I ordered 3 tacos to go. I like that they are individually wrapped. I've ordered the steak bowl before so I was excited to order the tacos, however I was sadly disappointed. The meat was extremely dry and tough this time. Also, I added onion & cilantro to the tacos like traditional street tacos. usually this is finely chopped but that's not what I got. The diced onions were as big as the beef chunks!

Accepts both cash and credit card. You can also order from UBEREATs and on their website. I never heard of district taco before, but I guess they are found in numerous locations. We decided to give this place a try. We were craving tacos and tried this place. We ordered their tacos (chicken, barbacoa, and steak). Of the three tacos, the steak was our favorite. For each taco, you have options for toppings. They do have an extensive list of toppings to choose from. Once you select your toppings, the tacos are wrapped together and wrapped all together in foil. They do pack a decent amount of toppings in the tacos. Very good weight. If you are in the mood for tacos, I think this is a decent option. At the time, 3 tacos was around $10, but the tacos are packed with ingredients. Also, you can choose whether you want corn or flour tortilla.

This was my first visit here for dinner on 10/15/19, which used to be Oriental East Restaurant. The layout changed dramatically. You order and pay at the counter. If dining in, a server will bring your order to your table. The workers were friendly. While you wait, you can obtain different salsas (free) to add as toppings. It took 10 minutes for my order to arrive at my table. I had 2 grilled fish tacos for $3.59 each, which is only available on Tuesday, Friday, and weekends. The tacos were served cold and pieces of fish were salty. I was expecting the tacos to be warm. I recommend going to California Tortilla for fish tacos in the local area. They are cheaper and taste much better. I may come back again and try something different and hopefully it will be served hot.

Okay okay! I'm ready to weigh in! I wanted to rate DT higher but it's always something minor that ends up holding me back. The order is messed up, something is missing, hard to get assistance...something. The food: (could be better category) nachos... tried it, had better. Fish taco... tried it unimpressed. (Personal faves) shrimp tacos, amongst my faves but if slaw and/or chipotle mayo isn't your thing you may wanna pass. Chorizo tacos, chorizo makes everything better. Fuerte (bacon) breakfast taco, who doesn't like bacon?! Side of guacamole, taste pretty fresh. (Sufficient) chorizo quesadilla, like I said... chorizo makes everything better. The chips, prob my least favorite chips to go with salsa and/or guacamole. As of this post you still couldn't order online but allegedly they're supposed to get it next week, so that's a drawback. But it's convenient for me so I'll still be coming!

My friend and I visited around 6:30pm and a brief wait in line. As most District Tacos are laid out, this one is long and narrow as well with plenty of seating including booths along the inside walls. There's their centrally located salsa bar, which was full of jalapeños, cilantro, and three kinds of sauces. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The food delivery guy offered to drop off my food at my table because my hands were full. Like Chick-fil-A where they're all trained to say, "My pleasure," here they all say, "Buen Provecho." I ordered three build-your-own veggie tacos in "the American way." The ingredients were fresh, neatly assembled, and tasted great! I also ordered chips and queso. The queso is 4 oz, which is that tiny little plastic container and very very little for the amount of chips you get. Queso was fresh and hot and chips were crispy and adequately salted. There is plenty of parking out front, it is walking distance from the Silver Spring Metro (when exiting metro, take the exits on the LEFT), and near many bus stops, so getting here is no issue.

I'm sad that I was out of town for the grand opening, but I don't think I would have waited in a long line for a free $3.00 taco. I finally made it here today, but coming at 12:10 probably wasn't the wisest idea. The line was long, but it moved quickly. I was disappointed that I couldn't use my District Taco app to preorder; Silver Spring hasn't been added yet. I knew exactly what I wanted - fish tacos! They're only available on Tuesdays, and Friday-Sunday. I had to plan my visit accordingly. I was able to use my app to pay, so that was quick and easy. I got my tacos to go. I'm going to assume that my tacos were pre-made because 1) I got my order (#44) before several people with order numbers in the 30s, and 2) my fish was cold, and so was the tortillas like they were kept refrigerated. I only live one mile away, so it wasn't my commute. This wasn't a big problem because I was able to microwave them. They were still good as always. I like that you buy single fish and shrimp tacos here. In Riverdale, the only option is to buy three. Several people mentioned that there is plenty of parking. However, it's a bit of a nightmare. There's construction and some of the lot directly behind DT is blocked off. The pick-up only spots are not used for that purpose because I was picking up and the cars did not change. Also, some rows are one way only and cars don't heed the rules. So, be cautious when parking. I will be back for their shrimp tacos, but I will be sure to come at a non peak hour.

We were sat right away and I was surprised at how big the restaurant is (way bigger than it looks from the outside!). I started with a hibiscus margarita, which was delicious. Then we ordered a few things to split, including: guac and tostadas, charred cabbage, gorditas with chorizo, aguachile negro, and the beef short rib platter. The charred cabbage was the biggest sleeper hit. It was so flavorful and unlike anything I've ever had before. Everything else was delicious, although the aguachile was probably my least favorite of what we tried. We finished with the rose water tres leches and the dulce de leche crepes. The tres leches were pretty good but the crepes were amazing. I don't usually love dulce de leche, but it was definitely a standout.

If you are planning to visit during popular dining hours, it might be worth it to make a reservation. We arrived during a weekend around 5:30 pm, and the place was somewhat empty. However, by 6-6:15 pm, the place was PACKED. I was a very surprised (in a good way) that the menu was a bit smaller compared to other Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurants in the area. I necessarily do not think the smaller menu is a bad thing because, with a smaller menu, a restaurant can focus on preparing everything well (i.e., it's easier to do a good job with 20-item menu versus a 50+-item menu). For my dining pleasure, I went with the enchiladas suizas with a few margaritas. Overall, I thought my plate was very delicious; however, other diners at my table and I noticed that the portion sizes were a bit small for the price. Perhaps, the restaurant uses higher quality ingredients for its dishes. Although the margarita sizes might appear to be small, they definitely are not "small" in power/punch, so the $13-$18 price range is appropriate. My favorite margarita of the night definitely was the El Jardinero, which was a wonderful mix of carrot, cilantro, peach, lime and a semi-spicy pepper of sorts. Collectively, we all thought the service was exceptional because our waitress constantly visited the table. Personally, I thought it was a bit overkill, but that's a very, very minor complaint based on my very, very personal preference.

I would describe them as a combination of classic and elevated Latin food. The vibe of the restaurant is very casual, but the presentation of many of the dishes takes it to another level. They also have a wide selection of beer and wine. I have had tacos, octopus, breakfast tacos, and tamales. Everything was flavorful and quite tasty. I will admit service was a little slow the last time I went, but given the weather and the fact that we weren't in a rush it wasn't a big deal. If you haven't been yet, you should go. Could work on those fried plantains as they were a little soggy. The quinoa salad was good, a bigger portion would have been nice for the price paid and maybe if it would be easier to eat if served in a bowl. The chorizo sandwich was okay. Presentation and bread could be better. We left curious about their regular menu so we may give it a try some other time. Their staff were nice but not very knowledgeable about their menu items. They didn't really know how to answer my question about their vegan tres leches and told me it was not actually vegan after indicating it had condensed milk and heavy cream.

They were super fast with their service, but also showed warmth and kindness the entire time that made the meal delightful. The decor in the restaurant is vibrant and fun. They also had a clean, well-kept bathroom. The food was great. Everything came out in a timely manner and was excellently flavored and balanced. You could tell that this wasn't just like your run-of-the-mill taco joint. The flavors had a depth (especially the guisado) that brought things up a notch. But, like I was saying - although the food was great and memorable, I was really appreciative of how awesome the staff was and would love visiting again if we're in the area. I knew it was going to be busy on a Saturday night, so I wanted to place my order in advance to minimize wait time but the website was not accepting orders at the time. So I drove down and took my chances, knowing I would have to wait. And honestly, even though it was packed, it took a total of 30 minutes from walking into the building before I had my burrito in hand. They were processing orders from UberEats, DoorDash, you name it, and also processing the dine-in and other take out orders. I waited by the bar with my Arnold Palmer (so refreshing) just watching the sheer magnitude of kitchen orders they were processing. Now for the most important part - the burrito! I went with a classic, the chicken super burrito. It was fantastic!! The guacamole was fresh, it was the perfect amount cheesy and moist from the cheese and sour cream, the chicken was tender, the rice and beans were flavorful, and the tortilla was perfectly warm and tasty holding it all together. I also loved the salsa verde on the side, it was punchy and so delicious. I had have had so many meh burritos in the DC area and this one truly stands out and is so good, even if it is double the price of those others. It is also a HUGE portion so you at least are getting a good bang for your buck. I definitely need to go again for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and try the entire menu, and all of the coffee drinks - I had my eye on the horchata latte but not with my dinner. I literally can't stop thinking about how good it was and I cannot wait to go back.

Just because it's free doesn't mean it has to be v8 with some onions and cilantro mixed in. Definitely a miss. Black bean burrito: get that hot sauce, you are gonna need it solely for flavor. The ranchera sauce s is tasted suspiciously like ole El Paso enchilada sauce from tin. A miss for me on its own, passable if you add the hot sauce. Chicken tacos: "good". Not great. Tortillas not warmed up properly. That hot sauce they give you comes in super useful just to get some flavor because on its own it just isn't doing much. He ate them all but that was hunger more than enjoyment. Again a miss without the sauce. Mango and strawberry mojito: actually good! Nice flavor, not too much sugary mix. A hit!
