Al Pastor
Devon K.

This is my new favorite taco spot in DC! Went here as part of a taco crawl and I tried the Al pastor taco - the pork was crunchy, fresh, and incredibly delicious. It was cooked to order on a busy Friday night so the food took awhile, but well worth the wait! Tacos are a little pricy at $5.50 each, but they do offer combo deals. Space is small but they also have outdoor seating available. I will come back and try the birria tacos next time!

I had a good experience at PX Tacos before and thought I would try it again before leaving a review and I'm glad I did! We ordered the pork belly nachos bc they were delicious before but this time it was a NO GO! First of all it was basically just sour cream and cheese thrown in the order with the tortilla chips. Barely any of the other toppings. Additionally in order double the meat because, why not? The order barely came with enough meat for 1 serving. Maybe 3 pieces of cut pork belly. Now here is the kicker which is why I opted to give it 1 star... the pork belly was bad...spoiled...not fresh! We eat pork belly in our house a lot and I know when meat is not good and this had the sour "I'm probably expired" taste to it. We just opted to toss it. It wasn't worth the risk for me. Very disappointing considering I did have a good experience prior and thoroughly enjoyed the food then.

The best breakfast burrito in DC, by an order of magnitude. The Al pastor is also fantastic. Give this place a try - you won't regret it.

The images are from two different days... maybe one week from each other. Y'all I think I found the BEST tacos in DC. The food is SOO good that I had to come back a few days later and bring my sister. The restaurant is small but there is seating for about 8 people. The customer service was really good both times I went. The staff was pretty helpful when recommending options and very patient and kind. I would always come back here. The Carne Asada (steak) tacos and the El pastor is AMAZING! The burritos are BIG and so good as well. My friend has the fish tacos and she loved them. 20/10 I do recommend!

Pintxo's was such a delightful discovery! I was hanging at my friend's house with a few others when she thought it would be a good idea to order some food. She mentioned there was a great taco spot just down the street that got the best Yelp reviews so I was immediately intrigued. Since we were ordering for a group, we mostly ordered items easy to share - tacos, nachos and a quesadilla. I wasn't too hungry, but once I realized that the food looked really good (and the order pretty plentiful) I went ahead and tried a fish taco which was absolutely delicious! It's hard to eat, socialize and pay close attention while posting Jenga but it was the flavorful droppings, and delicious fried fish that really did it for me. The nachos were not really my thing but the order had to be modified in a way to serve the group in ways that would not be my ideal order. But even still, everything was really good and I heard no complaints from a fairly particular group. Also, the women working that night were so sweet and warm which is always another good sign. I look forward to ordering from here again in the future!

I was told to try the birria tacos here by a few HU students. The staff were kind and friendly. The restaurant was clean inside and outside. But the chicken birria tacos were underwhelming. EVERYTHING lacked flavor. I was literally just eating wet tasteless tacos. I will be returning to give them another try to see if they were just having a bad day.

The food was delicious and the service was fast and easy and the ambiance is amazing I shall return to try other dishes

Smallest burrito I've ever had, $13? Really? Never again

I didn't know you could order half of a burrito with most of being rice. Place is truly disappointing.

It's good, simple and plain. The restaurant is clean and tidy. The color scheme is welcoming and vibrant. The staff is friendly and helpful. This place is deceptively spacious. I didn't realize there was an entire backyard patio and it took me three visits to pay attention to the fact that there's also a front patio that I bypass while being laser focused on hot fresh tacos. I'm adding this place to my neighborhood hangout spots with friends. I'm an avid people watcher so I'll be taking full advantage of these spaces this autumn as it seems the weather will never get cold again. Back to the food--I'm a simple guy; the el pastor and carné asada tacos are my favorite: simple yet delicious.

We felt welcome, people were so kind, especially the manager and our server Wyatt. We love the ambience and vibe of the restaurant. Great for date night, friends, or even family dinner with teens. Even though we were there until closing time other 11 PM. They were friendly and did not rush us at all. If you were looking for a great place to eat in Washington DC near the Penn Quarter, I highly recommend Bartaco.

The hostess greeted me and asked if I'd ever been to the restaurant before. She directed me to the back counter where I was able to review the menu and place my order. The server at this register was also very nice. I liked the texture of the rice bowls and everything was cooked well. However, the portions for everything were smaller than I expected for the price. Bartaco offers items with mushrooms, falafel, and cauliflower. However I think it would be great if they could offer something with tofu as there is not a protein option for vegans. The chips and guacamole were decent but nothing special. Interesting that the chips come as large pieces instead of as individual chips. I'd maybe stop in again if I was nearby but I'm not sure I'm eager to return.

Over the summer, there was a debut of a new Chicken taco! All the tacos are unique and tasty - Braised Mushroom with feta, Creamy Kale & Potatoes, Roasted Beets with ricotta, Roasted Eggplant, Skillet Corn and Cauliflower, Lemon Garlicky Greens, Smoky Collared Greens taco, Butternut Squash with goat cheese and caramelized onions. The only taco that I'm not a big fan of is the Scrambled Egg with Black Beans. It's very bland and the eggs are cold. The Mushroom Quesadilla that came out a couple of years ago is surprisingly filling oozing with cheese and hits the spot for only $6. The new Lunch combos is an okay deal. The Kale Salad had a spicy kick and I don't think it was worth paying an extra $7 for it when the Mushroom Quesadilla is only $6. The mild green sauce in the Black Bean Enchiladas has been replaced by the spicy red sauce. The spicy sauce is overpowering to enjoy the enchiladas and the green rice is often undercooked. There's a nice large tank of complimentary ice water instead of the faucet. The Hibiscus Tea is refreshing and sweetened with honey. The coconut Lime Aqua Fresca is refreshing as well and a nice summer mocktail. I've had the Blueberry Margharita Slushie at the Gtown location and really enjoyed it. Always excited to come back and it's become a staple of my office go-to lunch hot spots!
