I've been coming to Q nails since about 2008. There isn't much to say.... they're consistently good with pedicures and eyebrow waxes. They're nice and familiar with their customers, so they'll talk shit to you and make fun of your feet or whatever lol. If you're self conscious about stuff like that or can't dish out the shit-talking right back to them, this isn't the place for you. I like it here though. I've tried other places and for some reason they just don't feel right. The only thing I haven't like over the years is when I had gel nails (not the polish). Every time it was time for a French tip fill-in, it just looked a little sloppy to me. I'll stick to the pedis and eyebrow waxes. And a different kind of manicure. read more

Went in one a rainy Wednesday for a well over due fill. Decided to try this place after reading reviews on here and it was only 5 minutes away. Sat down right away and got a whole new set in less then an hour (with careful and almost painless removal, which if you get acrylics you know many places just pop them off and don't worry about it you're in pain). I am happy with the quality, no lifting yet and the polish is holding up. Best part was how cheap it was. Will be going back regularly and often. read more

You will see and hear a bevy of interesting characters from the customers to the nail techs (again it's in the west end). No plush chairs and complimentary glasses of champagne here. Come get your nails done and a few laughs, depending on your sense of humor. Didn't get my nail tech's name but he's talented and can be funny when in a good mood. This place does not do quality work. I asked the nail tech to clean up my cuticles, as you can see she didn't listen. I also asked that she clean up the polish that she got on my cuticles while painting. She tried, but she did not have the small thin brush. The paint job was sloppy and another nearby nail tech was very sarcastic as I was asking questions and trying to decide what I wanted done. Take your money elsewhere. read more

Yes! The first couple times i went ..beautiful. Then i started to notice how hey changed prices everyday and gave you a number off the top of they head for anything they do! The only thing that stays consistent is pedicures because i mean it's only so much you can rip someone off before they notice! I got a fill in Saturday my nails broke not even 24 hours later i went back and they were completely nasty to me and made me pay to get them redone. Only to come home for more to break! They are CHEAP, RIPOFFS and scam artist! The guy shaved my nails so then they looked like duck lips because they use little to no acrylic and sand them repeatedly. I can't even move my pillow without a freaking nail breaking! It's in the dirty ass westend so what should i expect anyway! read more

I've been coming here since my Freshman year at Spelman, 2006. It's your normal small shopping center nail shop, nothing particularly special about the salon. What keeps me coming back is the eyebrow lady! She does an excellent job! The only person in the city that I'll let touch my eyebrows. She takes her time and shapes my eyebrows with wax, razor, and tweezers. As for the service, a couple of the guys are often very short and rude. There's always a line of 5-7 people when they open at 10 on Saturday mornings and they are NEVER on time. Early? Forget it. If the eyebrow lady wasn't there I'd never come back. My roommate in college suggested this place. I love the attention to detail art work. Although its in a very hood area, the price is exceptionally cheap. They do great eye brows and art work. Don't try to go during Fridays or Saturdays because they are mad BUSY! It is a very small shop but you will be in and out of there in no time. So I'm just leaving Q Nails and I ENJOYED it! Lisa did my deluxe pedicure and it was aaaaaaaaamazzzzzzzzzinggggggggg! She took her time on every part of the pedicure and was very friendly and helpful. The price wasn't bad either. I observed a lot of designs on the fake hands that looked really great as well. I NO DOUBT will be back here..wish the place was a tad bigger because im sure they get really busy at times but thankfully i came in at a really good time. Yay! read more

I absolutely love this nail shop.. I have been going for a long time. The issue I have is that I wish the place was larger. The employees are the best They know how to keep customers to come back. Q nails have a large variety of OPI polish for all the opi fans. Which is also why I love them. They are friendly and when ever I go In they remember each and every one of their customers. The went to this shop for gel polish and mani on my lunch break and was able to get in and out in a reasonable time. The service is lacking in regards to friendliness and being personable. My tech was quiet and when he did speak, it was borderline slick(nice/nasty). Overall, my nails looked nice which is most important to me and the price is average. Just a heads up - the shop itself is very small, so I would suggest going in non peak times. Also, be prepared to pay before your nails are completed. I"m NEVER on this side of town, and its not my usual spot, either, but I was in a hurry and had to get a pedicure before picking some friends up from the airport. I came in and sat down-- the place was OK as far as cleanliness, and there were ALOT of "strong personalities" walking around there picking nail colors. I was comfortable because I didn't say much. I would've gave them a negative star !!!! If you got to the AUC DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON !!! There are better ones and they are just as close . This is the absolute worst nail salon i have EVER been to. I used to come here for a full set freshman year of college because it's right by Spelman, but I will never go again after this experience. I came in here two days ago to get an eyebrow waxing and I ended up getting an eyebrow wax and my lip waxed because they charge $1 for charges less than $10. (Also for just a wax, I was waiting for 25 minutes while she did two other people's eyebrows) Anyways I got my lip waxed and while the lady was doing it, i felt it hotter than usual on my actual lip part and when i got home the left side of my lip was raised and now it's has started blistering. I came in today an asked to speak with a manager or owner and the guy was rude and short with me trying to force me to tell him the situation. I am a dedicated customer at Qnails. I love my tech. Tony. From the first time I entered the shop 3 years ago he is the only person that can do my nails the way I like. Everyone else is good but I like his detail work. I really like the artwork that I get after a great Pedi. I ve even been given great suggestion on how to keep my feet soft. Their prices are really good, for the great work they do. Even though they are in the so called hood, the customer service is great. I would suggest you go during the week because the weekends they are packed. I always feel welcome plus I like to go place where my business is appreciated. Reading all the great reviews I decided to try this place. Unfortunately my experience did not go as well as the other reviewers. The guy who did my nails wanted to do them the way he wanted to, not how I wanted him too. He was soooo rude to me. I asked him if he was rushing and he immediately snapped saying I didn't know what shape I wanted (this was after I payed and nails were almost done being polished and shape was already how I wanted it) or what polish I wanted and I was wasting his time. I didn't do or say anything out of the norm, he also told me I was picky because I wanted red polish instead of the burgundy polish he thought I should wear. He then told me I was a waste of his time.. After I had already payed. Everyone who heard him looked astonished at how unfairly rude he was being when I was nothing but nice and understanding at the fact he wasn't as skilled as the other technicians. The lady who did my pedicure was the sweetest though, if it wasn't for her I'd give them 0 stars! (If that were possible) ... Wish I could go back and try someone else but I can't bare to even see his face again, he was extremely disrespectful to me in front of other customers. I wish I listened to the reviews. They were trying to let me leave with uneven nails and horrible looking lashes!!! And the reviews regarding customer service was true! When I attempted to let Neal (nails) and Kim (lashes) know, they both became unreasonably angry and then pretended not to notice it. It was so bad that the customer next to me--that I didn't even know had to get involved. Neal is arrogant, rude, and completely incompetent. Kim is rude and unprofessional. She actually knocked my hand out of the way! I'm in utter shock! I went to Nails Etc., around the corner and they were professional, polite, and grateful. This place is excellent. It's a bit on the small side, but they have some of the best nail techs in Atlanta. I'm currently getting an extended foot massage and it's one of the best that I've had in a while. The guys that work here speak English (and slang) very well so there's no barrier.
