The customer service is horrible. My husband and I ordered dinner for the family and a couple of the meals were prepared incorrectly. The GM/manager was unreasonable when I mentioned my concerns and how to correct the problems with the meals that were prepared incorrectly, so long story short the service or food is not worth the buck. read more

I've never had City Burger before, but my boyfriend was craving a burger and suggested it. We did not go into the restaurant so I can't speak to ambiance. We ordered ours for delivery through DoorDash. The restaurant staff made our food correctly with the customizations/add ons. Despite his craving, we both ended up wanting their new crispy chicken sandwich called The Heights with a side of fries. My boyfriend also got a side of seasoned fries and macaroni bites. The regular fries had no seasoning but were crispy so I was fine with them. The seasoned fries were incredibly spicy. The macaroni bites were standard and fine. The chicken sandwich was not good. It was two giant chicken tenders that tasted frozen and super old. Like they had been sitting under a food warmer for too long. I opted out of eating my sandwich. My boyfriend agreed that the sandwich was not very good and didn't eat his either, but he liked everything else. He says their burgers are very good, however, so I would give this place another try and order a burger. Moral of the story: don't order a chicken sandwich from a burger joint. read more

THE DETROITER (double patty burger with a fried egg and cheese) - 6.5/10 Not bad, but a little dry. The patties were juicy, but the burger as a whole could have used some sauce. The bread was also on the drier side (it didn't taste too fresh) and the fried egg was well done. It would have been nice if the egg yolk was runny. Too bad they didn't give us an option. I'd recommend adding one of their sauces to this one, and asking for your egg to be over-easy or something. DOWNTOWN FRIES (loaded fries with Cool Ranch Doritos) - 8.5/10 The flavors here were on point; everything tasted so good together. I wish the fries were a little crispier, though. Even the fries that weren't smothered in sauce or cheese were a little soggy. Next time I'll probably try it with waffle fries. THE HEIGHTS (fried chicken sando) - 5/10 I wouldn't recommend this one. The chicken breast was really thick, yet the inside wasn't that hot. It seemed like it sat under a heat lamp for a while, drying out and cooling down. The bread on this one was also dry (drier than the burger.) The breading on it was still good, though; crispy and well seasoned. They do have halal meat, but you must request it when you're ordering since they have some non halal items. They use a clean prep space and make sure there's no cross contamination of when you request halal. The restaurant is spacious and clean, and service was great. I'd recommend trying it out, but modify the cooking levels to your liking. read more

Finally tried this place today I was completely under whelmed. The burger paddies were quite bland and the burgers were over cooked. Fries were good, but needed salt. Milkshake was just okay. My husband was in the mood for a burger tonight. We decided to order The New Yorker from City Burger. Upon opening the box it looked good. However first bite was bland. It was a nice size patty but it was not well seasoned. Also noticed there was no onions on the burgers. The cashier asked if we wanted raw or grilled onions and we asked for raw onions. It came with no onions at all. Even though it was printed on the receipt. We ordered Cajun fries. The seasoning of fries were good but the taste of old oil overpowered the fries which made them taste old and greasy. My husband ordered the food to go so I could not honestly review the ambiance of the location. I really had higher expectations of City Burger, but it definitely isn't somewhere I'd go back to. I ordered an "open face Reuben" and it came with two extremely greasy and soaked thick pieces Of Texas toast. Food is great and run by a wonderful, kind man. I recommend their burgers to anyone and everyone! You get what you pay for and you're full every time. Wraps, salads and sides are all great too. No complaints when it comes to flavor. My only complaint is some of them are super messy, buns have come out soggy more than once so that's a bit of a bummer but overall taste is awesome. Went there for lunch one day during the week and the food was excellent. I got the Heights meal. There were two huge chicken tenders on it covered in their sauce and ranch. They were delicious and hot. The fries were good too but i did put extra salt on them. It also comes with a small side of coleslaw. My meal did come out to about $18 after tax. Just got off work and was starving, so I saw this spot that I haven't been in since 2019. It was much better than I remembered. Before I just ordered the sliders. This time however I tried their signature burger and it was great. I ordered the Detroiter with waffle fries, Coleslaw and a half and half drink. My burger was a double cheeseburger with a fried egg over the top. We got deep tied cauliflower and onion rings and a burger with seasoned fries. The cauliflower and onion rings alone were worth coming here. Great batter, not too much of it, fried in HOT, CLEAN GREASE!!! I don't know about anyone else's experiences in deep fried food, but that's been hard to find. The burger - hot and fresh. I was in the area and I happened to (literally) google map "burgers" and City Burger came up. Sounded promising with the high rating even though there aren't many reviews, decided why the hell not? It's behind a bus stop, across from a liquor shop and beside Happy's Pizza. I was confused about parking at first but there's a pretty big lot right behind the place with an entrance from both back and front. Neat! The sign is lovely, simple and cute font. Win! The interior is spacious, tons of seating and the wall mural is very vibrant! There are 3 tv's to keep folks entertained! The menu has options for everyone but best of all, the burgers drew me in. Great prices and on top of it it's an amazing combo deal. I got "the Albuquerque" for $9.99 which comes with regular fries, drink, slice of pickle, and coleslaw! All combos come with these goodies. I switched out regular fries for onion rings for a $1 more. Choose how you want your burger cooked and if you want mayo mustard and or ketchup. My burger came with jalapenos, caramelized onions, cheese and chipotle sauce. Messy burger but oh so delicious. I was craving and this was overwhelmingly satisfying! So much food, wow the coleslaw was a pleasant surprise. It wasn't too sweet, just perfect! The pickle slice was perfect to cut out the greasiness from the fried goodies. The staff was so kind. They came by twice to check if everything was okay and if we needed extra sauces. Wonderful place and great service. Will drop by whenever I'm in the area and in the mood for burgers! read more

So I see what people are saying about customer service. They may be overwhelmed with being new, but be patient with your new customers, please. Anyway, we came in on an early Sunday evening (around 5:30). There seemed to be an early supper rush. However, they seemed to handle it well. The ladies behind the counter looked like family. Cool. Maybe it's a family business. My husband described his medium Dallas burger and regular fries as "very good". My New Orleans burger and waffle fries were pretty good. A little salt and pepper on the patty would have gone a long way. The only thing that looked unappealing was the coleslaw. BUT, it tasted okay. FYI- All burgers, sandwiches, and wraps can be ordered separately (not as a meal). The customers in front of me ordered the sliders --4 for $4. Good deal. We'll be back again I'm sure. Ordered takeout from here. The manager was extremely nice and helpful, but the food was VERY disappointIng. I paid $3 extra for avocado and bacon on my burger and received 2 thin slivers of avocado and they forgot the bacon. The meat was overcooked and super dry, plus the patty itself was really thin and falling apart. I was expecting a juicy burger, the kind that doesn't even require condiments, especially when it's made to order. One of the few times I haven't taken more than two bites of a burger. One positive note: it's really nice you receive fries and a drink with your sandwich. However I will not be returning until some serious improvements on the food have been made. I'd rather pay for a drink and fries a la carte and better/thicker meat be used. read more

My intent was to eat sushi and shrimp today, Hisushi on Van Duke in Warren is closed on Wednesdays, so I asked my son if he wanted to try City Burger which is right next door. I am sooooo glad we did, he had chicken quesadillas and I ordered the Phoenix Burger. When I say delicious I mean delicious . Hot fries and coleslaw and a fountain drink came with the meal. I was here on business and I got on yelp and found a place that would hopefully appease the group of very diverse people I was with. The building looked slightly drab and hole in the wallish from the exterior but I was totally digging their logo and font. It gave me hope that this would be more unique than every other burger and fries.... I was right. I am not a burger eater when I go out to eat usually. I try to keep it classy when I am on business and try and save the mess. This couldn't happen because when I walked in and seen the menu, I literally just pointed to the picture and asked for that because that sucker looked so appetizing. I ordered the New Orleans burger and added avocado. I also ordered the waffle fries.... again they looked so yum. The price was right! It included the burger, fries and drink with little up-charge for the avocado add and waffle fry upgrade. I paid less than $11.00 and this was no ordinary fast food looking burger. This was a beautiful messy monster that I elected to finish with a fork! It was so good and the onions and mushrooms were cooked perfectly. The staff members were so attentive and polite and that is hard to find now a days. Everybody there made sure to interact with our group. That was truly appreciated. Again, I would definitely make sure you don't pass this place up or brush it off as another burger joint.... it's not. This place is brand new, probably opened at least 5 days ago. If you are familiar with the area located right next to Happy's Pizza. It's extremely clean, and has new everything. Pretty spacious. We got carry out it was pretty fast, the people I was with had burgers which all were good, and I had the beyond burger that was also very good (vegetarian option) brownie points to them. They have good fries and onion rings that weren't greasy and make your stomach feel terrible. Also, prices are good! Can't wait to see this place take off like I know it will. Great customer service! The owner seemed to be present making sure the quality and experience we were offered meet his and our standards. Dallas burger was great with the waffle frys. Only thing I didn't care for was that when we arrived all the chairs were flipped up on the tables (I'm sure for them to clean the floors) however, it was 2 hours before they closed so it came off a bit uninviting. We would have eaten there, but weren't sure if the we would be able to so we got everything to-go.
