This experience crossed a line…read more My girlfriend and I were genuinely excited to try Holy Burger because they advertise a full plant based menu and even offer gluten free buns. That combination is hard to find, so we were genuinely excited. Before ordering, I specifically asked if a gluten free bun could be used with a plant based sandwich. I was told yes. During ordering, I also clearly stated multiple times that we are vegan and everything needed to be plant based. Every vegan knows when you are in a place that serves both, you confirm multiple times. Despite that, I was served real meat. Both my chicken sandwich and my burger were not plant based. After taking a bite (I haven't eaten meat in 16 years), I noticed something was off and asked for clarification. I was initially told it was both gluten free and plant based. When I pointed out that my chicken patty and my girlfriend's chicken patty looked completely different, the answer changed. Only then did the employee realize the mistake and say it was gluten free, not plant based, as if those are interchangeable. They are not. If I had accepted the initial answer, I would have continued eating meat. Like halal, this is ethical. It is not a preference. If you are going to market to vegans and people with dietary restrictions, you need to understand the difference and get it right. What made it worse was the response. There was no real apology, just a casual "that's what you ordered," which wasn't true. I had clearly communicated my order multiple times. I declined the remake because at that point I didn't trust the food. I was told a refund was issued, but I have not seen that reflected yet. We spent about $60 for two people, which makes this so much more upsetting. This is not just a simple mistake. For vegans, this is ethical. Being served meat after clearly ordering plant based is not a minor error, it is a complete breakdown in trust. It left me physically sick, and honestly still does thinking about it. When you serve both meat and plant based options, there should be clear safeguards and employee training in place to make sure this never happens. That did not happen here. If you are vegan, I would strongly caution against eating here.

Since being recently diagnosed with a gluten intolerance, I've been on the lookout for places with…read moregood gluten-free options. This spot has quickly become my go-to when I'm craving "fast food" style meals. So far, I've tried the gluten-free chicken tenders, cheeseburger on a gluten-free bun, seasoned fries, and even their gluten-free cookie. The chicken tenders are especially delicious; once home, I like to drizzle honey and dip them in barbecue sauce, which takes them to the next level. The seasoned fries are always perfectly crispy and flavorful. I'm not a fan of their gluten-free bun or gf cookie but I think I just have to get used to eating things without gluten in it now. The staff has consistently been friendly and helpful. While the seating area inside is small (making it more of a takeout spot), there are a few tables if you'd like to dine in. There's also a small bathroom available and a convenient ordering screen in the lobby for quick service. Overall, this is a solid place for gluten-free comfort food; whether you're in the mood for burgers, sandwiches, or chicken tenders. I've already been several times, and I'll definitely keep coming back!

Then I tried Dearborn Heights a couple of years later. Same thing!!! I just tried this location in Warren, and it's phenomenal too. I'm not sure why I didn't post reviews in the past. This was such a good burger!…read more One of the best burgers I have had. I have been wanting to try this place for years. I was finally on the right side of time and had time to go in. They are located next to a gas station which comes in handy if you also need gas. I order the number 1 and my son ordered the pizza burger. Both were very filling and delicious. The original burger was cooked perfectly and the bun was pretty good. The onions and pickles were so good and I don't usually like pickles. I didn't try the signature sauce as I'm not a fan of thousand island. But many people will enjoy it the way it's suppose to be made I'm sure. The pizza burger was pretty cool. It had 3 nice sized mozzarella sticks on them and pizza sauce. We wanted fries and they only come in one size. The one size is big enough to share. We were suggested the lemon pepper fries and that was such a great suggestion. They are fresh cut fries and you can tell. I was happy they had regular fries and not the battered crispy ones a lot of place do. So they definitely will get 5 stars for the fries alone. It has some seating inside, but most people seem to get carry out. The men at the counter were so nice in helping us. They really suggested things we would like and we did. I will be glad to give them my business again.

The NAME IS COOL!…read more The ambiance is fun and I love the odd decor. Antique chairs and taco pillows. Cool signs and vibrant photos. Plus a sauce wall with many different sauces to try. Service is good the cashier was pleasant and friendly. I happened to stop by on Taco Tuesday while visiting the Detroit Burbs. With a name like Taco Kings I expected amazing tacos. These were quite disappointing. The daily special was blah and the tacos were mediocre. My friend told me she enjoys the nachos and quesadillas here. I probably should have tried that instead of tacos. That probably was my sign and a hint to try her favorites. The street taco (steak) lacked in seasoning and was a bit chewy. The Tuesday Special hard shell taco barely had cheese. It was loaded with tomatoes more than anything else. The meat wasn't well seasoned either. The tacos are definitely a NO for me. When and if I visit again I might try my friend's suggestions to see if the outcome is better. Prices are reasonable and it was tidy inside. All I wanted was good food like one of the signs said, but all I received was bad food. THE...Ambiance and Service were good and that was the best part of this experience. Food is important to me so I hated not being happy or satisfied. My order was to go because had I eaten there I would have told them.

It's right next to Amarin Thai which I've also eaten at a few times in the past. Walking in the place has plenty of seating and a very friendly lady took my order. She really was super cool and I enjoyed talking to her while I was here. They have a great variety of options here from smaller plates to larger dinner portions as well. I ordered my birria tacos with a side of rice and a can of sprite. They don't do fountain drinks here so I also requested a glass of water. The food was very good, and the rice was good but I wasn't in love with it. It started to taste funny after a while and I couldn't finish it. Hard to say why, but it is what it is. They have all the fixings at the tables so you don't have to get up to ask for more napkins or essentials. They also have a great selection of hot sauce to choose from so have at it. Prices here are great and I walked away happy as could be. While it's a huge place, I really did enjoy my time here. I would return to try more food when I'm on this side of town.

We ordered ours for delivery through DoorDash. The restaurant staff made our food correctly with the customizations/add ons. Despite his craving, we both ended up wanting their new crispy chicken sandwich called The Heights with a side of fries. My boyfriend also got a side of seasoned fries and macaroni bites. The regular fries had no seasoning but were crispy so I was fine with them. The seasoned fries were incredibly spicy. The macaroni bites were standard and fine. The chicken sandwich was not good. It was two giant chicken tenders that tasted frozen and super old. Like they had been sitting under a food warmer for too long. I opted out of eating my sandwich. My boyfriend agreed that the sandwich was not very good and didn't eat his either, but he liked everything else. He says their burgers are very good, however, so I would give this place another try and order a burger. Moral of the story: don't order a chicken sandwich from a burger joint.

THE HEIGHTS, not bad but the chicken was a bit dry and not piping hot. It may have been sitting under a heat lamp for a bit too long.
