Worse than "not good".
The woman who owns this shop has no regard for her customers or for appropriate customer service. There are so many other small stores exactly like this one which deserve your business but this store DOES NOT DESERVE ANYONE's BUSINESS.
My daughter received a gift for her 2 year old son which was purchased from this store. I went in to return it. The boy working refused to take it back or issue a store credit, even though he admitted it was from this store, the packaging was original and undisturbed and it was even in the original store bag, because I did not have a gift receipt ( the purchaser did not include one) and I didn't have the credit card it was purchased on. Of course, how could I have someone else's credit card as it was a gift.
This boy could not get in touch with anyone to authorize a store credit and he admittedly did not know what to do. He told me someone would be calling me but he had no idea when.
I was very frustrated as the resolution of the unwanted items was now causing me to have to do way more than should be necessary in a store that I had thought would act in a reputable manner.
About a week or so later I received a telephone call from a woman who identified herself as the owner of the store.
She called to let me know I upset her employee by my frustration at him not having any idea on how to handle this simple and obvious issue. She then proceeded to tell me that she knew who had purchased the gift but even so she refused to issue a store credit as her inexperienced employee had been distressed by our interaction. And now she was also distressed because I did not agree with her inappropriate ranting to try and justify this unjustifiable situation she herself created, both in leaving someone in charge of her store who had no idea what he was doing and for me not agreeing that was appropriate of her.
Further, I did not raise my voice to her employee although I did express in no uncertain terms that it was ridiculous that if he didn't know what to do, that he had nobody to call or ask. What kind of reputable store owner leaves a boy in her store with no knowledge and no backup. That does not seem to be good business practice.
Second, it was wholly unprofessional for a store owner to call me and lecture me for an incident that she knowingly created by leaving an inexperienced boy to run her business while she was on vacation.
As a customer, all I want is to be treated fairly and with respect and the owner of this store is obviously incapable Of either. Who calls a customer and says I could take back the item you are seeking to return but I am not going to. Is she trying to hurt me? Is she trying to punish me for her inability to provide appropriate customer service? Is my frustration at not being able to do what I came into her store to do reason enough to call me and taunt me a week or so later only to admit that a reasonable person in her business would issue a store credit, but she just isn't going to.
There are ALOT of stores out there and a small business like this which normally has a hard time surviving in this economy should be mindful, in my opinion, not to throw away a customer who has purchased things in this store before, and would have continued to do so, absent this unfortunate incident and this less than gracious store owner.
I will never shop there again as my money is limited and why would I or anyone support a store where the owner has no regard for its customers.
It is for this reason I am posting this review, something I have never done before. read more
