Almost 2 of driving and waiting and it's 10000% worth it. We saw the Philly on our favorite YouTubers channel and he rated it a 9.5/10. My boyfriend's family is from Philly so we had to try it out. When we arrived, it was a long line but it shortened pretty quickly. The guy at the front was super nice and was a boss at handling all the orders. We ordered a Philly with no Mayo, added peppers with a side of fries. The wait was about 25 mins and the food was piping hot. We immediately dug into the fries (after saying a quicker prayer of course) and was pleasantly surprised. They tasted like a better Micky D's fry! We instantly regretted not ordering 2. Since the ride home was long, we pulled over for a taste test. It was AMAZING! It was creamy. It was flavorful. It was meaty. It was nostalgic. My boyfriend doesn't normally eat dairy but he definitely took 3-4 big bites lol I rate it a 9.5 out of ten. I wish they used green bell peppers instead of red and the next time I'll add jalapeños or banana peppers for a 10/10 experience. This has definitely become a staple in our food rotation.

The fries are thin, crisp, and addictive. The local oysters arrive beautifully presented on a bed of ice with fresh horseradish and cocktail sauce. I have been known to eat as many as 50 in one sitting--in true Balzacian fashion. Everyone seems to love the ancient-grains salad, and Motorkat also does grilled meats exceptionally well. I appreciated that the salad did not come drenched in dressing. The curry friend chicken was phenomenal! The chicken fell of the bone so easily and was so crispy, moist, and overall outstanding. The curry and impossible rice paired perfectly with it. Finally, the desserts! I could have eaten two of the trifle dessert...it was smooth, creamy, and the perfect amount of sweet. It was everyone's favorite between the two. The sorbet was good, but I found the white chocolate a little weird/awkward since it was sitting around a bunch of cold sorbet...didn't melt or mesh well with the dish. For starters, we got the New England Clam Chowder and an order of Chickpea Fries. New England Clam Chowder - definitely a chowder and not a soup (heavy cream base) with a nice flavor and a healthy amount of clam bits. Chickpea Fries - A nice portion of well prepared fries. Nice crunch on the outside, but moist on the inside. Well seasoned and not oily. Comes with ketchup and an avocado lime ranch, which was ok. It's a huge portion and we took most of it home to enjoy later. Good use of chickpeas. Branzino - This is a whole fish split in half. Pretty easy to remove the bones oneself. The skin was nice and crunchy with the meat inside moist. Well prepared. I'm not a huge fan of dill and I think the seasoning of dill is a bit overdone here. (I'm pretty sure it's dill. Whatever it is, it's too heavy for me and detracts from the meal.). The wild rice side dish is very good. Lobster Roll - Excellent. My partner ordered this and the only comment was that the large was very big and next time they likely would get the small one. Lots of delicious, cold lobster meat. The fries also were excellent. The service overall was very good. Our food was served at an appropriate rate (apps, then main, which seems not to be important at a lot of restaurants these days) and the water service was excellent. Recommend this restaurant. I probably would not get the Branzino again because of the heavy dill seasoning, but there are other items in the menu that look interesting.

Their happy hour prices are very reasonable, making it an easy spot to enjoy without breaking the bank. I ordered the spinach dip, which was absolutely amazing, along with the pita and hummus, which was fresh and tasty. The standout for me, though, was the steak and cheese egg rolls, super good! Everything came out fresh, and the service made for an enjoyable experience. An added bonus is their outdoor lounge area, which creates a great atmosphere for relaxing with friends or enjoying a nice evening out. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend Olive Lounge to anyone looking for great Mediterranean food, good drinks, and a welcoming vibe in Takoma Park.

Be prepared for a wait on weekends--this is one of Takoma Park's most popular brunch destinations. Like many cafés these days, it's a favorite of laptop-wielding remote workers, so tables can be at a premium.
