Was looking for something to do on a chilly night and came across Puttshake. It's definitely like no other mini golf course. You check in on an iPad and there are several game options. There are multiple courses to choose from, and you can take a mini break in between each. A game board keeps track of all the scoring so there is no tedious paper and pencil. All of the holes are so thought out and unique! The bar was great, and there are a little tables throughout. The only downside was checking in on an iPad and missing the opportunity to ask questions or get clarification. It was a little tricky how things worked and we had to ask several people while trying to get started.

Stopped here on a Friday afternoon on the way back to our hotel. With staying in the strip district right down the street from the Terminal, we had been to the Puttery across the street and not particularly liked the experience. The Puttshack was a little different: first there's room to stretch out. There is massive areas to sit and wait, to sit down and eat, a huge bar with tv's, and a variety of spaces-- not to mention 4 courses. Puttery is very tight and small. Just feels like you're a sardine there. Puttshack is more of a full experience. Would recommend.

My wife and I went on a Saturday afternoon date to Puttshack. She got me a gift card for Christmas and it seemed like a great day to use it. Everything is digital from registering to score keeping. We were able to play nine holes on the Emerald Course (I'd do 18 next time because the holes are short). It was busy with groups and couples but not overwhelmingly crowded. There is a full bar and you are able to take drinks on the course. The holes had a fun theme to them and kept you engaged. After our nine holes we sat at the bar and had a pretzel and a Octoberfest pint. Bartenders were friendly. Puttshack has different golf specials throughout the week. It was a fun way to spend some time on a Saturday afternoon. I would definitely go again.

Get it in the green for a good chance at a hole in one.

Darnell (aka Nelly) was a great host for our visit to Puttshack. He made the whole experience a pleasurable one, helping our family feel comfortable for our first time playing putt putt. Darnell was personable and kept the kids laughing. He explained the rules and we were on our way. In the end, my 15yo son said he thought it would be a terrible experience but as it turned out, he enjoyed it. The holes are challenging, but not impossible. Getting a hole in one is possible in several of the holes. One thing we really enjoyed was that the scoring is automated, so it makes for a fun and social environment. We recommend this for families and friends alike!

We were in town visiting family and checked Yelp/Groupon for fun things to do indoors near our Airbnb. We found Puttshack with a great deal and couldn't resist. We registered ahead online, so that when we arrived we could go straight in and check in. We chose one 9-hole game because there was 6 of us and we didn't want to be there all night (even though I'm sure the kids wouldn't have been bothered lol). Each hole had a challenge that was actually really fun to master. The bonus part about this place is that you don't have to keep score!! The ball has some type of tech/chip that registers when you start at each evolve and keeps track of each attempt to get the ball in the whole. I loved that part the most because with all of us, we had more time to enjoy ourselves instead of keeping track of tiny pencils and paper. We will definitely be going back the next time we're in town because we've seemed to make the area it's in one of our go to spots. *bonus is they have free coat check so you don't have to worry about keeping up with your stuff while you're moving through the course.

Puttshack is one of the most premium mini golf courses I've ever been to. I'm visiting Pittsburgh and I've heard of Puttshack before, but this just happened to be our first stop in the Strip District. It wasn't lively in the dining area when we visited (2 PM) but the mini golf courses had a good amount of people playing. Our waitress, Crystal, was the best server we could've asked for. She kept our soft drinks refilled without us having to ask, and made sure we enjoyed our food. She raved about the things we ordered and it makes sense because everything we had was flavorful. To start, we ordered Shiitake Mushroom Potstickers. The ponzu soy and peach dipping sauces were fire! It was the perfect sweet/salty combo for dipping. For my meal, I ordered the Korean BBQ Bao Buns and substituted the meat for bbq jackfruit. The bao buns were pillowy, chewy and delicious. Not spicy whatsoever if you're someone who avoids spice like me. Finally, per Crystal, the dessert was a must, specifically the Key Lime Pie. Not tarty and just enough sweetness to kill the craving. The crust was excellent. Highly recommend! Everyone working at the Puttshack was polite and friendly and willing to help. Puttshack seems like it would accommodate large groups of people, too. A wonderful place for people of any age to have fun!

The service is as great and friendly. I was there for a private party, so it wasn't too loud in the back room. The main room was very loud, but the atmosphere is great. The food and drinks were delicious and they even continued to serve drinks while we were mini golfing. The themed hikes are so much fun and there are tables around you can keep moving drinks to at each hole. Service at the bar after our party was also good. I definitely hope to go back with friends sometime.

PuttShack is a chain business that offers mini golf, foods, and drinks. Please see my attached photos for the Pittsburgh location's menus for May 2025. A couple of weeks in advance, through PuttShack's website, I purchased tickets for 4 people to each play 2 games of mini golf. The total price including tax was $118. On the website, I did not see an option for choosing the specific mini-golf courses. Days later, PuttShack emailed me to register everyone in my group. We had to register everyone's first names, last names, email addresses, phone numbers, and dates of birth, which I thought was a lot of personal information. On the day of our reservation, a Saturday afternoon, we arrived on time, and the employees assigned us to two courses that two people in our group had previously played. We would have preferred to have played the other two courses that nobody had previously played. Furthermore, an employee gave us coupons for a free game, but I had already purchased two games for each person, so we did not use the coupons. The holes consisted of creative games, and everyone in my group seemed to have fun. The courses were crowded with groups of other customers, so we had much waiting time in between holes. Friendly employees asked if we wanted to order alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. I drank one Passionfruit Lemonade mocktail and liked it.

I've come here a couple times for mini golf! It's fun. Lots of photo-worthy moments and it feels very modernized. For example at one of the holes, it's trivia meets mini golf, it asks a trivia question on the screen, you shoot the ball in the answer for extra points. It's pretty quick, we've been done a whole round in like 20 minutes as 2 people. They have drinks and food too, with plenty of options to choose from and lots of seating. Plus a bar area. We got the Thai fried chicken as our appetizer. They were pretty good! And plenty on the dish for sharing. I got the Asian beef lettuce wraps as my main. It was different than I expected, marinated pulled beef instead of ground beef like a typical Asian lettuce wrap dish. It was okay but not what I expected. I'd skip it next time and get something else. My boyfriend got the bacon burger and liked it, and got a side of truffle fries. The fries were delicious though a little greasy towards the end.

We went on a Sunday evening and took advantage of the all-you-can-play offer which is DEFINITELY the way to go and well worth the price of admission! We did all four courses, and only ever really had to wait for the people in front of us on one of them. The technology behind these courses is amazing with the high-tech ball tracking and score keeping system, and the holes were unique and challenging along the way! Had I realized it would be this fun, I would have booked earlier and spent even more time playing courses again, because I can't overstate how much fun we had over the two hours we spent at Puttshack!

I had a great experience here! While I didn't eat or drink anything--partly because it was a bit pricey and we had just eaten--I came for the indoor putt-putt golf, and it did not disappoint. It was so much fun, and the fact that it's indoors made it even better. Of course, winning the game made it that much sweeter! The venue offers four different indoor courses, though you don't get to choose which one you play--they assign it for you. The service was fine, and the ambiance was absolutely stunning, adding to the overall experience. I'd definitely come back just to play again!

I've been to putt shack of three other occasions and it's always great! This time I actually was there for food and a game (versus an event). Our waitress Amanda was personable, promptly checked on us when seated and routinely followed up. She was gracious without being too attentive. We got drinks and apps- the bbq flatbread and pierogi egg rolls hit the spot! I had a spicy marg and old fashioned which were delicious. The tables were awkwardly long for conversation but it wasn't unbearable. There was a dj playing some throwback tunes that made me want to dance by instead I got my butt kicked in mini golf on the last two holes. It's definitely a good time and one you should experience!'

We had a mutual day off and decided to give Puttshack a try. When we arrived and said we wanted to eat and play, we were directed to a section of iPads to book. I'm tech savvy but had trouble booking to eat first and play after. The hostess said to just book the game and it would be fine. The issue was that I then had to guess how long it was going to take to be served and eat. I chose a time that was 75-ish minutes later. We ordered an app & flatbread to share. The poutine was delicious though definitely saltier than it needed to be. The margarita flatbread was perfect. We didn't order drinks. We finished our food and it was nearly our tee time. And unfortunately we couldn't find our waitress anywhere. My husband stayed at the table while I went over to make sure we were set up. There was a private party and we had been assigned to their golf section so we needed to be moved. My husband did finally find the waitress but we were a few minutes late for our tee time. It wasn't a big deal because it wasn't that busy but I felt anxious being late. The 9 holes were all super fun. Your ball is linked to your name and it's very techy and challenging. Because it was just the two of us, we were done fairly quickly. Next time we want to bring a larger group for sure.

You can really feel the friendly atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The golf course itself is beautiful, well-kept, and full of unique character. There is so much cool paraphernalia and fun trinkets all throughout the property that make it interesting even between holes. Every hole was set up so neatly, with creative layouts, multiple drops, and thoughtful details that kept it fun the entire way through. I especially loved that they had an easier course for younger kids, which made it perfect for our children, and we also noticed the moving/more challenging course, which looked like something my husband and I would love to come back and try on our own. NOTES: -Call ahead if you're really set on a specific course or experience. During our visit, they closed off the entire first floor (and Lodge course) for a private event. However, as noted below, getting a human on the phone can be difficult. There's "Puttshack", a very similar concept, a block away if you really get blocked. -The electronic scorecard only allows you four players. (Unsure what another reviewer said about gigantic groups. It, literally, is only programmed to allow four players. It's very possible that parents were just letting kids playing alongside with zero "scorecard" as it'd be easy to do that.) -The Lodge course is on the first floor, and the Garage and Library are on the second floor. There's an elevator between the two, but I'd caution people with limited mobility that there are narrow walkways within most of the courses themselves. Restaurant/hallways are wide enough for wheelchairs if someone wanted to accompany though. -When we came, the Library was decorated for a Valentine's Day pop-up. You could play the Valentine's Day pop-up just the same as regular Unlimited, making their "upcharged, single Valentine's Course" event really expensive with no gain for you. I'd have been annoyed if I'd paid that for the promised "romance and lots of Instagram worthy spots", but it was a cute addition to the standard Unlimited Normal price we paid. -If you want to memorialize your scores, take a photo of the digital scorecard right after you put in the final score. Like, be READY as soon as you put in that number. It disappears into the ether as soon as that final score is put in. I'd love to see it wait for a confirmation/30 second delay to allow people to get pictures before the final scores disappear. PROS: -No idea why they make each Puttery so gorgeous, but they are. The interiors are very shiny and thought-out, and if you're not pressured mid-courses, it's really fun to look at the details they've put into the course decor. (From iconic photos of Pittsburgh to historical posters of golf or fun-looking books). Even the seating is comfy and pretty, and I'd come here just to sit and have drinks, a la cocktail bar, if I was in the area. -A good variety of drinks with mostly housemade ingredients. Sweet or spirit-forward, they have both (and beers and wines). They're $15-ish a pop per cocktail, but as it's hard to take a break mid-course, you'll probably only end up doing a few if you do all three courses. -I love the drink ledges at each hole. This makes things so much easier to play. Make it to your course's hole, put down your drink, take your shots, and pick up and get ready to move on. -Each course is REALLY well-themed. Our car-loving friend fell in love with the Garage, and I loved the calm and astronomical vibes of the Library. The Lodge was cute, too, and it felt really applicable for winter. -Really, it's just an amazing experience. I have complaints, but I haven't really found a competitor doing things much better than the Puttery does it. We love coming to Puttery locations. CONS: -I went to a Puttery in Minneapolis, and they had a great happy hour. Before I popped into Pennsylvania, I wanted to see if I could plan to hit up their own happy hour. I tried for (literal) days at different times of day, calling the number to see if I could get a person on the line. I'm not sure what was going on, but it took calling on four different days to eventually get a person to tell me they don't have a happy hour here. I'm really frustrated by companies continually crapping out on their ability to contact a business ahead of time. -Someone needs to rethink the drink ledges in the Garage section. The "ledges" are as tall as their highball cups, making it very, very hard to retrieve a cup from the ledge without touching straws and the drinking areas of the cups. Considering how dirty your hands get from constantly touching new surfaces in here, this was really gross. The drink ledges in the Lodge and Library did not have this issue. -Unlike my experience in Minneapolis, every course had an attendant near it. However, the attendants were playing on their phones while many of the ledges had abandoned/empty cups sitting on them. Zero complaints about playing on your phone, but make sure the area you're monitoring is clean first. -I had this same complaint at my last Puttery, but I LOVE the electronic scorekeeping. Every hole, you take your turns and you put your score into a tablet attached to the start of the course. It then, digitally, moves your scorecard onto the next course. It's SO convenient. It also means that you can't "swap" groups mid course. If there's a single kid zooming through on Unlimited plays, he'll be constantly stuck behind you, waiting on you to finish, as the scorecards don't allow you to "swap" with a group ahead or behind you.

I wanted to visit one more time before they permanently closed, so I did just that on the last weekend of operations for the mini golf. Sunset Golf is located on Brownsville Road in South Park. It is in a more serene area, and has a private parking lot. Along with mini golf, there is a driving range, golf lessons, a pro shop, as well as some concessions to partake in. We visited on the final Saturday of operations for the mini golf, arriving around 3 PM. It was fairly busy, but we were still able to enjoy our afternoon mini golfing and taking in the atmosphere. I thought the price for mini golf was fair at $8 per person. The mini golf was lots of fun! It was a 27 hole course, with a lot of variety in the holes. There were some more simplistic ones, and others that were more intricate. Some of my favorite holes were the water fall hole (#2), the Grinch House, and the Pirate Ship holes. Some of the holes were challenging, such as the one that is simply an uphill slope, or the one with a rotating receiver. The variety was nice to keep it interesting and moving along. You could even win a free game of mini golf, or some strokes removed from your overall score, depending on your performance on the last hole! I enjoyed getting to keep score the old fashion way with the book and paper. This place overall has a nice blend of newer, more updated aspects, while still keeping true to its history and providing some nostalgia in ways such as. I think on a normal day, you could probably get through the course in about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on your party size. However, since it was more crowded on this day, it took us closer to two hours to get through since there were a lot of groups ahead of us that caused a natural bottleneck. The staff members were all very friendly, and also helpful. I could tell they took care in their work, as I saw several taking care of holes and keeping up with the landscape while we were going through the course. For example, coming through with a blower to remove mulch from the greens. I have always loved this place, and was so glad to be able to visit one final time. I also got to bring my fiancé here for the first time this trip, since he is not from here and had never been before. Even despite the extremely harsh heat and sun, we thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit this day! I will always cherish the memories made here, such as my sister's birthday party when we were kids, and all of the other good times over the years. We will definitely miss having a locally-owned mini golf so close to home, and being able to support it!!! Thank you, Sunset Golf!

My son and I stumbled upon this business looking for something different to do in the area and I am…read moreso glad we did! It is located near South Park of Allegheny County Parks, right on Brownsville with a free parking lot, and I wish I knew about it sooner. We went at the perfect timing as it was pretty empty our first game and then our second, more people came. Their prices are incomparable of only $8/person for 27 holes of outdoor mini golf with each hole having a really creative theme about it (ninja turtle one with sewers popping up, grinch one snowing with bubbles, mario, ship with weather storming for a nice cool off during a hot day - to name a few) and the second game is half off so if you play a second it's only $4/person. The driving range goes by how many balls you'd like, I believe we got a medium basket for $13. The last hole of mini golf gives you a chance to win a free game. We had a wonderful bonding experience. Maybe only good tip to know is bring your own water bottle and snack as we were able to bring ours but they do sell water bottles for $1/each. Such an affordable nice time, we can't wait to be back! (Also captured a beautiful rainbow on our visit!)

The center also offers private instruction for golfers of various ability levels. My husband and I are not "real" golfers; We visited for the mini golf. Currently, the cost for the putt putt is $8 per adult and $5 per child aged 13 and under. When we paid our fees for the putt putt, the employee promptly and politely served us. The putt-putt course was not the most interesting that I have ever played, but my husband and I had fun with it. We skipped one hole because it was covered in some rain or other water, but the other holes were in good condition. After we finished our putt-putt game, I returned to the employee to purchase a small Hershey's ice cream. She again served us very promptly and politely. I had chosen the Orange Blossom flavor, which contained vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet, and I enjoyed it.

Debbie was patient and gave really great tips and information for a semi beginner like me. I left knowing exactly what I needed to work on and feeling confident that I could join any group of golfers this summer. I really can't thank her enough. I'm ready to have a great time this season.
