, the food quality is pretty consistent. This particular one is usually clean but they move rather slow. During peak lunch hours expect to wait 20+ minutes in line. I was pretty bummed when they got rid of the tequila lime chicken, that was soooo good. But they now have impossible burger meat (plant based) and it is so good. You would never know it wasnt real meat. Top it with fajita veggies, beans and lettuce for a healthy meal. If queso is your jam, theirs is pretty tasty and they have a diablo spicy option. We really like Qdoba but it is fading that we will try other places next time. We had a steak burrito that was on the chewy side causing my kid jaw muscle to hurt. We also miss the free partial scoop of chips that came with the burrito bowl. It seems like the bowl size is shrinking but still pretty filling. One burrito bowl ground beef was minced to crumble. A standard QDOBA, despite the walk from the entrance to the counter is seemingly like a maze as you have to walk to the opposite corner of the restaurant to order your food. There was no one else in the restaurant when I went to order on a weekday evening, so I was in and out in record time. As I was leaving, there was about 6 people in line...so it's hit or miss on a wait. My only complaint was that the men's bathroom was the most disgusting bathroom I've ever seen in a restaurant. OK, I'm going to start off by saying that the employees were very nice. However, the rest of my experience today was very disappointing. Service was very slow as one of two young ladies working there was clearly being trained. It was so much so that a couple of people in front of me in line decided to give up waiting and leave. I'm pretty patient, however, so I stuck around. As I got closer to the counter I heard one of the girls tell a customer that they cannot make quesadillas today. At all. I didn't hear her explanation, and because that's what I went there to get I asked about it when it was my turn. The girl told me that the other young lady was very new, and had accidentally put shrimp on the quesadilla press. She explained to me and another customer who wanted quesadillas that the press could not be used until it could be properly cleaned due to shellfish allergy concerns. I ordered three Yardbird chicken tacos, and the new girl seemed confused as to even which shells to use, so the other girl took over. I asked if I could add lettuce, and was informed they were just about out of lettuce (good thing I didn't order a salad, which I had been considering). Then, as she started wrapping up my tacos, I asked: "aren't those supposed to come with guacamole?" The girl informed me that they were also out of guacamole. She proceeded to explain to me that "no one prepped anything today." As I was checking out another employee appeared and he informed the girls that they could make quesadillas on the other press, because there are two. After a brief disagreement the girl announced to people in line that we could have quesadillas but it would take about 10 minutes to warm up the press. By that time it was too late for me, so I took my tacos. I stopped at the condiment stand to grab a couple of limes I could squeeze over them to make up for the lack of guac, and there were no limes. I don't know if there was a manager present, but there are clearly problems at this restaurant (I should add that this was shortly before 7 PM, dinner time). They are understaffed at the very least. Hopefully they can get it worked out. I gave the place two stars because the tacos tasted OK and I could tell the (friendly) employees were trying. Let me tell you, if you are looking for mexican or hispanic food this is not it. I placed a order to take home and I live 4 miles away. The food was cold. The food was rather bland. No salsa. I asked for sour cream and guacomole and an extra guacomole. When I got home I had none of my sides. Also I had to dig out silverware because there was none. No napkin either. I did not recieve my gaucomole (2 sides they charge a $1 each for them) nor was my sour cream in the bag. Again- The food was COLD. Took me 5 minutes to come down mound 50mph speed limit and arrive at my house. My truck was already warm. No reason why my order should have been cold. They even oven warmed the burrito to melt the cheese. Why then would my food be cold 70 -80 degrees!. No guacomole or sour cream!!! I called and spoke to the manager. She said the cashier forgot to put it in the bag. She saw me in the parking lot walking to my truck but was busy with another customer. Resolution offered: %15 off my next order. Lets do the math $17 order times %15 = $2.55 2x $1 for guacomole and $1 for sour cream $3.00 worth the product overlooked -$2.50 worth of discount. So I only lose .50 cents on the forgotten items if I come back and order again??? The fact that My wife (the burrito was hers as well as the sides) Had to grub on a cold dinner without any sides sauce guacomole napkins etc. Was never a factor to the rude manager. Also when I called she said I was talking over her when she was trying to offer a resolution. It was all about her. Terrible customer service. If you are looking for a south of the border twist do yourself a favor. 1 Go to Taco Bell or 2 Hit up a good Mexican Restaurant (there many out there) Avoid this place. It was my first time there. A crisp & flaky tortilla shell bowl with romaine lettuce, corn, tomatoes, beans and a dollop of each sour cream & guacamole. Today I decided to take a buddies suggestion and mix it up a little. I ordered the pull pork burrito & went through the cafeteria style line & choose my toppings Subway style. I hooked that burrito up! 2 kinds of beans (black & pinto), cilantro white rice, corn, guacamole, sour cream & a good helping of pico de gallo. The 6.59 burrito was packed so tight in the steamed flour tortilla shell I thought for sure I was gonna hurt my wrist eating it. This place is full of options, several different sauces in addition to the fresh cut lemons, limes & my personal favorite Cholula or as I like to call it, the pretty lady with the wooden cap. The seating area is pretty big, very clean & I thought 10 dollars was a lot for a burrito, a cookie & a one size fits all medium cola until dinner time came & I was still full. To make a long story short, I've had better customer service at any other restaurant I've visited. The only reason this joint didn't get a 1-star review is because the food is pretty good. My wife and I experienced this restaurant together and to be perfectly honest, we won't be back. The woman behind the counter was extremely rude and unapologetic. On this fateful day, she was serving up burritos with a large helping of hate. She spoke with a soft voice and when she was politely asked to repeat what she said, she fired daggers out of her eyes and spit fire so far across the counter I thought Drogon had arrived to save the Mother of Dragons. Frankly, all Qdoba restaurants are the same. The food at one location does not really stand out from another. The thing that makes the difference is the experience (to include customer service). My wife and I had a terrible experience here. I felt as though I was inconveniencing this brash burrito builder by asking her to... make a burrito. She was smart and didn't wear a name tag. So I am a chipotle fan, but I tried Qdoba for the first time a few months ago and I fell in love with this place. To me it's not the same experience they both have their differences but I like Qdoba because of the queso and the crunchy tortilla strips. I have been here a few times now and I have only tried the burrito bowl. I have yet to try anything else because I can't get enough of the burrito bowl. The service is pretty good and the place is always neat and clean. Another good thing about Qdoba is it's never packed like chipotle. One thing I do not like about this place, seems to always be low on items. I have never came in to the restaurant and the food was fully stocked it seems that they are always running out of items or just starting to cook certain items . Everything I have ever wanted to eat has always been there but sometimes it doesn't always look so fresh. Never a bad experience and always a satisfying meal. The first thing I'd like to say is that I'm a huge fan of Qdoba. I love the Queso. I love the tacos. I love just about everything at Qdoba. That being said, the 12 mile and mound location leaves something to be desired. There are a couple of employees there who are miserable. A young lady behind the counter is always frugal with the cheese, the meat, the ingredients. When you ask her for more anything - you get a look of disgust as if you asked her for sex! The food seems cold by the time you get it for some reason. Unfortunately, this is the closest Qdoba to my house, so I deal with it. No napkins, no plasticware. Now, I know this isn't a big deal to some, but when it's to go, I just figure it's always a sure bet to include plasticware and napkins with your order. Is that wrong??? The strip mall this place is in has a bunch of great casual food options. It would be difficult to live here and not have to workout every day so as not to gain 100 lbs. I came here for the first time a few years back and I was impressed with the freshness of the salsa's. I hadn't been to Chipotle yet (which is a notch better) at the time so I had nothing to compare it to. At that time I was disappointed with a few things there which started with the attitude. There was one guy who seemed to be doing all the work while a couple other girls who seemed to be hired on looks alone stood around waiting in dread for the next time they would called upon to lift a finger. I wish they did lift a finger because the place was sloppy, tables needed wiping, floors swept, etc. The design of the dining area was a little cold and metallic but modern. It would have been cool if it was clean. I went back there recently and things have changed nicely. All the people working there were very pleasant, it was nice and clean, the lighting was warmer and toned down a bit and some of the food options seem better. I eat at QDOBA pretty often and have always been fairly pleased. Generally I go to the location by my home out in Rochester Hills. Today I tried this location because it is close to my work. It was a totally different atmosphere. There was no line and yet I waited a surprising amount of time before even being helped. Then after placing my order I was quickly switched to another person and had to repeat my complete order. Not a big deal alone, but after waiting so long just to order it seemed ridiculous that suddenly there were multiple order takers. The reason for my review though is specifically my experience with the employee sprinkling an embarrassingly light amount of steak onto my 3 cheese nacho. I asked if he could add just a little more to my meal. He quickly and harshly spouted back that I'd be charged an additional $2 for extra meat. I said no, I am asking for the general serving, not double meat. After refusing to add any I asked why he wouldn't provide the normal amount, as I've never received so little before. He sharply replied indicating that he is the manager and even though his employees may have over served, he would not be doing that. Then he proceeded to try to shove me along through the line. He made no attempt to satisfy my concerns by even adding a couple more chunks of meat. It really wouldn't have been hard to do that and then explain that he is working with his team on portion control. I said forget it, they can keep their food and walked away. I wish I had gotten this manager's name. I may call up there and get it. If I do I'll add it to this comment. I hope he felt accomplished by standing firm and making his point.
