Cool concept and love the mini golf portion. Do not come here if you expect great customer service though. They do not take reservations for their restaurant section whatsoever. Tried to give advance notice of my team of 11 coming in so they could accommodate to us (actually left a few voicemails on the machine for over a week as well as an email and Facebook message with only a response to the FB message stating they would try to accommodate and let the manager know), we ended up waiting over 2 hours to just be seated after completing our mini golf game. Hostess staff and managers are extremely rude. There is no sense of urgency or sense of what it means to provide service here. For someone who spent over $500 here trying to treat my out of state team, did not feel valued or treated with respect whatsoever. read more

I was not going to write a review, but Yelp kept sending me an email about it and it reignited my frustration. We were passing through Atlanta and staying the night. I heard about Puttshack and thought it would be a fun treat for the family to eat dinner and play putt-putt. We drove to the location and pre-paid $15 for parking on a weeknight. As we approached the entrance of Puttshack, there was a Puttshack employee at the door. He opened the door and said, "good luck" which we thought was odd, but there are lots of odd people in big cities, so whatever. Time was 7:45pm on a Tuesday (this matters). We checked in with the hostess and advised her a party of 6 (2 adults & 4 teenagers). Hostess advised that there would be a 45-60 minute wait. I looked around and the place was empty, save for some people at the bar and some playing putt-putt; I asked her if we could play the game first, then eat. The hostess advised that there was not another golf game available until 10pm. So in an empty restaurant, we would have to wait an hour to be seated and/or two hours to play putt-putt. We decided to signup for the golf so that we could be "on call" in case something opened up. When we walked up to the self-serve kiosk, we learned that 21 and under are not permitted to play after 8pm on weeknights and 7pm on weekends. Again, I cannot emphasize how empty the place was and how ridiculous this rule is. We decided that we were not willing to wait an hour for food on w weeknight and unwilling to patronize a business that was not family friendly. To her credit, the hostess offered us free golf passes and discounted meal on our next visit (before 8pm), but we advised her that we were in town just for the evening and honestly just wanted dinner. We took the passes and left them for the hotel staff. My advice to Puttshack is decide if you want to be an entertainment eatery or a drunk golf bar. read more

My first time was Sunday (Oct. 2nd) with my husband and two teenaged boys and we had a fabulous time. The putt courses were a little packed , so you might want to come earlier (reserve ahead of time) on Saturdays and Sundays (if you can afford to come during the week I bet it's less crowded.) The course (Emerald) was super fun and just the right amount of holes. The course wasn't too long and it wasn't too short. We had dinner after and the food was surprisingly good (I didn't know what to expect from a place called Putt SHACK). The drinks were small but strong. Our waiter Matt was fanatastic, he was knowledgable about the menu and didn't get sick of us asking for stuff every five minutes LOL ( we loved Matt, he's a good guy).The ambience is good for family and great for date night. Visited Puttshack for a team builder/going away party celebration for myself last week. The parking situation was slightly confusing but once inside, I dug the ambience and vibe. The place is two stories and our event was on the second floor. When we got upstairs the hostess taking care of us showed us to our seating area. Shortly after we sat down, she explained the food/beverage situation according to the group package we'd pre-selected. The only problem was, she'd handed us menus for our drinks and we ordered from that but it wasn't until after a few of us had already ordered drinks that we were told the drinks we ordered were not part of our package and we had to pay for them separately. That was a bummer and very inconvenient since we all ordered thinking everything would be on our company's dime and now we had to open our pockets to pay. It could've been explained better but ok, fine, small misunderstanding. The food came out and the hostess explained what everything was ...it was all all finger foods and looked OK although very tiny portions. Problem was, there were two plant-based folks in the group including myself and all they had for us was a tiny box of cold noodles and a small "salad" --I use the word salad loosely since it was more "lettuce and tomato" than salad. Again, this was all part of the package we ordered (the person who planned the event chose the package for us and she's plant based so she picked the best option for us and that's what she chose so I'm assuming it was the best they could do) I'm not sure what other vegan options the place has, I just know it wasn't enough in the spread we got. The food was just ok. I do occasionally eat seafood, thankfully, so I was able to grab some mini crab cakes and they were actually pretty good. Next, it was time to play the mini-golf. One of the employees helped us set the game up by separating our group into two teams, and entering our names into the system. That part took longer than expected but it was fine, everyone kept drinking and socializing while we waiting. However, there was another long wait before we could play because they had to reset the system or something. Took forever and we were on a set schedule since we were on the company's dime. Finally it was time to start and this part was the worst part of the entire experience. The game was CONFUSING, it NEVER worked properly, the had to reset it again during gameplay because it wasn't recording two of my coworkers' scores. It was annoying but we were patient and kept using the excuse that the place was new therefore the kinks hadn't been worked yet. But, that excuse only goes so far. In the end we just ended up making our own rules and just tried to have fun since it wasn't really working well enough to actually compete against each other. The straw that broke the camel's back for me happened when a rude employee told us he was "annoyed". Excuse me!? Here's what happened: There's a railing at the first hole...a very slim railing. Personally, I wouldn't trust resting a drink there but one of my teammates did and when it was my turn to putt, I didn't see it behind me, backed into it and it broke and shattered everywhere. The employee came over to clean it up clearly looking pissed and we all apologized profusely. He responded with, I'm very annoyed or something to that effect and we were not pleased with that. I understand the inconvenience and we apologized (they need to place more areas to set glasses if they're going to allow glasses in the game area) but it was a simple mistake and you never tell a customer you're annoyed. We asked to speak to a manager and he apologized on behalf of the employee but honestly it wasn't enough since the glass breaking incident was just one in a series of fails that day. I forgot to mention that at the bar the bartender was a bit rude. I noticed that there wasn't an old fashioned in the menu and he replied with a snarky, "well isn't that something how we have a whole bar here? I can take a joke and sarcasm but it didn't seem like a joke and I didn't appreciate it. Overall, I gave Puttshack 1 star because of the ambience and the crab cakes but they lost points for the rude staff and a game that doesn't work properly and is confusing. read more

Party of 5 we made a reservation for 10:40. We made it to to the restaurant to check in we were told that we needed to be upstairs at ruby red. We all climbed the stairs to get upstairs only to be told we had to come back downstairs to Emerald. We waited for another 20 mins to play the game. Played the game and went to the bar at 11:30 and both bartenders and manger said that the bar was closed. We traveled very far to enjoy our anniversary and only to get crappy service. We couldn't eat we couldn't drink or anything. I work in the industry and this experience was really disappointing. I would give zero stars if I was allowed. read more

If this place doesn't immediately go out of business, I will be shocked. It is very "instagrammable" but entirely lacks any substance. Puttshack is extremely overpriced and nonsensical. You pay $12 for 9 holes. The concept is pretty cool in theory. The ball has WiFi inside of it and it tracks each shot you take. The holes LOOK pretty dope (a beer pong course, a half pipe skating ramp, etc.), but a lot of them are either impossible or laughably easy. Your score is not dependent on you actually getting the fewest strokes. Instead, it is based on you hitting the ball in a certain spot which will give you an automatic hole-in-one. There are also little gimmicks such as asking you a question before the hole and giving you bonus points if you get it correct by striking the ball on the right side of the hole for false or the left side of the hole for true. In some seemingly incomprehensible calculation, you are given a point score based on your strokes + accomplishment of certain feats. On a very busy night where I was waiting to start multiple holes and playing with two other friends, and during which I stopped and ordered a beer, it took a total of 15-20 minutes to play the 9 holes. Another really poor design feature is that you must wait for a person to play the entire hole before you can start. So, for example, player A tees off. Although they are friends and in the same group, Player B cannot tee off until Player A hits his ball into the hole. This is not how golf is played and really limits the appeal. Employees and patrons were not wearing masks. Employees didn't know the rules or the answers to questions. If this place wants to survive, it needs to offer all four courses for about $25 total and eliminate the wait between players teeing off. But I'm sure they won't do that. Our group was diverse and they served the white guys after telling the black Girls they could not! Their service was terrible and only after a change did we get decent service. I worked in the food industry as a server the entire time I was in college and the service at Putt Shack from the front entrance to the golfing floor, to the kitchen to the manager was some of the worst I've ever experienced. The ambiance was really nice but everything else they offer is VERY poorly executed. This place has potential but I think they could really benefit from having an industrial engineer or some sort of consultant come in and help them organize and make their processes more efficient. I felt like I was a part of a free test trial at a new business. But this was not a free experience, as a matter of fact it was pretty expensive and the fact that we came there to celebrate a 30th birthday and have a good time made it even worst. Came in with my friend last weekend on Saturday night and grabbed a seat at the bar around 11:30 pm or so. We sat there for at least 10 minutes before someone acknowledge us to take our order. The bartender,a woman with dreads, was very rude when we asked for food menus. She said they were no longer serving food . I kindly asked when the kitchen closes for future reference , and her response was "now". No exact time given. I'm assuming they closed at midnight, but did not want to give us the exact time because it was close to kitchen closure but still possible to throw in an order. Saw a video on Tiktok and it looked super cool so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try. I think it's a cool concept and could work out pretty well if they managed the place better. Obviously people are interested in it as it was super packed (& we went on a Monday night). Everybody was crammed together upstairs and all you do is stand there waiting to play. They allow way too many people on the "course" at once. Also very hard to get a drink! Don't think this is an issue of being understaffed, just a place trying to bite off more than they can chew. First, we paid $18 for a drink we did not order. Our waitress allowed us to put an order in for a drink that she later told us they didn't have and had the bartenders make up a drink and charge $18! Second, we asked for napkins three times and never received them. We had to rub our hands together to get the crumbs off. If they were to improve by 80% or more they would rise to the level of horrible. We were there for about 40 minutes on a Wednesday night and were never given an opportunity to spend a single dime. The line to get a drink was just 3 deep but after 40 minutes it was still 2 deep, only because one lady ahead of us got disgusted and left (along with several friends she was with). During the 40 minutes I watched one particular bartender who started fixing one drink for a customer but after talking with other employees and doing, whatever type stuff never served that same drink. Management has very serious problems at this Atlanta location. Don't frustrate yourself. Go somewhere else that deserves your business, where you can have a good time. My first visit on a Saturday and I enjoyed myself. We golfed and that was fun. We then ate after playing a game. One of my favorites from the menu was the Georgia Tailpipes they had collards and pulled pork inside, so delicious I highly recommend. I also had a flatbread pizza which was fine no complaints but nothing special. There food menu didn't have many options but what I did eat was good. We had reservations for a group of 8 of us. We arrived on time and showed our reservations and got it. It was a madhouse. We played the putt putt game which was fun except it was too crowded with people. It's a fairly small course. The drinks are really expensive. I had a $16 8oz margarita and $8 draft beer. We were going to eat but we could not get anyone to hell us. The service was really very bad. Some members of the group got loud wanting some attention but we ended up just leaving.
