Great experience at Panera. The location is clean and well-maintained, and the bagels are always fresh. It's a reliable spot when you want something quick but still satisfying. I especially love it for a soup and salad lunch -- it's fast, convenient, and feels like a lighter, healthier option. It's also a great choice for an easy dinner or even a simple meal prep option when you're trying to stay on track. Consistently good quality and a comfortable atmosphere. Definitely five stars. read more

Great to enjoy this full format Panera Bread in downtown Bethesda, compared to the "to go" and other truncated city versions nearby me in New York! This particular location is a great space with wonderful covered outdoor tables to enjoy your food, as well as many different seating sections, including proper tables, comfy chairs with side tables, and a nice window counter bar with outlets to look out and eat while doing work on your laptop. The bakery section here has a range of fresh breads, pastries, etc. to choose from. It's clear from how busy it is that people really enjoy it. The only reason I'm giving this Panera experience four stars however was for my Asiago "Bagel." (That's one of their non-traditional savory "bagels," which is basically a round roll with no hole.) Brought one, untoasted yet sliced, with me back to my family's place. Clearly, it was (see pic) disappointingly the most pale, sad, fluffy Wonder Bread type of bagel I've experienced from a Panera or anywhere, albeit with Asiago cheese "baked" on to add flavor on top. Expected better from Panera! read more

I've been to this Panera twice. I love going here whenever I'm in this area because the seating areas are always so nicely intimate to have those business conversations that 1 might need. I love the Cross sandwich. Is my absolute most favorite sandwich right now. A gooey and delicious. read more

The delivery service is horrible -- the order is frequently wrong!!!! For breakfast this morning at 8:30 AM, I ordered a plain blueberry bagel, sliced in half and toasted. Well, it was sliced... but NOT toasted! Unbelievable!!! It's NOT complicated. A simple order like that should be easy to get right. read more

About a 1-1.5: This Panera cannot be trusted - putting in a large group lunch order, we were quoted at a specific time, but they ended up being 45+ minutes late. I'm unsure what the point was putting in individual customized orders, as nothing was adhered to - I had the Toasted Frontega Chicken, which the sandwich itself was not toasted; the pulled chicken, while generous in terms of the amount, were super dried out and hardened; there didn't seem to be any mozzarella included; I had requested extra red onoins and tomatoes, but those were not included or added; there was no chipotle sauce in the sandwich, but a side of it was offered (I did ask for extra sauce, too...). The black pepper focaccia itself was super thick, but not as fresh; the sandwich, which should have been a warm/hot sandwich, arrived cold. There are plenty of other eateries in the area, and this is a place to just pass up on. +cold, dried sandwiches +customizations not adhered to +does not keep scheduled time for delivery read more

Tasty Soup/Prompt Service! I visited today for a quick lunch. The place very busy, ordering line short. Tried the "creamy chicken w/wild rice." Delicious, creamy texture, tasty chicken & veggies. Prompt courteous customer service. Seating available w/View. See Photos. read more

Good customer service. Ample indoor and outdoor seating. They're located in a busy area, but there's decent street parking and parking garages nearby. I stopped in to grab a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. Ordered in person. The wait wasn't too long. I would visit again. read more

Solid three stars. Panera bread is Panera bread! Nothing special here and parking isn't the best.

Pre-order by mobile app. There is public parking lots 100 feet down the street. The drink was ready on the Rapid Pick-Up shelf. There are a few tables on the outdoor porch area. One of my favorites for "fast food" dinner spots. My favorite is their 'You Pick Two' option for dinner choices. Also, I appreciate their staff's courtesy. read more

It was the first time I dined at this restaurant, and overall I'd say I had a pretty good experience!. They had a really vast menu selection. The cashier was extremely friendly and helpful. My order was prepared very promptly, and there were a few hiccups with picking it up, but it wasn't that big of a deal. The dining area had plenty of seating and the atmosphere was pleasant. I had the kickin' grilled cheese sandwich a fruit salad broccoli and cheese soup orange scone and for the beverage, a lavender lemonade The sandwich was delicious and hearty, though calling it "grilled" might be an overstatement...the bread seemed microwaved if anything. If you make a sandwich with thick bread slices, one side should definitely have a crisp to it. The salad had a fun assortment of fruit. The soup was a little bit heavy on the pepper, but I think it was the best part of the meal. The scone was nice, it had just emerged from the oven and was very soft and flavorful--probably the only decent scone I've ever had (though I haven't eaten many) The lemonade was okay (not bad, but honestly, i think I should've gone with the a traditional lemonade. I loved that they included a piece of a baguette (very fresh yet lukewarm)...it was a really nice touch--though i kind would've liked it if some butter were included with it. Overall I'm happy that I ate here. My impression of Panera is that it's a mid-tier type of restaurant--half way between fast food and casual dining (like Chipotle). Some people like it, some people don't. If you're looking to treat yourself to something a little fancier than Subway, then you should definitely consider Panera! read more

Cafe #203779 This Panera in downtown Bethesda, definitely deserves a five star rating. As a regular, and a member of "the Sip Club", I stop in frequently throughout the day, from early morning to late evening. The cafe and restrooms are always spotless, and service even at the busiest times is fast and friendly. Management (Iris, Ryan, Henri and Janus) are always on the move helping other staff prepare food at busy times and attending to patrons or walking around cleaning at other times.. The service staff - Troy, Lolita, Fraol, Robel, Jennifer, Moriah, Sam, Gabby, Edlaw, Tilac and others could not be more efficient, patient or friendly. The food, (salads, sandwiches, desserts and drinks) is delicious and served at the right temperature no matter how busy the cafe is. Staff goes out of their way to make sure that you are content with your order. You never see staff on their cellphones as they are making great eye contact with you to ensure that your order is correct and that you are happy with it. My only complaint is that they should improve the quality of their paper straws! Bethesda - Wisconsin Ave south of East-West Hwy read more

bread. "Yelp" was my exact reactions after trying the hot chocolate from panera. I think they took the show too seriously when they said "H2O Just Add Water" because that is exactly what this hot chocolate tasted like. just water. As for the bread. there was a lot of it. me and my friend ordered bread bowls, and instead of asking for what we wanted for our side, we received bread. mid bread. nice decor though very brown. read more

I have been here a handful of times for lunch & each time my visit is missing the mark. -Employees are nonchalant about the long of line of customers...again, during lunchtime. -Employees are nonchalant about the accuracy of orders. -The quality of food/ingredients are not as fresh as they should be. Perhaps it is the same employees when I visit that makes my experience subpar, who knows. I will note as a sidebar that a few departments in my organization were not pleased with the catering aspect. I may give Panera Bread another try, yet no time soon. read more

7:00 in the morning - cold hard bagels, clearly from yesterday. If I wanted old bread I would have gone to a supermarket, not Panera.

I love their food and I probably order to-go at least 2-3x a month. BUT, they almost never get my order right. The soup is always the wrong soup, the salad is often missing the dressing, and they always forget to add the fruit cup side I paid for, which costs an extra $2. I can't tell you how many times I've grabbed my to-go bag and gotten back to work with errors with my order. (although it's a very convenient set up they have your name and your order ready for you in a cubby to grab and go and they even do curbside which is super fast.) But stop and check everything in your order first, or you'll be disappointed. And what is with the apples (side) lately? read more

I order from this location every Thursday while I'm in the office. My order is already completed online. I have a very limited time range to pick up my order so I order ahead. This location will receive my order and immediately say it's ready for pickup. When I arrive it's never complete which makes we wait. This is very frustrating! They rarely use the pickup shelf, so I am required to go to the back of the restaurant to wait for my food. Today I ordered a frozen drink and the cup was half full, yet I paid full price. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to complain or wait as I waited long enough even though the app said my order was ready for pickup. Although this is a very convenient location, this will be my last time frequenting this establishment! read more

I love panera, but at this specific location i always have a mistake happening. Especially when i order My bagels. Poor service it took 40 minutes to get my food which was only Baja bowl with chicken.

Great location great food! Perfect for studying and a casual warm meal. Only critique is the service can be slow at times.

I ordered online at 11:23 and was instructed pick up would be approximate 12:23 I got there at 12:20 and I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited and Waite. After being told multiple times the order was being worked in I finally got my order at 1:09. it took an hour an 46 minutes to make 7 meals. I was also in line with several people who received wrong orders. They only got 1 soup of our order wrong. Never again will I order on line. Panera Bread - Was smushed up against the side... definitely didn't crawl in after I opened. - Sandwiches Near Me - Bethesda, Maryland

Only reason I'm giving this a 3/5 is because I asked to sample the lobster Mac and cheese and was told that I could not (by employee and manager). I asked what happens if I purchase and don't like the taste if I could get my money back, and was also told no. I think that does not represent customer satisfaction. It should not be an issue to sample a food item... Otherwise the Chai tea latte is great and I like to study here. read more

I am an enjoyer of the Panera franchise and am unfortunately disgusted by this location. I had a chicken sandwich and saw a large piece of transparent plastic in it! I love Panera for the variety of food choices and the speed of getting the order out. Panera's food is healthier than most places when you eat out. I literally feel insulted by this salad. I feel like someone took off my top hat and threw in in a puddle and then slapped me in the face... like a 1900 style insult. Pre-cut bagged lettuce, pre-cooked pre-charred edamame, pre-over-cooked chicken cut oddly thin, and a drizzle of some peanut sauce. There are also pre roasted red peppers in this mix, it tastes like they were roasted a year ago, with a half a table spoon of crushed cashews. I added avocado to the salad, cause avocado to me is like a fried egg, it can go on top of anything. They can't even be bothered to freshly slice the avocado. It's been in the fridge pre-sliced. The fridge has zapped it of it's flavor. The dressing, thank G-d I got it on the side, taste oddly of chemicals (like what I think borax taste like). I got a second dressing, the herb vinaigrette, just in case I didn't like the Thai one. That one tastes spoiled. Like rotten eggs. Even the pickle I asked for on the side is limp, soft, with not even a shadow of a crisp. Even McDonald's salads are so much better than this. What have I done to deserve this? I'd like a refund. read more

I usually love this Panera, but today they served me the skimpiest salad ever. I ordered a Green Goddess Cobb for pick-up. When I opened it at home, it barely filled half the bowl and looked as if someone had stood it on its side before bagging it. It was mostly arugula with a few leaves of other greens, a slice of avocado, a hard boiled egg and chicken. they would never have served this if I had eaten there. What a disappointment! read more

One and a half stars. I like Panera, but not this location. They completely missed the customization on my boxed lunch for our office catering, and the Thai chicken salad wasn't very good. Salad greens were starting to wilt with some stray grit, edamame was a little too charred, and the seasoning on the almost-dry chicken meat didn't quite fit in with the other flavors. Won't be back for a salad, especially if they're just going to stiff me on my side of bread. read more

I use Panera catering often for work events. I like everything about Panera and its company's philosophy. Today's order arrived 45 minutes late and with a few items wrong. The most disappointing part was continuously being put on hold when inquiring about the order and being given the run around. Just be honest and direct with your customers and at least offer an apology or way to make things right when they're polite on the phone and just wanting to feed the hungry crowd that's been waiting. read more

I'm from NY & eat @ Panera Bread 1-2x per week. I always order the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad. So while in MD I go to this location about 20 minutes before closing. I order my salad, & my son wanted a side order of the sliced chicken. When I got the side order, there were 4 skimpy slices of chicken at the most, & the rest of the chicken was the bottom of the barrel. I realized that they were closing, but that I also had paid for this. I told one of the guys preparing, that I would like this corrected, because I paid for a side of chicken, not a side of chicken crumble! He corrected it, no apologies. That's the reason for 4 stars. My salad was the BEST salad that I've EVER had from any Panera Bread! The chicken was FRESH, the salad greens were delicious & fresh and there were no lettuce veins AT ALL!!!!! so it was deliciously edible. They're doing something right, that other locations are not. I'd still return even after serving me chicken crumble. But other locations need to step up their game. read more
