    Fried Ice Cream

It's been a few years since I've been to this establishment. I stopped going because there was a dip in quality of the food. However, today I decided "what the heck? I'll give it another try it's been a while." I was throughly impressed. Not only with the overall food quality, but the speedy service and friendly waitress. I think her name was Lauren? She was amazing because I didn't have to ask once for anything I needed, it was like she could read my mind! The chips were nice and warm, and I enjoyed my Molcajete. The fried ice cream was also very tasty! I especially liked the addition of the little churros. I Will definitely be returning! The only thing I'd say is I wish they just gave us a big bowl of salsa instead of several tiny cups.

Fantastic dinner! The service was great....so attentive and friendly. It wasn't our birthday....but they sang Happy Birthday in Spanish to two different parties and I want them to sing to me!!! Margaritas were icy and well made. They give you good chips, salsa and a sour cream dip, too! The Pork Verde and the Burrito Chicken Fajitas was our dinner. Five Stars all around. Enjoyed the place very much and will be back for sure.

HIGHLY recommend. My husband and I drive 30 minutes probably once a week to come eat here and get our Mexican craving satisfied. We always start off with a large queso and small guacamole and then He gets the beef fajita and I get the veggie chimichanga. When I tell you we devour this food in the matter of 10 minutes. They are always so nice, SO fast (like in and out in 30 minutes), and we recommend to everybody we know.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant! The service is always great, our food always comes out quick & correct, & the margaritas are delicious!

The food was really good here, the salsa was perfect, but the drinks were lacking. Love getting margaritas at Mexican restaurants but don't want to pay 1350 for a sugary drink with a splash of alcohol. I mentioned it to the waitress that it was weak, and the second one was exactly the same. Don't waste your money on the margaritas here. I understand if you have to make money and tough times but you're charging 1350 for one drink ,Splash a little freaking alcohol in it give people what they're paying for. BTW I ordered the Texas which is supposed to have more of a kick , I couldn't taste or feel the Tequila even after two larges. Don't think I will be back.

This is a frequent meeting place for us as it is sort of half way between our houses. The restaurant itself doesn't look like much of anything impressive. But the food is delicious. They have lunch specials that are very reasonable. We usually go for lunch because it is so reasonably priced. I typically get the lunch fajitas or a lunch portion chicken chimichanga. He likes to change up his choices. The lunch portions are quite big. I would have no need for more. They are quick during lunch too which is nice, although we aren't usually in a hurry. They have a delicious salsa Verde with chips that is incredible. If we have nothing to do, we might splurge on a margarita. They are huge and very reasonably priced. Day drinking is always more fun anyhow. Haven't been able to get them since the shut down. We are both looking forward to going back and having that sense of normalcy.

YIKES!! First off let me start by saying that I asked my three year old niece what she thought about her dinner 1-5 and she replied "0". Lol.... Now the wait here was extremely long for takeout. I couldn't get an answer on the phone so I went in just to wait 10minutes for someone to acknowledge me. The food here is absolutely horrible!!! I feel bad that people actually have to eat this food and think it's authentic. The staff is actually Mexican too and they're wearing Jalisco tees so it actually embarrassed me that they know what authentic is and they purposely made a lower quality food to serve; and spiked the prices up. They would be out business if they were in Southwest Detroit. Carne Asada came plain without cilantro, onions, and no LIME!!!! Cheese enchiladas taste old with kraft cheese. Carnitas were DRY Chips and salsa were like watered down spaghetti sauce Overall if I could give them less than one I would. Shame on this establishment for lack of delivery when I know they're Hispanic staff, unless the owner just hired Hispanic staff. B cause there's NO way those workers eat what they serve.

The meal began with prawn chips, which were alright. They were clearly freshly fried and seasoned heavily, but they also tasted artificial. The 6 count of oysters came out with several options of sauces and crackers. The oysters by themselves tasted like saltwater with no sweetness, so not the greatest that I've had. The star of the show, though, was the po'boy. It came out with extremely crispy breading on a large portion of catfish and a delicious remoulade on top. The fries that came with the po'boy were delicious as well; they were coated with cheese before being fried, which gave them quite a bit of flavor. These fries did not need any condiments, but Yvette went and got ketchup for me anyways at my request. I was surprised at the quality of the food despite it being a chain. If anything, I will at least be back for another po'boy.

This is one of those unfortunate instances where I wish I could give a 3.5* rating. Everything was ok, but definitely not great. The place is loud, and way too bright, especially for an intimate experience after 8:30pm or so. We would have loved to stick around for another couple cocktails, if the cocktails and ambience were good, they weren't. The "craft cocktail" ol' fashioned was improperly garnished w/ a whole 1/4 of an orange slice, instead of the peel, it was improperly essenced, and had an improper amount of simple syrup. It was essentially a shot of bourbon with a cherry and an orange peel. Tasted terrible. The drink lacked all of the taste and trappings of the advertised craft "burnt sugar" old fashioned. Additionally, they use a 1/2 of an ice ball, which would not have been offensive, if the rest of the drink was up to par, but as it was, the cocktail seemed cheap and off-putting. 2.0/10 My date ordered a "figgy sweater," a citrusy cocktail with vodka, also off of the "craft cocktails" menu. Her drink had the opposite problem. It tasted like a lemonade with no alcohol at all, or watered down alcohol. She's a fairly lightweight that does not like strong drinks, gets tipsy off of two, and she complained throughout its consumption that the drink seemed weak and not worth ordering another. 2.0/10 We were both interested in another cocktail, but due to the loud nature of the place, the over abundance of light, and the poorly crafted cocktails, we drove to another establishment for our second round. Food ordered: Seafood Chowder - Great job, delicious, ample seafood throughout 9.5/10 Brisket Poutine - Good but it lacked cheese curds and gravy. 7.0/10 Beef tenderloin tips - terrible... the dish came out cold, we ordered the GF option, and the bread substitute was gross. The dish was overly salty, and the beef was way, way over cooked; not even medium well, most of it was well done, and tough; this was $30 wasted, we barely touched it and it's still in the fridge two days later. I'll likely throw it out. 2.0/10 Chicken Fried Lobster - nice dish, I hated the dill, but my date licked it. The dill aside, it was delicious; nice presentation, great tasting waffle, w/ well favored garnishes. However, the dish was barely warm when it came out, the ricotta/cream soaked into the waffle, and it was soggy. If it came out of the kitchen promptly it would have likely been better. 7.0/10 I'd consider ordering the chicken fried waffle again, but bad cocktails will likely keep me away. It's tough to pay $30+ in bad cocktails to accompany a $100+ meal. I'd strongly suggest turning down the lights after 8:30pm or so, and installing some noise canceling/light panels to bring the ceiling height down, quiet the place down some, and make it seem more intimate. The two tables opposite the the kitchen, in the damn hallway to the bathroom, should either be gotten rid of, made into high-tops, or install a lower counter-service along that wall for a "chef's experience." Those tables absolutely suck. We sat at them at our first visit, they tried to sit us there for our 2nd visit, but moved us after our objection. I laughed a bit throughout our meal as the people that were subsequently seated at those tables complained during their meal of the constant bumps, and interruptions that come with the territory. Finally, our waitress did a great job. The food runner was late on a couple of our dishes, resulting in cold food, but the waitress' service seemed great.

My grilled fish fillet platter said that it would have 3 fish fillet skewers. I thought that these would match the menu pictures (see https://alizseafoodhouse.com/storage/2023/09/Alisz-Dine-in-Menu-9-25-2023_r.pdf). I specified that I wanted the marinated skewers. Instead, I got 3 long fillets that were overly spiced for my taste. 2. The person taking my order asked if I wanted white or brown rice with my platter. I asked for brown, thrilled that they would have it. I got white rice that was brown colored due to spicing. There was a huge amount of it, too. 3. My salads leaked in their bags because they were packaged poorly. 4. The fattoush salad dressing was way sweeter than any I've ever had. It was almost like candy, not what I was looking for. 5. The fried cauliflower seemed greasy and had no tahini (a first). Notes to restaurant: - Please don't say that you are giving skewers on the platters unless they match your pictures (which they didn't). - Please don't call your seasoned rice brown. Brown rice is something different (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_rice?wprov=sfti1). - Consider letting people substitute sautéed vegetables for rice (some people are trying to cut out simple carbs). - Please package your carry-out salads not to leak. - You may want to mention the sweetness of your fattoush dressing since it differs from many others. - Include tahini with your cauliflower.
