Good - but room for improvement Most of the plates were good, some adjustments to the flavors could be made. Similarly, the service/presentation could be improved. The whole Peking Duck plate was just dropped on our table. The room is large and comfortable.

I don't know why this restaurant doesn't have a higher rating on Yelp but I thought this was the best dim sum I've had in a long time and not just in the DMV. I went on a Saturday when they opened for AYCE dim sum at 11am and we were seated immediately. The ambiance was nice and service was very quick, unlike a lot of other AYCE locations with a time limit. For the food itself, we ordered a ton of items - my favorite of which were their har gow and the pineapple buns. A lot of dim sum places skimp on the amount of shrimp actually inside the skin but these had very large portions of shrimp and the texture of the exterior was perfect. The pineapple buns were filled nicely and were delicious. They did most of their items pretty well, although I thought the weakest was the guo bao, which was too much bun compared to the amount of meat. While not bad, I was also expecting more of the puff pancake, which is one of their most popular items also offered at dinner. Overall I was pretty impressed by their AYCE dim sum which wasn't even super expensive compared to other food prices in the area. Definitely recommend and will be returning to try their regular dinner.

The food here was great. I really liked the scallion bubble pancake. It was crispy and chewy in a good way and the sauce it came with was yummy. The soup dumplings were good and the Peking duck was delicious. The old fashioned cocktail was also great. The restaurant had a nice, elegant ambiance.

Wonderful place for all you can eat dim sum. The cocktail & mocktail menu was surprisingly creative, and the drinks were delicious. The service here is excellent, all of our servers were attentive and friendly. Fun meal with friends and family.

Food, service, and ambiance were all amazing every time I go. Not sure why this place has less than 4 stars. Maybe people just need the right guide? Give it a try and see for yourself!

Incredible service from start to finish. Every dish we got was great. Our favorite was the bubble pancake (seen here). I love Peter Chang restaurants. Cool decorations!

Highly recommend their dim sum (weekends from 11am-3pm) which is one of the best I've had in the DMV area. In addition to SiChuan, they have delicious WuHan cuisine too. This is where the Chinese community and locals go. They have a big, modern interior with lots of tables, booths, and high ceilings. My favorites dim sum dishes that I tried were the Creamy Egg Yolk Baked Bun, Mi Jiu Tang (mochi ball soup), and Stir-Fried Rice Noodles with Beef. However I found all of their dishes to be tasty. If you're looking to try some WuHan classics, try the Dou Pi and Zha Jiang Mian. I enjoyed the dim sum at Q by Peter Chang better than the mass produced dim sum cart restaurants in Northern Virginia. Within the DMV, the best Chinese food is in Maryland (Rockville/Bethesda). The servers were good and they checked on us many times to ask if we would like to put in any additional orders since we got their all you can eat special. Then they bring it out to you when the dishes are ready to make for a more elegant dining experience.

We stopped by Q this past Saturday evening to celebrate our friend's birthday since we heard the duck here was the best in the DMV. The service was quick and attentive -- our server made sure we always had enough water. Food came out pretty quickly, too. SCALLION BUBBLE PANCAKE (葱油泡饼) - 6 The pancake was a huge bubble that had to be popped in order to be eaten. It was pretty thin with a chewier texture. The flavor reminded me of the colorful shrimp chips that you sometimes on Chinese dishes. Not a lot of scallions, though. Just a lot of pan-fried batter. The curry sauce on the side was pretty watery. I could have gone without it. CHANG'S PEKING DUCK WHOLE (北京烤鸭 - 全只) - 80 This is definitely what they're known for here. If you're down to splurge on a tasty duck, I'd recommend. A whole duck is a lot smaller than I thought, but the portion was plenty for the four of us. Each order comes with the duck, two sauces (hoisin sauce and this really watery beet sauce?), toppings like cucumbers and scallion whites and a steamer basket filled with crepe skin. The crepe skin was thin and chewy, and the duck wraps were delightful. The duck skin was thin and flavorful, almost like eating chips. The duck meat was perfectly cooked. I can see why this is one of the best ducks in the area. SNOW PEA TIPS W/ MINCED GARLIC (蒜蓉豆苗) - 26 There wasn't a big portion of snow peas, but it was well cooked and seasoned with lots of garlic. The texture of the snow peas were perfectly crunchy. I would definitely recommend this, but unsure if it's worth it for the price point. BEEF STIR FRIED WIDE NOODLE (牛炒河粉) - 19 Out of everything we ordered, this was probably the most disappointing. I feel like I can get stir fried wide noodles at basically any Chinese restaurant, and there was nothing special about the one here. I thought the flavor was pretty bland. There was a good amount of beef in each portion, but the overall portion size was small for the price. I wouldn't recommend this here. Overall, the food was quite good but expensive. If you want to splurge on a nice Chinese meal, particularly the duck, I'd recommend Q.

It's supposed to be chicken fried rice. So so gross.

This was absolutely disgusting. It's supposed to be chicken fried rice. Will never go there again.

Q started its AYCE dim sums on the weekend. It's $28 for adults and half price for kids aged 5-12. Kids under five eat for free! The dim sum menu had 35 items. Our party of six adults and four toddlers must have ate at least twenty different dim sum dishes. We thought the taste was, in general, pretty good. The price was amazing for what's given. Some dishes were better obviously. Here were some of our favorite dishes: #27 stir fried wide noodles with beef. The dish can easily be ruined with too much oil. But Q delivered with a manageable amount of oil. #1 soup pork dumplings. We all thought this was really good. The soup inside the bun mixed really well with the filling. #21 roast duck sandwich was special. It was a pineapple inspired bun with a slice of roasted duck inside. Every bite was a mix of the sweet and the savory. #13 triple layered doupi (bean curd skin). It's hard to describe this dish. It was just really good! Basically, there were rice and smoked meat beneath the bean curd skin. #35 pumpkin fritters. This was essentially pumpkin fries! It was great! The service was super slow. However, we will still go back for the weekend dim sum AYCE!

I signed up for this dumpling making class with a friend and was extremely excited to meet Peter Chang. Is there anything better than learning how to make dumplings from one of the experts? Yes, it would be actually making dumplings with one of the experts. I and other's were a little upset to find out he did not show. Seeing that's the only reason why a lot of us signed up for the class because since it was stated he himself was going to be there. I even double checked the event details. First let down. We arrived early prior to the class and enjoyed some eats. This was the best part! I tried the flounder fish sour cabbage soup and is more on my must have list! I ended up visiting two other locations within that week and ordered it again because it was that good! Another honorable mention is the beef wide noodle. My friend ordered it and don't know if it was because it was someone else's food it was amazingly good or it was just great! I tried to figure that out but the other locations Columbia & Baltimore do not have it on their menu and none suggested making it fit me either. Go figure. . . Lol You know those dishes you order whenever you're close to that location, yup another one. The class wasn't arranged very well. The food we were making was left out and uncovered. People were asked to wash their hands before they were trash to cook so they became dirty again. It ended up being family style but all of the dumplings were come together so unless you designed/made/shaped/formed yours a specific way, you couldn't tell which you made. I was blessed, to have the vegetable ones and some noodles as my dish since I've taken pork out of my diet. I'd go back for the dishes I mentioned but not for the class.

We stopped by Q for a birthday dinner and were surprised by how good the dishes were. My favorite was the Sweet & Sour Branzino - unbelievably prepared so that you can pick up little cubes of perfectly cooked fish with chopsticks. Thumbs up for the Peking Duck and the Seafood with Crispy Rice. Amazing. And the Golden Buns and Mango Pomelo Tapioca were perfect desserts to finish things off. Fun and adventurous, this is not your typical Chinese restaurant. The dishes are unique and inventive, and just plain delicious. Definitely worth trying, for a celebration or just to stop in and have a fun meal.

Boy, does she look beautiful now!!! Last time I reviewed this restaurant, I was underwhelmed by the dining room. It was generic, dated and - my main memory - the floor was greasy and slippery. Now, the renovations show a beautiful new restaurant with high end finishes and fancy decor. Whoever redecorated this place did a fabulous job! So, I take back my old review and state very clearly that Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda is stunning, first rate and very high end looking. The food was very good. We started with escargot and mussels. The mussels were a bit bland in my opinion. Yes, there was garlic, yes, there was onion, yes there was wine but the overall flavor was just sort of mediocre. The escargot, on the other hand, were beautifully cooked, prepared and seasoned. The garlic and other seasonings turned what is really just a garden pest into delightful little bite of intense flavor. I loved them! For our main courses, 3 of us got beef. Of course, it was well prepared. The French fries were crisp, hot and lightly salted. I did not want to share them. My zero-proof drink was lovely! I had the grapefruit cooler and it was a perfect balance of tart, sweet and bubbly. This place paid a lot of attention to a non-alcoholic beverage. That says a lot to me!!! The service was not up to the beautiful appearance of the dining room. We had spotty attention and a lack of focus from our waiter. At the end of the evening, they really rushed us out. But, overall, I am impressed with what has happened at Mon Ami Gabi. Will I be back? Oh yes! Do I recommend it? Definitely!

A large wine list that they know back to front and can recommend wines from based on your food choices and personal tastes. An elegant but not ostentatious interior. But first and foremost, incredible food. There have been a few items I was unsure of when reading the descriptions, but I have always been blown away by the thoughtfulness and balance that comes with each or their dishes. Of note, their seared scallops that came with a savory and sweet white chocolate sauce were one of my favorite dishes of 2025. Not to mention, the prices here are reasonable and not unnecessarily inflated like other places that market themselves as wine bars. I hope the success here signals a shift in the wine bar model toward unpretentious but thoughtfully designed dishes for a reasonable price. Overall, Little Blackbird is an incredible restaurant that I think deserves more recognition. I will certainly be back soon.

I was waiting for my friend to arrive and countless times the staff walked past me without a word or a glance: no greeting, no invitation to see myself, not even asking if I needed help...nothing. Just incredibly unwelcoming. If I hadn't made such a significant time investment trying to secure a parking space, I would have left immediately. After my friend arrived, we flagged down one of the servers who told us that we could seat ourselves outside. We did so and ordered a round of cocktails: an Aperol Spritz for me and Air Mail for my friend, along with a charcuterie board. The seating outside was picnic benches with chipped paint. Our charcuterie board arrived long before our drinks did. We were half done with the board by the time the drinks arrived. The charcuterie board was delivered with no plates and only one napkin for two people. Additionally, because there were no plates, a significant amount of our charcuterie board ended up on the picnic table. The board had lots of items on it and it was very difficult to remove an item or slice some cheese without something else sliding off. The cocktails were decent. Not the best we've had, but also not the worst. They were inconsistent though. The first two I had were much better than the last one, which tasted distinctly different. When we decided to get food, I ordered the chicken schnitzel sandwich while my friend got the Cubano sandwich. In most places, when you order a sandwich, fries are included. Not here. But at least my sandwich was served on an aluminum tray. My friend received her sandwich wrapped in paper. No plate; Just wrapped up like it was to-go. Since no fries were included with her sandwich she ordered a side of the chili cheese fries instead. She ate a few of them but I could tell by her face (and the fact that the bowl remained largely untouched after those few initial fries) that they were not good. My sandwich was okay. Just ok. It arrived warm, not hot, so I'm not sure if it was freshly made. Flavor-wise it was a little bland. I think it probably would have been better served just as schnitzel and not as a sandwich. For dessert, I ordered one of their oversized chocolate chip cookies. Again, it was just not good. Chocolate chip cookies are fairly hard to mess up but this one was just... Bad. It had more of a cake-like consistency... And not even very good cake. I took one bite and that was one too many. Between the difficulty finding parking, the general aloofness of the staff, and the terrible food... I'd recommend passing on this place.
