The customer service was very disappointing. My friend and I were told we were being too loud, even though another group was screaming over a fly. The food came out cold and lacked flavor. On top of that, the manager kept watching me from the moment I walked in until I left, which made me uncomfortable. Overall, the experience left a really bad impression. The last few months. I have been having the worse luck at this location. Today was the icing on the cake because I actually did not get the food I ordered. So Qdoba owes me money. I placed an order on the app for pickup. When I arrived at the location around 3:25pm, the doors were locked. I can see one female employee inside moving some stuff around at the food station. I stood by the door and she did not acknowledged me at all. There was no note on the door why this location was closed. After a minute, two young girls also wanted to enter Qdoba. They're asked me whether they are closed and I stated I wasn't sure. After a minute of the two girls and I standing by the door, the staff inside shook her head no meaning they are not open. She made no attempt to come to the door to inform us anything. So now I paid for food that I did not get and a staff who did not want to encounter with confused customers. I hate complaining about a food establishment but this is absolutely ridiculous.The fact that it was closed did not bother me. But the staff refusing to acknowledge my presence is what made me mad. Edit: the manager reached out to me to inform me that they are having staffing shortage and refund me my money. I still find it rude how the one employee handled this. She could have put on a note on the door if she didn't want to answer the door every five minutes. Instead she chose to ignore customers at the door. read more

I ordered 2 bowls online and when I reached the store the order was not prepared yet but the person working through the pick ups started on my order right away. She meticulously worked through the order by making sure the right toppings are added based on my order. I really appreciate that. The food was warm and flavorful. The bowl was a little rice heavy and amount of chicken was less for my liking. I'll order extra protien next time to make sure I have enough chicken but overall for the price this is a great option! read more

Qdoba must be doing a great business. Almost any day of the week, there's always a long line of people waiting to order food. This year, I noticed the counter people were a lot more organized and friendlier than when they opened in 2016. Today, I ordered the deelicious Taco salad and added tequila lime chicken. You can order it in a bowl or in a large taco shell. Extras can be added like cheese, tomatoes, beans, guacamole, sour cream etc.... Qdoba does not skimp on their food. The food quality is good and fresh. For drinks, you can order soda, ice tea or water. These days, I'm just ordering water. A bottle of the Dasani water and Taco salad with tequila lime chicken ($7.99) came to $10.00 and some change. You can order online ahead for pick up. Maybe because it was lunchtime, the tables could've been a little cleaner. Anyway, I think Qdoba is changing for the better. During my check out, the friendly cashier told me Qdoba will be adding shrimp to the menu on June 6. There's plenty of seating in the restaurant. The people working there were friendly, but there are some issues with cleanliness, promptness, cold food, and too much salt. I came after the lunch rush so there was no one in line. Ordered two chicken tacos. Had to wait a few minutes for them to cook the chicken due to the lunch rush. No big deal. However, the food they served me was ice cold... no seriously, everything was cold even the chicken. To add insult to injury, the chips I ordered with my food were overly salted. Like wayyy too much salt. The chips all had a crystal white layer of chunky salt. I had to spit it out. I tried dusting the salt off the chips before I ate them but it only helped a little bit due to the salt being put on the chips fresh from the fryer. To add a cherry on top, there seemed to be some issues with cleanliness. Sweeping the floors while also serving food... that's not good. Food all over the place. First of all, I wouldn't eat out of this location if the meal was free and they paid me. My daughter scheduled a job interview via online confirmed and showed up, only to be told the hiring manager wasn't in and to come back the next day after 2. Being excited and eager she wanted to go back. To help her I decided to pick her up from school a bit earlier and take her. We get there only to be told the hiring manager was in the back and would be out shortly. Well needless to say 30 minutes later, I decided to go in and asked for the manager to help my daughter out only to be told the hiring manager had to go to the bank. There was food all over the place. I can see if it was a rush or crowded. Then food all over would be understandable but it was empty. I looked around and it didn't look like the place I would even want my daughter to have her first job at. I am teaching my daughter to be responsible and respectful and between the way this place look and them wasting our time I told my daughter to come on and leave. And the worse part is for the few minutes I was in the store checking on my daughter I come out only to see a cop giving me a ticket. Why does it feel like a set up? I dont know what the issue is with their general manager who's name is GG . Our the recent two times Ive been there she has been very vocal over portions its ridiculous Today she yelled at the cashier for apparently giving me 'too much chips' for the kids meal I got....please look at this photo... Who YELLS at their employee over chips she was really mad too. I felt sorry for the employee On a separate incident, two days ago I ordered chips and queso. I opened the queso and noticed the employee filled the queso to only half way. I told GG and she 'belligerently' (she was very annoyed) gives me a side of new queso and makes a comment that she saw the queso prior and it was 'filled up ' and I just want free queso... More folks tricked in while we sat and ate. The cheese salsa had much flavor. And the layers in my veggie bowl tasted homemade. I loved the black couch setting area. Felt VIP-ish. We played a around of "connect four" to end off. Had to minus a star as the bathroom wasn't clean. Management could've had more staff that day. So tonight is my 1st time ordering from here via postmates. Since this pandemic started I actually don't like ordering out because it seems like the restaurants I use to frequent there food quality and quantity has changed dramatically. I was told to try out Qdoba because I had 2 issues with chipotle recently. I ordered the burrito bowl which by 1st glance I was happy to see a hefty bowl, after opening my bowl and going through it with my fork I noticed the fajita peppers I added are not even sliced up just cut in all different sizes, the chicken looks old and overcooked. The taste of the cilantro rice is ok but overall this bowl is bland. The black beans for some odd reason are a little hard. Overall would I order from here again yes I would but not this same meal. Hopefully next time I'll be much more happy read more

This place used to be pretty good, but as of late, they've declined in many ways. I usually like getting either a burrito or a bowl. When I got the bowl, their portions were so much smaller than they used to be. I remember that almost a year ago they gave so much and were so generous with it. I went again just a few days ago just because of my loyalty here and thought it might be a little different this time around. I waited on line for almost 20 minutes and I got a veggie burrito with no rice. It was alright until I was eating it and I found a long silvery blonde hair in it. I was so disgusted. That was the last straw. I'm honestly not coming back here anymore. It's not even worth the money, a lot of the staff are rude, and it's just not up to my sanitary standards. This place needs to get it together operationally. Anytime i have went here for lunch something is going on and its chaos. Today one of the ladies who seems like she was the manager was yelling to get statuses from her employees while she is serving customers. There is always a delay in processing people's order. Today they ran out of bowls for the burrito bowl and served it in some other platter. There was no fajita available so i had to get my bowl without it. Also my tequila chicken was cold. I feel like i am always waiting a good amount of time in line and there is always some sort of chaos with management/employees which makes it uncomfortable for customers. The ingredients are fresh which i can see why people come and why i still go even though I don't love the food. Seating is sometimes hard to find during lunch time and there is street parking around but might be tough to find a spot. read more

Finally, after months of anticipation for the grand opening, this place opens up and I'm so thrilled. I love their chicken rice bowl. Everything is freshly made and yes, you choose your choice of white or yellow rice, chicken steak or pork, black beans and then choose unlimited mix toppings of sour cream, guac, cheese, salsa, pica de gallo, lettuce, tomatoes. They'll ask if you want any sauces on tops of it all. I didn't get all the variety sauces but it does come spicy or non spicy so make sure you ask if you want some. Their meals does not come with a drink. It's extra. They do catering services. You can register for free Qdoba club online for coupons and promotions for future purchases. There's a few tables so if you come here during lunch hours good luck finding seats. There's a large crowd of Prudential employees or Rutgers University employees/students. This is a great location for business so I hope they don't ever close. The place is still very nice so it's nice and clean. Hope management will be able to keep with the maintenance. read more

But then again it was 3pm and no real line there so I don't know how impressive that was. They got at least 2-3 things wrong (which I of course didn't realize until after I got back to my office). Like, no pico de gallo and added random things on the side. Also, no utensils OR napkins. What kind of easy pick-up is that? I'll still come back bc it's QDOBA but ugh. This is a great place to grab delicious, freshly prepared, "fast food". Came today when they first opened and the aromas were enticing. Everything looked fresh as items were being, chopped, grilled, placed in bins and lined up for selection. A lot of yummy proteins, fibers, carbs, veggies, cheeses and salsas. I chose flour tortilla, cilantro rice, grilled steak, chipoltle cream, black beans, pico, & corn. OMG! They hooked me up. This was a mother's day gone horribly wrong. My order was placed online by my son and mother. When I picked the food up I noticed items missing and returned it. They began remaking the entree and completely tried talking over me the entire time so I couldn't specify the correct order. The manager screamed out in laughter as I walked out. I had my son on the phone earpeice because he wanted to hear me say in Spanish that is it mother's day and this is my present from my son. His father told him I will order a bunch of brownies for him and I if he gets me my favorite lunch. Sadly I was attempted to be cut off every time I spoke. The first time I ordered from here, I was really impressed with a catering order by this QDOBA. The people who delivered were professional, friendly, & set up an impressive spread and everyone Loved it!!! The second time I ordered was an epic FAIL. They were an hour late for a corporate lunch, which obviously needed to be ON TIME. The driver kept lying and saying he was near when he wasn't. When I finally received the food it was missing a dozen bottled waters that I ordered. Finally, they tried to do the right thing and credit me a discount for the inconvenience, but the problem continued when they didn't provide the updated receipt. Literally, six phone calls to get a darn receipt, ridiculous!! I still don't have the required copy. NEVER again. I ordered via DoorDash so they are partly responsible for the mess. I received my order on time, but when I got bag, the driver just handed it to me while staring at his phone. When I got it upstairs, I found that all of the nachos spilled into the bag. Both the bowl and nachos were swimming in liquid and it was basically inedible. I've never seen something this disgusting before and I hope to never again. I threw it away and went to the local bodega and got food instead. I absolutely love QDOBA! Now I'm not sure if its authentic Mexican food but its soothes my belly's soul, lol. The only thing is that I am not a fan of how the meats are seasoned so I venture towards vegetarian based dishes. My specialty is getting a naked taco salad woth both black/pinto beans, pico de gallo, tomatoes, extra hot salsa, lots of cilantro with a drop of guac and/or sour cream. Its delicious filling and decently healthy. My only issue is how slow it could be during lunch time. The line can get long but I guess that speaks for the interest in the food. Hopefully they continue working on how to reduce backlog on the line. read more

Every time I visited this Qdoba location before my last visit, I would always hear that they are out of chicken so it make me simply leave disappointed. However I was lucky enough to finally try some of their food on Thursday, 09/28. All I could say is Delicious! The burrito I had was very good and fully. I had enough that I ate half one day and ate the other half the next day. Had my parents also try some of Qdoba food and they enjoyed it. I must say it's better than Chipotle in my opinion. That one experience changed everything. Best believe I'll be back to get something different. The staff was very friendly and full of energy. I appreciate that! I used to frequent Chipotle, but ever since this QDOBA location opened near my apartment I have been coming here regularly. The restaurant is clean and staff is friendly. I love that you can literally get whatever you want as a topping without having to charge extra, like guacamole *cough cough Chipotle cough*. It's never super busy when I've gone, which is usually at night, but I've heard a lot of people come for lunch, especially students. Prices are reasonable and portions are usually enough to eat twice, though I try to eat everything at once like a fatty so it doesn't get soggy, ended up in a food coma every time. I will keep coming here into the future. read more

I normally don't review chains but Qdoba is starting to grow on me for a few reasons: 1. Free guacamole! (unlike some other places *cough cough*) 2. Good quality chicken (again as compared with the places that don't have free guac) 3. Ingredients always seem super fresh no matter what time of day you walk in 4. Fiery Habanero Salsa! This location in particular is definitely one of the nicer ones that I've been to. This probably stems from the fact that it's still new but also every time I've come here, the employees have be extraordinarily nice. Not to make unfounded generalizations but typically treatment of customers in fast food establishments is not the best so it stands out when you get great service. It's also really really clean! Qdoba is definitely where you can get the most bang for your buck in the area. Lazy staff and lack of food knowledge, this is coming from a sous chef I've been to this location multiples times 1) because it's the closet thing 2) it's more options then chipotle ; but every time they are always out of something . Your staff sits around or kneels down in the back or is constantly on their phone . Apparently it does not bother the owner that this is such a laid back location . You have an open kitchen , the least you can do is keep it clean and keep you staff from looking unprofessional Last but certainly not least , do some proper training . The new person horrible rolled my burritos which both fell apart, also her knowledge of items and what can and cannot be done is non existent. The manager is loud and extremely rude and I shouldn't be able to hear their conversations . After several attempts to rectify a continued problem from their Newark location on Halsey St. where the supposed manager blasted me with racial slurs over the phone after they messed up my order (AGAIN!) I have yet to hear back from anyone about any resolution aside from offering a discount on my next order. My question being are you dense, brain damaged, or just plain stupid? Why after so many mismanaged instances and being insulted as a customer and tossed aside from the alleged "customer service rep" would I continue to be a patron? The food is great but the service all around is pure unadulterated hot garbage on a Summer's day during a heatwave: complete an utter bullsh!t. No way would I ever throw my money away on such a place just to robbed AGAIN and insulted and have no resolution. I whole heartedly discourage anyone and everyone from this establishment. Worst service ever! Ordered through UberEats and they messed up my order WITH the order receipt taped on the actual order. How do you get the order wrong and tape the receipt ON the actual order?
