Stopped by Q-River Grille for the first time on a Sunday evening for a friend's birthday brunch. It was a cold and rainy day so that didn't bode well for patrons but we made it work. There is limited parking but luckily, I was staying next door so I walked over. The venue is relatively decent and somewhat spacious. There's the indoor area with booth and table seating, an outdoor patio with a bar and a covered outdoor patio as well. I can imagine the space being super cute in the summer but not on this day. The weather was not great. I didn't try the food or drinks but my friends did and they seemed to enjoy it. It's nice to have a brunch spot that's not downtown New Haven. read more

Zero stars. TRIED to go to lunch today. Had the whole family in the car, traveled all the way there got there at 1130 the time THEY CLAIMED THEY WOULD BE OPEN .CLOSED , CLOSED CLOSED no answer on the phone, no sign, nothing. Do not chose here to go it's a crap shoot if and when they decide to open. read more

This place right here is it. One of the owners Chris went above and beyond to make my wedding a very special day. Everything came out. The staff was very polite professional and attentive. The hostess and the bartender made a great team your communicated well between each other on our needs. Another worker Odell noticed a slight change in me due to an incident not pertaining to the wedding said some kind words and kept me grounded and focused. Which I am truly grateful to him for that. Now as far as the event room itself and the food. The space was very clean and spacious I had to use of the party room and the patio also the grounds outside of the patio. As for the food Chris went out of his way to have specially ordered menu items. The appetizers and the meal were prepared and set out in a timely fashion. The food was delicious. My guests were happy and satisfied. We will be returning to this establishment in the near future. read more

If you are looking for a place to meet for a drink at happy hour and hang for an hour, this is perfect. The happy hour drinks well match the price and if the deck is open - enjoy. The food, no so good. I've tried on several occasions but they continue to miss the mark serving dishes with NO flavor. The Cajun Chicken Penne was flat - no kick whatsoever. The grilled Salmon was dry. The sliders were lost in the buns which were over toasted (hard). I was really looking for a good neighborhood place to chill but NOT at Q River. read more

Great spot! Pros: - Prices are super reasonable, especially during the happy hour (T-F 3-6pm) when apps are $9 - Food is high quality, came out in a reasonable time, and good portions - Service is great, very homey, our waitress treated us like old friends and had us laughing - Ambiance is good with great location riverside and outdoor seating to appreciate the view Cons: - Only complaint is that the DJ had the music way too loud, we could barely hear ourselves speak - Lots of bugs outside, had to sit inside despite the nice weather because of how bad the gnats were. We are dropping our daughter off to college so after a long day of travel from CA, finding an Airbnb in the dark and settling in, it was time for dinner. Late Sunday night didn't have a lot of offerings but we were so happy to find Q River Grille open and ready to take care of us. The owner greeted us warmly and seated us right away. Dee was our server and she could not have been better. She was attentive and friendly but gentle with obviously weary travelers. The food was just the comfort you need. A great steak, fantastic fish tacos, a steak and cheese on a hoagie and a little cheesecake to share. Plus two, maybe three of the tastiest margaritas. They are new in town so if you need a great spot with something for everyone, this is it. We will be back before our trip is over! read more

We decided to go out for happy hour and heard great reviews of this place from so many people . We arrived around 6:15pm and unfortunately missed the happy hour which we learned is from 3-6pm. Nonetheless we decided to stay. I had a margarita which was good and a shrimp po boy. I devoured my po boy and drink I didn't even get a picture. It was delicious the shrimp were more than jumbo and succulent. Our Waiter went above and beyond for my request. I wish I remembered his name. It's nice to see the business employ young people and give them an opportunity. I will definitely be back. read more

Loved it on a lovely Saturday afternoon. We sat outside but looked like indoors would have been just as good. The food and drinks were fantastic, and the service was exceptional. All of the staff were very attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

The atmosphere is calm and cozy and the waitstaff are kind and attentive. The food is ok - skip the lobster roll - too tough and not enough butter. The coconut shrimp were delicious. read more

Had a nice lunch overlooking the Quinnipiac River today. While the Oyster Boats dredged fresh oysters a local fisherman reeled in a Striped Bass. Great day to be on the deck. Food and drink were great as well- read more

View out in patio is great , been a few times , since the business opened i do feel like service is very slow & you're waiting around 20 , 30 minutes before you can even get a drink , great addition to neighborhood, definitely attention to customers gotta be improved , one time we ended up walking out because we just could not get a waiter to come over. Love the atmosphere and location on the River. 2nd weekend went for brunch. Still no Lobster Benedict, last week got the breakfast pizza, it was outstanding. Got breakfast sliders today, a little disappointing. Karaoke Wednesdays are fun, they tolerated my awful singing.(Maybe that's why the sliders weren't good lol).
