First, I love Panera but this location seems a little lost. I ordered Mac n cheese with bacon, 3 sandwiches and soup. First, they forgot the bacon in my Mac and cheese but the person putting the order together caught it. Then they almost forgot my turkey chili but again, the lady caught it. Then they gave me my order and had forgotten to give me an entire sandwich which luckily one of the folks realized it as I was walking away. I came here to get some work done on a Sunday (opens at 7am!), and I really liked this Panera. The location is huge, comfortable, and clean. There are tons of smaller booths- great for one or two people to work- with plenty of outlets for laptops. There is also outdoor seating that looked really comfortable. They offer free Wi-Fi, the bathrooms were clean, and it never got too busy or loud. I love their drinks (large brewed brewed iced tea, $2.19; sugar-free vanilla latte, $3.69) and their breakfast (breakfast sandwich on ciabatta bread was $3.99, but a bagel with with honey walnut cream cheese is my absolute favorite). The employees were all friendly and regularly cleared my plate/drinks off of my table when I was finished. Not sure what the location is like during the week, but I'll definitely be back on Sundays to get more work done! read more

I've been working here all morning and afternoon (Saturday), and it's been great. The Panera is huge with a ton of seating and lots of outlets- which I've needed. There are lots of quiet corners for individuals and larger seating tables too. The outdoor seating area is really comfortable as well, with both tables and a bar to eat/work at. I can imagine this place being absolutely crazy on the weekdays and packed, but it is great on the weekends. Staff was really friendly and food came out quick. I might hesitate to work here on a weekday, but will definitely be back on weekends if I have a full day of work and need a place to get it done! read more

It's Panera. In Bethesda. This location has a couple things going for it. The location is prime amongst Bethesda office buildings and is just a few blocks from the Metro Station. It was definitely a good idea to locate near the Farmers Market county parking lot, since parking on Wisconsin Avenue is super restricted. Willow Lane is a oneway street, so heading back to Wisconsin after parking in said lot is kind of annoying, since you must loop through the neighborhood. The food is like every other Panera. Their Spinach and Bacon souffles are my early morning vice. Seriously, they're addicting. The coffee is OK, slightly below average, but gets the job done. They have a good amount of seating and the decor is matching every other location. I did appreciate the manager chasing after me to give me the credit card that my half asleep ass left on the counter. That was good. I'll come here when I'm craving a specific item or for those souffles, but Bethesda has too many great dining options to eat at Panera that often. read more

Wooooo!!! I was so happy when I realized they were building a Panera here. Finally a panera in Bethesda! Nice staff, quick service, plenty of tables with outlets. It's located near the metro and next to the women's Farmer market. The food tastes like standard Panera food. The staff was very friendly and patient and helped me with my order even when I lacked serious sleep and could not form coherent phrases. There is a nice addition to the neighborhood in terms of a place to either meet someone for lunch/dinner, come read a book/study/do work (wifi) etc. I'll definitely be visiting! read more

I love Panera bread. I frequent this location because it is convenient and close to my work place. The food is pretty average tasting for a Panera but that isn't my complaint. I just ordered a tomato soup and when i went to use the spoon it was face down so I could not inspect it but when i put the soup to my lips i felt a nasty crusty hard feeling. I immediately looked at the spoon and saw it was dirty with a nasty green crust like someone never washed it after another customer ate split pea. I went back to the front and asked for another bowl of soup. They said sure but no one apologized and they did not fill the bowl all the way the second time around and gave less croutons. I love Panera. This location is horrible. I'm not sure why, it is a nice spot, near metro and downtown Bethesda, but the staff needs a total rehaul except for Will (not sure if he was manager, but he attempted to make things right). However, I was going to give one star even before my order was "lost due to an internet glitch". The cashier gave no greeting, eye contact, assistance..just stood there staring blankly as we ordered. She literally did not say a word. Just a blank stare. She handed me the pager and 30 minutes later, still no order. I approached the counter and Will quickly apologized, rrpoted the internet glitch and put my order together quickly. But the wild rice soup was cold and my grilled cheese sandwich was not grilled..just bread. Not toasted, and the tomato tasted like it came from a can. I dont know how that is even possible. This Panera bread is so good! Their service is one of the best! Although they get so busy during rush hour, they are pretty fast and get my order correct all the time. The manager is also really sweet and helpful. Unlike other Panera locations, this one always gives me my tomato soup warm! Their small cookie bags (12 count bag) taste like little balls of happiness! I usually love Panera - but this Panera was nothing like any locations I've been to in the past. I stopped in around 7 p.m. on a Tuesday while on my way up to Bethesda. The location was much larger than most locations. The staff, however, was incredibly obnoxious. While we were ordering, we could hear a girl screaming everything for no good reason. The whole restaurant could hear her. It's one thing to have fun at work, and it's another to disrupt the place. The food was not up to par. Things tasted like they had been sitting out for a while (despite both of us ordering panini's and soup). I also asked for no onion, which was indicated on my receipt, but they still put onions in my sandwich. Nit picky - I know - but when it's clearly written it shouldn't be that hard to follow. Very disappointed! This store is in my neighborhood, I visited them yesterday to have my favorite summer sandwich lobster! it was a takeaway sandwich and when I went to my car the sandwich was not a sandwich really. It was a 2 pieces of bread and the lobster was all over the box. Bread was not fresh and the lobster sauce covered the bottom bread so it became mushy. I ordered from Panera online. Picked up food on the morning of my daughter's wedding, and took it to a nearby hotel for the bride and bridesmaids as they got ready for the wedding. Unlike the Panera in Hanover, MD, this one is super clean and efficient. The employees here are pleasant, clean and maintain all product knowledge. I like when I have a customer card and the employees know exactly what to tell me such as my point balance and when I am up for a treat or free meal. I don't even have to ask! I used to get The Chicken Ceaser Sandwitch, The Pesto Cavatappi Pasta, or the Tomato and Mozzarella Panini, and today I walk into Panera and they stopped making All of my choices, including other things on the menu. They can't even put tomatos and cheese on bread for god sakes. You cant customize anything anymore and make your own sandwitch. I used to love this place, and im never coming back.
