This location has some prime real estate! Right on the corner in DC, very clean and spacious and lots of seating at bar and patio! The food was really good as usual! Portions and tacos are a little smaller in comparison to your average taco but I love their flavors and options. The summer duo beef taco is so delicious and the lobster is buttery. Service was exceptional. Waiter was friendly, door greeter was friendly, bartender came to double check how I'd like my drink made! Would def return!

Bar tender was great. Made great drinks and gave me a free desert. I'm not special, but they give away scratch and win cards and I won a free desert. But I was so from the food I ordered, that I will use the card to come back and get dessert! They have a special happy hour menu between 9-12pm. It is really affordable ranging from $3 to $9 per order. The lights and chattering plus drinks make it worth it to visit. Great environment for solo or groups.

If you're looking for a fantastic lunch spot, look no further than Bar Taco. This place is always a good time, with a laid-back vibe and great outdoor seating that's perfect for enjoying your meal in the fresh air. The food here is consistently delicious and easy to order, making it a breeze to grab a bite during a busy workday. The service is impressively fast, which is a huge plus when you're on a tight schedule. I particularly love their carafe of iced tea, it's the perfect refreshing drink to complement your meal. On my last visit, I decided to try the oyster tacos for the first time, and let me tell you, I fell in love. They were absolutely amazing.

Takeout order fantástico! Taco Tuesday!! I don't know how they keep their fish tacos so crispy!! Delish.

A very good experience at this Bartaco location in Mt. Vernon. The tacos are delicious and the customer service is very good. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. During the warmer months, the patio is a great option. The scene outdoors is set as this location is on the corner of a busy DC intersection. Perfect for happy hour. I wouldn't necessarily consider the tacos authentic as much as I would gourmet, however they are delicious. I do wish the tacos were larger, but I appreciate the fact the business is transparent on the menu to describe the size of the tacos being 2-3 bites per taco. For me, it is more like 2 bites. On this visit, my favorite taco was the Baja Fish; second favorite, the pork belly. Initially, I didn't know what to think of the slaw paired with the fish, but it ended up being a very good complement to the fried fish. Overall, a very good experience and I will visit again.

Was a great time overall. We came in on a Tuesday evening and sat on the patio. Very nice vibe and energy. Our server was great and knowledgeable. There were also food and drink runners so everything came out quickly. I had a Berry Colada mocktail. Tacos are small one per order. I ordered a Verde chicken and Pork Belly. They both were good, but the Pork Belly has a sweet sauce that was delicious! Got a beef rice bowl that was also good and a small portion. Street corn and Plantain for sides. Lastly, churros for the win! Overall a great experience.

This place is solid! Good food, drinks, vibes. They have wonderful people serving and bartending. Very friendly and informative. I really like this place. It is a chain and one been to a Virginia location, but I like this location better. We love the "old thymer" cocktail (bourbon). Love the plantains. Great tacos and chips and salsa! We've visited twice now and I'm sure we'll back soon.

Everything here was great. I was invited by a friend and we ordered lots of items to try. The service was great, everyone was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was cute and rustic. The best items we had were the pork belly tacos and duck birria. Will definitely return!

    Tuna Tatako Tacos

Very innovative options, especially the tuna tatako tacos where the items were wrapped in a piece of lettuce instead of a traditional tortilla, which I actually thought was a very good idea because instead of absorbing the tuna flavor like a tortilla would have, the lettuce separated the tuna flavor from itself, reducing the impact of strong fish flavor and making the taco taste more neutrally friendly. The spicy chicken verde tacos were like the most traditional tacos with cilantro, white onion, and lime, and tasted like what I had expected. The crispy shrimp tacos, interesting enough, had cabbage slaw on it, which tasted a bit bland, and had to use the sauce on the side to make it better. The mushroom tacos tasted good with roasted poblano chile sauce on it, along with queso fresco cheese bits. That one was my friend's favorite, and my second favorite. Since my friends and I did take out on this one, we didn't have the dine in experience, but I walked past the establishment and it looked pretty fancy inside. Hopefully one day I can give it a try dining in!

Been to a few Bartaco locations and the consistency is there with the food and drinks. They also have the most efficient ordering system which I feel more places should adapt - you order everything directly from your phone and each member of your party can have their own bill with no problems. And your order comes out within a few minutes! While I think the drinks could be stronger, they are very delicious. This was probably the best Ranch Water I've had anywhere. The chile lime shrimp taco was way spicier than I thought it'd be (I have a very low spice tolerance) but otherwise it was cooked well. This location had a pineapple taco special that was superrrrr good, I should've ordered more of just these. The smaller kale salad was good but could've done with more dressing - same for the tuna salad. The tres leches tasted like a refrigerator at the top but the bottom half was okay but didn't give me real tres leches feels. You really can't go wrong if you want something quick and casual but still get a good dine in experience.

Bartaco is always upbeat, fun and super chill at the same time even as summer came to an end. The cocktails were very refreshing. The Ranch Water was strong and tart. The Lunch Rice Bowl Tray with the choice of soup and rice bowl. The tray included a Spiced Chicken Verde Bowl that was very well seasoned and mildly spicy with fresh crunchy peppers. The Warm Buttered Lobster Taco was buttery, meaty and easily consumed in a single bite. The chicken soup and its unexpected, yet pleasant spiciness. Both managers were hospitable, friendly, and could be seen interacting with other guests and servers all over the restaurant.

The tacos here are fine. They're advertised as "street tacos" (aka smaller size than regular tacos); they're priced the same way that the usual tacos would cost so be prepared to pay slightly more than you would at most taco places. This place is great if you want to grab a drink and a quick snack. It's also great if you get their free taco tokens that they frequently give out as promos. But as an actual dinner spot, the prices run a bit deceptively high and I don't think it's worth it. The tacos themselves are okay - I think the tortillas are a bit on the dry side and found the lettuce wraps honestly better tasting. It's a solid amount of filing they give - they don't skimp but they also don't provide that much filling. The tacos again, are fine. They're not bad but not particularly memorable. I wouldn't recommend the chorizo - I love chorizo normally but their chorizo tacos were just a bit "meh". The fish tacos were solid - I've liked all of hte seafood tacos I've had there so I recommend ordering those. The service is excellent - every time I've been here, the waiters are super helpful, friendly, and warm. The ordering is done via QR code so it's pretty easy. The outdoor seating area (roofed) is also an excellent place to sit on a nice evening. The place itself is very friendly for a group or catching up with a friend - both the indoor and outdoor area aren't too loud and the seats very comfortable.

I am a fan!! I started with the tuna poke. This was my favorite bite of the entire meal. Came with fresh tortilla chips, the tuna was cut up in tiny bite size pieces, and the spicy poke dressing totally hit the spot. The tacos are small but still yummy. I really enjoyed the Baja fish, but I wasn't a huge fan of the chili-like shrimp. The Baja fish was following and well cooked, but the chili-lime fish was so spicy I couldn't finish the small bite and was a little too sour. I really want to come back during "high tide" aka happy hour! The prices are unbeatable and the outdoor patio seating is a vibe! On top of all of that, the staff is really nice and friendly - especially the ladies at the host stand!

We went in right as they opened, on a Friday at 5 pm, and there was already a line! The reservations were full, but we were offered a seat either at the bar or outside. Luckily it was a beautiful day so we took a seat outside. They started us off with a sweet hibiscus flavored juice as a palate cleanser which was super refreshing. The left side of the menu had appetizers and shareables, while the right side had entrees. We ordered the short rib tacos, pork belly, wagyu empanadas, and seafood enchiladas. Everything had a beautiful bright orange sauce on it and made it look like it would be spicy but it wasn't! I think it's their signature guajillo sauce and it was VERY good, super creamy. Seafood enchiladas: This was my fav. Might have been because it was extremely hungry and it was my first bite. Definitely best when eaten warm, as the cheese is gooiest and the seafood inside is hot. I wasn't sure how the salad was going to be but it added a perfect refreshing and acidity to balance out the creamy sauce. Wagyu empanadas: Much gooey-er and cheesier than expected, but also a hit! Came with a decent amount of beef inside. Comes with the orange sauce and a chimichurri, which I think was a good idea because given how cheesy and creamy the filling already was, the chimichurri was a nice balance as well. Pork belly: Melts as soon as you cut into it. The Asian in me low key wanted a giant bowl of rice with this so that I could soak up all the sauce and veggies. Pretty fatty so if you're not a fan of that you might not like this. Short rib tacos: These were loaded, not with meat but with tons of crunchy topping (maybe fried carrots?) Could have done with slightly less crunch but overall still good. The orange sauce on the bottom had a peanuty flavor which I thought added a unique kick. Also, we were surprised at how quickly the food came out. We were in and out in under an hour. Our server Rebecca was also extremely nice. Will def be back if in the area. Highly recommend all around!

We went around 11:30, so it started off pretty quiet, but as brunch picked up, it definitely got louder. The ambiance is nice though, very laid-back, chill, and a great vibe for a group brunch or celebration. We did the bottomless brunch, and one thing I really appreciated is that the bottomless food and drinks are priced separately. Not everyone in our group wanted drinks, so it was nice that we were only charged for the people who actually ordered them. The only downside is that mocktails aren't included. The food is served as small plates brought out progressively, but I do wish this had been explained better upfront. It was presented as if they would just bring items out, but it wasn't clearly communicated that we could also order anything we wanted from the menu. That made the experience feel a bit confusing. The meal started off strong. The salad was fresh, and there was a fruit/yogurt dish with agave that was honestly one of the best things we had. From there, it became hit or miss. The ceviche and chips were good, the fish tacos were solid, and I appreciated that they had some vegetarian options (though somewhat limited). The waffle and churro were highlights, but the potato hash fell flat. As the meal went on, service slowed down quite a bit. We were waiting a while for certain items (like the corn), and it felt like things just started to lag toward the end. Service overall followed a similar pattern. Strong at the beginning, but less attentive as it got busier. Overall, I'd rate it around a 7 out of 10. It's a fun spot for the experience and group setting, but the lack of clarity and inconsistency in pacing took away from it. I might consider trying it for dinner since I've heard good things, but for brunch, it's not a place I'd go out of my way to revisit.
