I asked for NO salsa, the salad had salsa. The food was mediocre at best...the salad shell tasted like they need to change their oil and there was a small puddle of water in the bottom (I wish they had dried the lettuce). I haven't been here in a few years so I decided to try it out and was immediately feeling judged for taking my time (there was literally no one else in the store and they weren't closing). One of my favorite places to grab a quick taco or burrito. Chips are amazing. The hot salsa is the bomb! I usually get the small burrito combo (combo includes chips and drink). Choice of refried or black beans. Spanish or brown rice. Regular beef, chicken, steak, pork, shrimp or veggie. Fresh toppings like lettuce, guacamole ($1 upcharge), salsas, corn salsas, fresh or pickled jalapeños, tomatoes, onions, black olives, cheese, sour cream, cilantro. They have delicious queso as well ($1 upcharge). A lot of options for how you would like to consume the above listed meats/toppings. Get it on nachos (amazing). Crunchy tacos, soft tacos, burrito bowls, crunchy burrito bowls, salad, quesorito (burrito smothered with queso). All of it, good. They even have a new reward system. Download the app, collect points and get free stuff. Super close to work and fast service, so I eat here at least twice a month. The staff is usually outstanding. The Owner/Manager (?) is usually there and he is very unprofessional & just angry. I always try to be nice to people and turn their attitude around...not successful with him! EEks! The restaurant was dirty, tables were sticky like they are never cleaned off and it seems like it was from the day before. This place REALLY needs a good deep clean! The attitude of the employees mirrors that of the owner, so I am guessing he allows it. The food is subpar to the other "fast" Mexican choices. Everything looked old and needed to be stirred or covered? Every single thing is an up-charge so you will end up with a $10 bowl of horrible food. Not a happy customer. Had a 2 taco combo with shrimp on Wednesday. I remarked to my friend that the shrimp looked a little overdone, but I ate them anyway. By early evening, I was feeling a little nauseous, I just attributed it to the heat and humidity. In the world of cuisine, I'd categorize myself as a Mexi-can't. Sure I love the occasional burrito or hard shell taco. I'm even down for tortilla chips most days of the week, but to eat Mexican food more than once every 2-3 months just isn't in my DNA. Then enters my good friend Aaron Flohr, who reintroduced me to Mexican food. Just as I did with him with Asian cuisine, he steered me towards better Mexican places. We came to find out that one of the things I hated most about Mexican food is refried beans and crappy cheese. The good thing is, Salsarita's Fresh Cantina uses neither. Well, they may have refried beans, but I didn't ask. All I know is that they have black beans, and those black beans are a delight. I've come to this location quite a bit over the last few months, and the burritos are the bomb yo! I like to stuff mine with pico, steak or pork, rice, cheese, onion and peppers, and corn. That is the perfect mix my friends. I also love to get a corn quesadilla, which is simply corn mix and cheese. Bro...BRO!!! It is SO f'in' good. And the warm tortilla chips are fresh and delicious. I could get (even more) fat here if I didn't control myself. Here is why I didn't give it a 4 or 5 Star Rating. Nearly every time I called my order in before hand, it was incorrect. Salsa missing, no quesadilla, burrito was stuffed with the wrong blend, etc. Between me and my girlfriend calling in orders over the last several months, we've probably received a 40 successful order percentage. Not good. Yes, the employees are always apologetic and will give me the correct stuff if I come back up, but I don't want to drive another 20-25 minutes round-trip. I don't want my other items to get cold to fix the one item f'ed up this time. I just want it done right. They didn't even offer a credit for next time, which probably would have helped them to double check my order with me before I left to ensure everything was copasetic. While it's been at least a month since I've been back, I will probably be back soon; however, with Qdoba opening fairly close to me in just a few weeks, I may never go back again. How about this? The food here is pretty good but the past few times I've been here, the service has lacked. A weird look when asking for sour cream, unclean seating areas, and when I paid for my food the attendant never even looked up at me, let alone flash any kind of look that didn't imply she hated her life. I will still continue to pop in from time to time but I will expect less and less every time. This most recent time I asked for a few more jalapenos, the only topping besides the cheese on my chicken quesadilla and I was told I would need to pay extra for more. I'll start by saying that I am a huge Mexican food junkie. However, I rarely find a Mexican restaurant outside of Mexico that I actually enjoy (Oh how I miss the cantina's in Zihuatanejo & Ramos-Arizpe, Mexico!). "Salsarita's Fresh Cantina" is new to me and just opened near my house, so I decided to give it a try. The chain restaurant is initially very similar to Qdoba, or Chipotle Grill, with one significant difference....Salsarita's serves ALCOHOL! I was quite surprised during my first visit to see that they have a stocked bar inside and offer several beers and themed drinks, like margaritas. Now don't get me wrong, this place is NOT a bar and they are not fully stocked with every liquor. But, it is nice to be able to grab a quick bite at a "fast food" chain and include a Miller Chill with your meal, haha. The food is quite decent for American-style Mexican food, with most dishes giving an authentic taste. I highly recommend the Tortilla Soup, it was killer. The burritos and quesadillas are also very good, tasting very similar to Qdoba. The nachos are enormous and can easily be split up into two meals. The restaurant itself was very clean and the employees were very courteous. I highly recommend this location! read more

As far as build your own burrito places go on the east side, I would consider them rated Burrito Mundo greater than Chipotle greater than Qdoba, and lastly Salsaritas. I dont feel that their burritos are anywhere near as flavorful as the other places, nor the options as plentiful for a veg. I love nachos, and this place has the best, freshest ingredients that i can find most anywhere for the price (which is ok - somehow I always seem to end up with a couple dollars in extra add ons and am not sure why...someone did warn me that shrimp was a dollar extra and I appreciated that. The shrimp was good.). BUT. My big problem here is that with all the delicious ingredients, the chips are so thin and delicate that they are constantly breaking apart into little pieces, which is very sad because it ruins an otherwise excellent meal. I've onlyneaten here once but it was fantastic! I had the quesadillas; they were huge and the guy who made my food was extremely willng to give me as many limes and pick de gallo as I wanted. Though I didn't stick around long enough to sit down and have a margarita, I was quite surprised that they did serve alcohol and definatly plan on coming back to eat anddrink a cocktail. I had a chicken burrito and was very underwhelmed. The rice was undercooked, all the ingredients were cold AND it costs a dollar extra for peppers which are free at chipotle. The plain flavor and generic ingredients (think straight from Sysco foods) reminded me of Mexican night in the dorms. The food was way overpriced for the quality. Wow. First time here. I got the build your own nachos and it was by far the best nachos I've ever had. The choices of toppings were plentiful for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. The ingredients were fresh like the name implies. The woman who crafted the toppings clearly understood the art of building a nacho platter by evenly distributing the toppings.
