You know a lot of times I try to give a business the benefit of the doubt, but so many things went wrong, so I feel the need to really explain why this is not a business to visit. First off, I couldn't even explain to the lady what I wanted because she didn't know one word in English. The entire time she was basically using sign language to tell me to lift my leg when she was ready to put cream on it or she needed me to put my foot back in the water. It was just very difficult and not relaxing. I felt like when she was putting nail polish on she on purpose was not doing it far enough close to the cuticle because she wanted it to grow out quickly. Two days after my session, my nail polish is fading. It's not the crisp pink color I chose. You can also see areas where she did not put enough nail polish. My mom, who is sitting next to me, noticed hers didn't have enough nail polish, and when she asked the gentleman to put more, some lady nearby told her that's just "her nail". We looked at each other like do we look dumb to you? My mom's nails have no dark coloring or black streaks or anything of that sort to justify why you could see weird lines on her big toe. So the guy put more nail polish and what do you know, it solved the problem. These people are a ripoff, not skilled, can't communicate in English, and instead of trying to resolve an issue, they put blame on the person's nails. Definitely not coming back ever again and I don't recommend anyone to visit them either. read more

Let me just say, I go to a lot of nail salons around the country and this one felt special, the staff was incredibly kind and good conversationalist. I haven't been here since the change of Ownership . Went in and all the staff members are new too. I was helped by a gentleman called Dick, very pleasant and kind person. Didn't understand English , but tired his best to answer my questions. I requested a pedicure, as I was going to have a massage on my feet after this, but Mr Dick was so good that I didn't need to go to a feet massage. The place is kept clean, same as before and the people are friendly too . I Will sure come back . read more

Trinity and her husband are absolutely awesome. I got SNS with a design on each finger, as well as a gel pedicure. Very fast, very attentive. They were so kind and so helpful when I had a question. Already had 1 bad experience at this nail salon in the past, but I decided to give them another shot yesterday because of convenience but should not have. The lady who was doing my nails knicked my cuticle multiple times on the first try on my nails. Then, she had to redo 5 of my fingers because the polish kept discoloring when she would try and seal it with her top coat. She blamed ME for choosing a "galaxy" brand dip color even through that brand was 1/3 of the color choices they offer for dip. To me, it sounds like your nail salon either 1) doesn't know how to do nails or 2) buys cheap product. She had to redo my thumb 3-4 times and it still looks awful and hurts because she laid the dip on top of my cuticle and now it is digging into my skin. My nails are also all different types of thickness now from all her mistakes she tried to redo so many times. Not to mention the TIME this all took. Thinking of breaking off the nails and going to get them redone at The Nail Bar in Hoover which is MUCH more superior of a nail salon. Very disappointed. read more

Been going here with my Dad for years but most recent visit was a disaster! His big toe was cut bled forever staff all seemed so flustered no consistency with customer, I have multiple cuts on cuticles very sore and nothing but nails hurriedly painted and not well at all. Store very dirty at tables for nails all dirty around them for and splashed dirt on tables no massages , no hot towels on legs just rushed poor service. It's gotta be clean (check). It's gotta be friendly (check). It's gotta be quick (check). It's gotta be priced right (check). Clean is important - There is nothing more disgusting than having someone cutting your cuticles who has dirt under their nails. YUCK. Not at Q-Nails. This place is very clean and always upgrading their equipment and facility. Gotta be friendly - I go to get my nails done to R E L A X! There is nothing more unnerving than having your nail tech speak a different language and laugh. Now -- not sayin' they are laughing at me, but ... just sayin', ya know? Everyone speaks very good English at Q Nails and they are conversational when they sense I want to talk and are totally fine saying nothing when I want to chill. I'd been in only 2 times before the owner already knew my name and said hello to me outside the salon once. FAST SERVICE is important too - I don't sit still very well. I especially don't sit still when someone is touching me (wait ... whaaa?). I am happy that I get in and out of there quickly, but they spend the perfect amount of time massaging my footsies! Q Nails is definitely fairly priced. There are 8 places to have my nails done within about 5 miles of my home. Each one of them more expensive than the next and the service can be a little sketch sometimes. Q-Nails is fairly prices. This was my go to nail salon 2011-2012. After the move back to Bham, my nails were in desperate need of some pampering, so why would I go anywhere else, right?! Well, the owners were still the same (and I recognized a few other faces), but the quality had gone down since I visited last. Not much time spent massaging my legs or arms... Less than 20 seconds per leg... I counted! I got home and not only were my nails painted red, but so were parts of toes! I could have done the same thing at home and saved 40 bucks! read more

I was the first one in the salon at 9am. I needed a fill in with gel polish. The guy in charge (not sure what his name is) completely rushed through, even though no one else was in there or waiting, and he did a horrible job. All of the nails are slanted and completely uneven and he only did one coat of WHITE nail polish. It cost me $35 for a crappy fill in. I got a full set done perfectly for $35 in Crestwood. Needless to say I will not be coming back to Q nails. read more

Zero stars! Not a pleasant experience. The employees were arguing with one another. No one smiled or even said hello. A younger guy did the pedi. He was arguing with his mother. He seemed like a nice kid, but said he was forced to work there. His fingernails were long & uncomfortable when he did the leg massage. The polish was sloppy & I can do a better job myself. I was uncomfortable with the arguing. The worst part...I got a nail fungus!! read more
