Carne asada burrito
Brooke Q.

My husband & I love Mexican food so we were excited to try this place. Last Saturday we met his parents & brother here. It was clean, spacious, & decorated/painted nicely. The chips & salsa were tasty & our server was quick & friendly! I ordered the carne asada burrito & it was HUGE! It wasn't my favorite one I've ever had, but it was really good & I would probably order it again. My husband got the enchiladas& he really liked them. My father-in-law ordered the taquitos & he loved them! My mother in law ordered their tacos & she said they were delicious too.

It's been open about 3 months. No one waiting on us after the hostess sat us down for too long of a while. Hmmm. Salsa and chips are out, a long 16 minutes after being seated by a random staffer. We asked the staffer if we could order. She doesn't take orders. She said our waitress would be with us to take our order soon. Our waitress ran off after bringing our drinks. We asked the same staffer from earlier to get our waitress, this waiting is running long for a Mexican restaurant. Food order is finally in 27 minutes later. Our waitress was attentive and on top of things, once she connected with us. Ordered Guacamole, rolled tacos with side of beans only, Three grilled chicken street tacos with black bean side and Sonoran ranchero with black beans and no cheese. $65.67 The chips are good. Crispy and fresh. Mild salsa has an odd taste to me. The spicy salsa is just pure hot. The two mixed is better. The guacamole is good, not super flavorful though and a bit bland, still decent. The rolled chicken taco is good, comes with cheese inside. The first Sonoran ranchero looked good, cotija cheese on my black beans though. All of the staff see friendly and checked up on us after we ordered. The food was out good. Put a rush on my redo for my Sonoran ranchero with black beans and no cheese. The Sonoran ranchero was good. Chicken is cubed. Good flavors. The chicken taco is okay, my husband doesn't mind the shredded chicken in the rolled tacos, but he forgot to order the grilled chicken. The shredded chicken makes the

We went on March 28, 2026 and Reilly W was our server. Let's start off by saying she did a phenomenal job. Our drinks were never empty and her friendliness was spot on. I let her manager know as well. The food was delicious as always. This is our 3rd time eating here with the new owners and it will continue to be a regular stop for us. The only thing I don't love is the volume of the live music. This is the second time we have been there with the singer performing. The 1st time we sat in the bar area and were unable to hear each other at the table. This time we sat in the dining room far from the entertainment and it was still very loud. I would have them turn it down a bit if I were the manager. This will not stop us from returning but I do feel the loudness will drive some away. We will be back due to the great food and great service. The music volume is unnecessary.

We came back to the Cantina on a less busy Thursday evening and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. I had the Carne Asada Burrito and she had the fish tacos, and they were So Good! The burrito was HUGE and full of flavor and quality ingredients and the fish tacos were equally impressive. We're already looking forward to another return visit.

Super clean place ! 1st timer. Service was exceptional. Shared 2 lunch specials. Tacquito plate & beef burrito. Both were huge, came with all the sides- tasted great. Warm - homemade chips - good salsa included. Added in a flight of different flavored margaritas. Good also. Bunch of leftovers on the food - but imagine that - the margaritas were empty.

This restaurant is at the corner of Schoenherr and 23 Mile Road in the same location as the old Miguel's. They completely renovated the interior and added a small banquet room that is not completely finished yet. They call this a "soft" opening. Other than the waitress having to work out some bugs with the check out system, we didn't have any issues. The waitress was awesome, the chips and salsa was free and the food was delicious. I got the Sante Fe bowl with the sautéed veggies and my friend got the big primo burrito which was enormous. We both took quite a bit in a to go box. I will definitely be back.

We went to Primo Cantina for lunch yesterday and will definitely be going back! I love the aesthetic--lots of big windows, and everything feels fresh and clean. The food was absolutely delicious. All six of us were very happy with our meals and felt it was a great value for the price. We ordered the Cantina Bowl, Big Burrito, Enchiladas, Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas, and Shrimp Tacos. We also tried the Jamaica and Horchata. I could honestly drink a whole gallon of the Jamaica--it was that good! The Horchata was pretty good too, though it had a slight red-hot cinnamon flavor to it. Andrew, the manager (possibly owner), checked in on us several times and even treated us to complimentary fried cheesecake. It was delicious!

New Mexican restaurant in a spot that had a previous Mexican restaurant. The new people come in with more than 20 years experience and you can tell. The food and service is good and the prices reasonable. Both entrees with Carne Asada had plenty of quality steak and taste. Homemade chips/salsa and Margarita that you can taste the tequila was a great start. We will return.

I saw some good reviews about the soft opening of Primo Cantina, and wanted to check it out. Arrived at 3:00pm and not much of a crowd (which is what I prefer) yet. Was seated by one of the owners who was great during our experience there. After we were seated I saw the owner bring out a few platters of fajitas for the waitstaff to try out. He told me that today was the first time introducing them, and he wanted the waitstaff to give them a try. They weren't on the soft opening menu, but he said I could order them if I wanted to. Of course I had to give them a try, and being the first patron to order them felt pretty good. I did a combo of steak and chicken, both meats you could tell have been marinaded before they were cooked, which I don't think you typically see done. The flavor of both meats alone was fantastic. My friend ordered the street tacos with shredded chicken which she said were very good. I told her I'm typically not a fan of shredded chicken because it usually comes out pretty wet, but hers looked very appetizing for how they were presented and didn't have that very finely shredded wet appearance to them. Complimentary chips and salsa were on point, along with the margarita's. I tried the Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita and it was excellent. The owner graciously brought us out a complimentary fried cheesecake which was incredible with a light cinnamon coating on it. Grand opening is set for 10-01-2025, and I'm looking forward already to returning.

This is the best Mexican food full restaurant in Michigan hands down! There is nothing like this around and so happy they are finally opened. I lived on the west coast for 20 years and this is definitely as authentic as you can get. Not to mention you can taste the quality of the meats they are using in the food. We ordered a bunch of different things but I will be dreaming about those rolled tacos!

Cocktails were lovely and unique. Seating was comfortable and the atmosphere was both quaint and open as the room was filled with sunlight but we felt like we had our own corner to enjoy. This is one of those unfortunate instances where I wish I could give a 3.5* rating. Everything was ok, but definitely not great. The place is loud, and way too bright, especially for an intimate experience after 8:30pm or so. We would have loved to stick around for another couple cocktails, if the cocktails and ambience were good, they weren't. The "craft cocktail" ol' fashioned was improperly garnished w/ a whole 1/4 of an orange slice, instead of the peel, it was improperly essenced, and had an improper amount of simple syrup. It was essentially a shot of bourbon with a cherry and an orange peel. Tasted terrible. The drink lacked all of the taste and trappings of the advertised craft "burnt sugar" old fashioned. Additionally, they use a 1/2 of an ice ball, which would not have been offensive, if the rest of the drink was up to par, but as it was, the cocktail seemed cheap and off-putting. 2.0/10 My date ordered a "figgy sweater," a citrusy cocktail with vodka, also off of the "craft cocktails" menu. Her drink had the opposite problem. It tasted like a lemonade with no alcohol at all, or watered down alcohol. She's a fairly lightweight that does not like strong drinks, gets tipsy off of two, and she complained throughout its consumption that the drink seemed weak and not worth ordering another. 2.0/10 We were both interested in another cocktail, but due to the loud nature of the place, the over abundance of light, and the poorly crafted cocktails, we drove to another establishment for our second round. Food ordered: Seafood Chowder - Great job, delicious, ample seafood throughout 9.5/10 Brisket Poutine - Good but it lacked cheese curds and gravy. 7.0/10 Beef tenderloin tips - terrible... the dish came out cold, we ordered the GF option, and the bread substitute was gross. The dish was overly salty, and the beef was way, way over cooked; not even medium well, most of it was well done, and tough; this was $30 wasted, we barely touched it and it's still in the fridge two days later. I'll likely throw it out. 2.0/10 Chicken Fried Lobster - nice dish, I hated the dill, but my date licked it. The dill aside, it was delicious; nice presentation, great tasting waffle, w/ well favored garnishes. However, the dish was barely warm when it came out, the ricotta/cream soaked into the waffle, and it was soggy. If it came out of the kitchen promptly it would have likely been better. 7.0/10 I'd consider ordering the chicken fried waffle again, but bad cocktails will likely keep me away. It's tough to pay $30+ in bad cocktails to accompany a $100+ meal. I'd strongly suggest turning down the lights after 8:30pm or so, and installing some noise canceling/light panels to bring the ceiling height down, quiet the place down some, and make it seem more intimate. The two tables opposite the the kitchen, in the damn hallway to the bathroom, should either be gotten rid of, made into high-tops, or install a lower counter-service along that wall for a "chef's experience." Those tables absolutely suck. We sat at them at our first visit, they tried to sit us there for our 2nd visit, but moved us after our objection. I laughed a bit throughout our meal as the people that were subsequently seated at those tables complained during their meal of the constant bumps, and interruptions that come with the territory. Finally, our waitress did a great job. The food runner was late on a couple of our dishes, resulting in cold food, but the waitress' service seemed great.

Everything tasted super fresh and the menu leans more "snacky" in the best possible way -- perfect little plates that are clearly meant to pair with wine. We ordered a few things for the table and it felt like the kind of place where you just keep ordering one more thing because everything sounds good. Nothing heavy, just really well done bites that let the wine shine. Speaking of wine, the selection is awesome. It's not the usual predictable restaurant list. There are some really interesting bottles and styles on there, which makes it fun if you actually enjoy trying different wines instead of just defaulting to the same thing every time. Service was great too. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, and you can tell the owners are really hands-on and working hard to make the place special. That always makes a difference. And the ambiance... chef's kiss. Moody lighting, cozy, stylish but not pretentious. Just good vibes all around. It's the kind of spot you want to linger at with friends and a second bottle of wine. Already planning my next visit :)
