Q is for Qdoba: Been to this Qdoba multiple times throughout the years mostly on my own but also with my girlfriend a couple of times. Possibly the first time I ever went to this location was when I was doing Uber driving around 2017. I believe the most recent time was on Friday, January 31, 2025. Food is always very good. The staff is cordial but not always so knowledgeable about the app/deals. My girlfriend saw my frustration with a Future debit card I had for a January promotion I was trying to get that I found out about 2 days before the end of January, but it was my confusion and them not clarifying how it, not Qdoba staff fault. This Qdoba is definitely a good, viable eating option in this Tech Road shopping center. read more

I've visited this Qdoba location on Tech Road three times now and unfortunately, I've noticed a very concerning and consistent pattern that I can no longer ignore. Each time I've come in, I've observed the same thing. Hispanic customers are being served noticeably larger portions, especially when it comes to protein like chicken or steak, often double or even triple servings without even requesting it. Meanwhile, non-Hispanic customers (myself included) are given much smaller portions--just a few tiny pieces of meat--and when we politely ask for a little more, we're told it will cost extra. In my case, I was even told I'd be charged triple just for asking to match the amount the person ahead of me received. This happened again during my most recent visit. I watched the server, wearing blue, overfill the bowls of multiple Hispanic customers, then turn around and barely fill bowls for African American, White, Indian, and Asian customers. It wasn't a one-off; it was consistent and frankly upsetting to witness. I don't believe in jumping to conclusions lightly, but at this point, it's clear there's biased and unfair treatment happening here. Everyone deserves to be treated equally, especially when paying the same price for the same product. I'm posting this not to shame anyone, but because this needs to be addressed. Discrimination, intentional or not, is not acceptable in any setting, including a fast-casual restaurant. I have a photo of the server in question and will be including it as part of this review. I've come here a few times already and I forgot how good Qdoba can be. Qdoba were sparse where I moved from and to see that there was one nearby made me nostalgic. It does not matter the time of day that I visit here, they never seem to be busy. I mean there are people in the restaurant but they run so smoothly behind the counter that it is not a problem for them. I always go with a bowl here, never sway from that as I feel like you get the best bang for your buck. Choose your rice, bean, and protein and then you move onto your toppings. Unlike their competitors, you do not pay extra for what is considered premium toppings. I always go with lettuce, cheese, sour cream, pico, guac, queso and whatever else I feel will make me happy at that moment. When it comes time to pay, it's a bit hard to hear what they are saying. You have to have them repeat their self in order to get an accurate reading of the cost of your meal. During this time you can add on anything extra, i.e., drink, chips and salsa, etc. I never eat in here, I usually get my food and go. Eating in here isn't all that bad, I would assume. If I felt like doing that it would have to be on a day when I'm not in a rush. read more

*Updated review* Earlier today I stopped by to grab lunch - a burrito bowl (my usual here). Once again, there's no indoor dining so take-out or curbside only or if you're brave enough (way too cold for me), some outdoor seating. I don't come here often but I have a few times during the pandemic. Usually they're very generous with their portions but not today. I know it's hard to hear with a mask but it was frustrating trying to a place an order here. I had attempted to order via the app to avoid this but the app wasn't working. Been hearing people swear about this place for years. Being a lifelong Mexican enthusiast, I'm never all that inclined to do anything that remotely whiffs of "fast food" or fast casual "Tex-Mexy" kinda places. I make my own authentic Mex and nothing can top that. Plus, I'd already gotten the word that it was a Chipotle knockoff. This place only serves flour shells or hard-shelled corn tortillas, for example....which evidences my point about authenticity. I wanted to try a few tacos but not eating a shell of "Doritos", even though I like Doritos - just not on my taco. That said, this place is completely reminiscent of Chipotle as mentioned, only plus what appears to be fresher ingredients and minus repeated health code violations. The "bowl" here is even called a "Burrito Bowl", just like Chipotle and it's even referred to by the same name. You'd think that kind of thing would be trademarked or something. Qdoba started two years after Chipotle so they definitely [apparently] copied the formula. Similarly, the Burrito Bowl starts with a base of seasoned rice and you have them add the toppings of your choice as your bowl makes its way down the line to the cashier. No designation OR SIGN as to where to order as you snake around towards the register, btw. I ended up bypassing the order area and stopping at the cashier area....where I ended up waiting just long enough for a lady to come behind me - and start placing her LONG ASS order. I slid back to the "order area" muttering aloud that I overshot the target and welp....she kept ordering with nary a concern that I "technically" was ahead of her - even though she asked me what happened lol.*eye roll* It wouldn't kill them to post an ORDER HERE sign. Jeez. My bowl had the following: Rice, chicken/steak/50/50, fajita vegetables, corn, pico de gallo, guac, lettuce, shredded cheese, habanero salsa and jalapeno.... $9 and tax - generous portion size. Fast Food, Mexican Food I have never been here before and decided to try it. The resteraunt itself we found to be dirty with the kitchen ate to be clean. I got The Pulled Pork "Two Timer" Taco with a side of Pinto Beans. Both were tasty but the taco was very messy and fell apart after the first bite as the Shell got very soggy as they are packing so much into a taco shell. My wife got the Taco Salad which she stated was very good. She also got a side of the tortilla soup which was just ok. The one issue I did have is that on the menu board, the writing of what's on each item is so small and far from where you order that I had a very difficult time reading it. This used to be a "go to" spot for us, with regular lunches and what not from them. Over the past 3-4 months, it has consistently declined, with today, I think, being the "last straw." It's a QDOBA, and you kind of know what you're going to get going in. Free guac, but otherwise, it's not so different from thousands of other fast-food pseudo-Mexican places. They've got some good variety, and some fun menu items, which I genuinely have enjoyed (brisket burrito? my absolute favorite). But, they are so, so, so, so slow. Orders placed via the App usually tell you that you have a 10-15 minute wait time until its ready. I've arrived 20-25 minutes after the order is placed and STILL had to wait another 15-20 minutes. Sometimes, if they see you standing there for 10 minutes, a staff member will come over and ask who you are so they can START your order that should have been ready 20 minutes previous. This is often when they're not even remotely busy. And when they're busy? Good gods. Their social distancing is a joke. The cashier will often become the slowest link in the chain, and the person at the start of the line will continue waving people in, forcing a scrum at the register of a half dozen people, falling over one another and trying to get out. You can easily spend an entire lunch break watching your burrito turn into a sodden mess while waiting to pay. Today, today though, was the last straw for me. I placed an order on the app. Ready in 11 minutes. So, I left the house after 15-minutes (it's like 5 minutes away). Got there, surprise, surprise, surprise! my order isn't ready, although the restaurant was nearly empty. After waiting for about 5 minutes, someone came over, who was notably hard of hearing. I had to repeat everything, and she kept pointing at her ear and asking "Que?" I'm not soft spoken with a mask on... but I reached the point of actually feeling bad about my volume as I'm screaming at this lady who simply can't hear me (not, you know, angry screaming, just loud). She finally figures out my name, goes back, and comes back about 5 minutes, "Jonathon?" "No... Joshua." Disappears for another couple of minutes, and then comes back. Long story short, they don't have my order. At all. I wasn't able to discern if someone else had taken it, or it was a glitch in their system, or what. There's a "pending" charge on my card, so it went through.... I just left. There are lots of actually /good/ Tex Mex restaurants nearby, locally owned and small businesses. QDOBA has done nothing to earn my business, nothing to keep my business, and nothing to deserve it: I'd rather give it to a local company. Ingredients are fresh, but they lack any notable seasoning/cooking techniques - which prevents flavor from popping. *Small scooper w/ trigger release is used for guac - helps w/ restaurant portion control, but zaps ordering experience for customer. *So many toppings, but no clear labels/allergy info on the food line. Hard to ask questions w/o holding up the line - so ordering can get overwhelming. Overall: Reliable spot if you are looking are quick + healthy meal. Food quality is good, but taste is average + lacks memorable flavors. The good- -location is convenient -every time I've been there the line is typically less than 5-6 people, so no long wait for food -tastes fresh, delicious food -free guac!!! -customer service is great The bad- Not really anything bad to say about this place, i do prefer chipotle because it has a little bit more flavor but overall their food is tasty as well!! read more

This was my first ever visit to a QDOBA and I was pleasantly impressed at the quality and taste of my quesadilla. The steak, peppers, onions, black beans, and cheese were fresh! The guacamole was also good. The restaurant has indoor dinning and the bathrooms were clean. I have been coming to this place since it opened even when I was working at the Panera Bread next to it in my college days. I love this place. I honestly think most of the staff where 50/50 on the happy personality, but its almost all customer service fast food chains that have staff like that. lol I personally like this spot instead of Chipotle! I always get the bowl with the huge taco inside and its amazing! I love their rice and beans. Their chicken is not super spicy and they have a great amount of sauces. I like how they do the Wednesday nights 50% off entree with a regular drink purchase. I love going in on those days whenever I am in the area. The food here is not bad. They now give you guacamole at no charge with your order, but it's just a dollop. I only ever get the quesadilla with chicken (my occasional meat of choice), and I always regret it and wish I just ordered a veggie one. The chicken pieces are teeny tiny cubes - lots of dark meat and some gristle. Maybe for those of you that eat meat daily it's fine. I will stick with chick-Fil-A for my chicken cheat from now on. The quesadilla is quite large. So it should be for $7.80. It is priced about the same as you'd pay at a sit down chain such Austin Grill or Friday's. I did bring some home, along with pieces of meat I picked out for my pooch. My friend liked her Smothered Chicken Wrap, also $7.80. If you're a bovine consumer, then that seems more substantial. We came because I had a buy one/get one free postcard. I can't complain about that deal! The servers are friendly. Plus, Qdoba is kind to teachers. The service is fast and friendly, and staff was working under the pressure of a knocked-out register system as a result of a storm disrupting electricity. I ordered the burrito with queso diablo (not as spicy as they make it out to be). The ingredients were fresh delicious, and after all the ingredients I added had a impressively heavy and large burrito. Food is always hot and fresh. The staff are always nice, they greet you as soon as you walk in. The place is always clean and it's great to be able to enjoy lunch outside on a nice day. Tired of all the lunch options in this area I decided to give Qdoba another chance since the last time I've eaten at one was in 2009. They haven't changed much. They make a fine quesadilla. They don't skimp on the portions and it's quite filling, I recommend it with the shredded pork and chicken. However, their sauces are so bland it's pathetic. You can't give me your hottest sauce and it tastes like tomato's... Seriously, all "mexican" type places need great sauces. That's what gets you remembered. Anyone can fold a tortilla, add cheese, and insert meat. It's the little things that set you apart. Also, the chairs are hard as hell!! No cushions whatsoever. The worst part is when the women behind the counter assume that you are what they appear to be a non-Spanish speaker however low and behold you are. I asked if I could get both white and brown rice mixed in a burrito. The two women started laughing and started saying just how ridiculous the order was and continued to make jokes while speaking Spanish not realizing that I myself am a fluent Spanish speaker. I kindly laughed it off and kept it moving as I did not want my food ruined due to me letting them have it. Not one scoop of guacamole also the lettuce!! The lettuce was so old it had brown spots like how is that possible.
