My friend and I went to Longleaf Restaurant at the Atlanta Botanical Garden for lunch on New Year's Eve. When we made our reservation, we didn't fully read all the details, so it was a surprise to learn upon arrival that we needed to purchase Botanical Garden admission tickets ($30 per person) in order to access the restaurant. To be fair, this information is clearly stated on Yelp and on the restaurant's website, so that part was on us. Once inside, the experience was very pleasant. From the hostess to our server, everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional, which immediately set a positive tone. The restaurant itself is bright and peaceful, surrounded by garden views that make the setting feel special and relaxing. For lunch, I ordered the mushroom risotto, which was rich, creamy, and comforting, with good depth of flavor. My friend had the beef cheek ravioli, which was tender and well-prepared, making it a satisfying and flavorful choice. Overall, despite the unexpected garden admission fee, we enjoyed our visit. For the price I think 3.5 stars is fair. We came for Holiday Nights and it really is a great double date spot. The restaurant is beautiful and feels high end and modern. The food had some seasoning issues though. The half chicken tasted only of rosemary and needed salt and acid. The scallops were absolutely delicious and the frisée was a great touch, but the menu mentioned a bacon jam and I did not taste any bacon at all. My friend enjoyed his steak au poivre. Another friend had the duck confit which she said was delicious and well seasoned, although the beans and sun dried tomatoes did not seem to work with the dish. Service was standard. Holiday Nights are always packed so it gets busy, but everything moved at a normal pace. Overall, upscale, beautiful, expensive, and mostly great. read more

I Brought my wife here for Mother's Day, hoping for a great experience. There was absolutely nothing special about this place. The views were non-existent, unless you're sitting outside. The service was mediocre at best and the food was average. Everything here is a la carte, but for a Mother's Day brunch they didn't have breakfast potatoes, smoked salmon or any specialty entrees. They didn't offer anything special for the mothers, not a rose not a champagne or chocolate or anything. The food took 35 minutes to come out of the kitchen and the restaurant was only half full. They changed the menu on this day by eliminating items, so it was limited, which was done intentionally because they anticipated being busy. The restaurant is beautiful with floor to ceiling windows allowing you to fully take in the gardens while you stop in for a meal. The experience was better than I expected. The portion sizes of the food is quite small, especially considering the price. I ordered the duck and while the protein was seasoned beautifully, I didn't quite understand the beans as an accompaniment. The dish was very brown and was not aesthetically pleasing. Came in today (Tuesday June 10, 2025) around 12:30pm while visiting the gardens. What a great day to have lunch on the patio. The weather was perfect did us anyway we got to sit on the patio, under the roof of the restaurant and enveloped in the gorgeous green canopy of the beautiful botanical gardens. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated even though there were many open tables. After being seated we waited about 15 minutes for our server. There seemed to be only 2 or possible 3 servers for the whole restaurant so perhaps they had a staffing shortage today. Luckily we happened to get the best server ever by the name of Akeem's, who is extremely pleasant, professional and efficient. We had already chosen our appetizers and entrees so we were able to give our orders right away. The food came out pretty quickly once we ordered which was great. For an appetizer to share we had the Tartare of Beef, which was wagyu beef, bone marrow, chanterelle and egg yolk, anchovie aioli with chips. The flavor of this was incredible, you could faintly taste every little ingredient, but they were distinct and yet melded together well. Next appetizer we had the poached pear/coppa de corse flatbread, which is basically pizza. This dish is incredibly good. I can't say I'm not sure if there was a pear flavor, it's hard to describe the flavor really, but it was incredibly fresh and tasty with a very light crust, topped with arugula. Really enjoyed this "pizza". Our entree was the dish and chips which normally is "halibut " and fries, but they had no halibut so substituted with rainbow trout. There's a big difference between halibut and rainbow trout but we bit the bullet and tried it. The trout was fresh tasting enough but the breading/crust really took away from the flavor, and it very dry. As for the fries, I'm not big on fries but these were very unique. I couldn't describe the flavor exactly, it was if they were seasoned with some kind of spices you might find on a piece of chicken or maybe even fish (?), again I'm not sure but they were extremely fresh, very tasty and incredibly light with very little grease for french fries. We just had eaters with our meals since we would be walking the gardens after. So for 3 small dishes and waters we paid $64. We probably should have not ordered the fish and chips since they didn't have halibut so that was a disappointment. Our server Ajeema was the spotlight of the visit. If more restaurants had staff members of such caliber the world would be a better place. Since it was my friends birthday today and Ajeemas is also close she was nice enough to bring out a small pastry to celebrate; man that was like the absolute best thing ever and really made our day! I came at an off time by myself (well with a book) and it was just so pleasant. The waiter was friendly and nice, the space has this soft lighting with a lot of natural light too, and overall it felt really serene. I didn't feel rushed to leave either. I ordered the mushroom risotto with a side of salmon and a glass of wine and it was all delicious. I will say the only negative experience (if you could even call it negative) is that the hostess initially looked at me like I was a vagrant, said something along the lines of "are you looking for something?" and only softened when I said no that I wanted to eat (which was awkward because I've never had to state my purpose when walking into a restaurant before, but again it was an off time so that might've been why). The ambiance was beautiful, very fancy and our waiter was very nice the only thing is it was a but slow and wasn't very busy. The squash blossom risotto was AMAZING with Roasted corn. I wish there were more than just two squash blossoms because it was a lot of risotto. It was creamy and flavorful amd not too spicy, but like I said, I would have loved more of those blossoms on top. I'm not sure why this place has lower reviews. During our visit, we were exhausted and hungry, and we wanted to avoid creepy food. When we found this restaurant, we were impressed by its upscale appearance and decided to give it a try. This restaurant is inside the Atlanta Botanical Garden in midtown Atlanta. The ambiance is beautiful with one side being all glass windows overlooking the gardens. The opposite wall contains beautiful six foot colorful paintings. It truly is a beautiful setting. The menu has starters, salads, sandwiches, entrees and dessert. It was a cool day and I was really looking forward to some soup. I mistook the French onion dip on the menu for French onion soup and ordered what I thought was soup, and a beet salad. I repeated the word soup again when my waiter asked me if I wanted the two items together and I responded that I would have the soup first. As you can imagine, I was surprised when the onion dip came out instead of soup. It was very tasty, buy not what I was expecting. I guess I need to be more careful when reading the menu. The beat salad was tasty, but not very substantial. If I returned to the gardens I would eat here again but would definitely order different items. read more

When I went approximately 1 year ago, we happened to order this appetizer called a Diavolo Flatbread. It was...AMAZING. To my chagrin, I came with much anticipation to revisit that experience--and was told they no longer served that ***crying***. I got the chicken tartine (basically a chicken salad sandwich with no top bread, open-faced) and then a salad for the side. I was NOT told that to have a salad it would cost extra. It was said to me as "fries or salad". My waiter was nice, but overall it was kind of disappointing. Also, I had to wait for AWHILE before being seated; like I had time to go to the restroom, and sat around even more before being called...and it was just ME, and the restaurant wasn't that busy. I ate a beautiful, relaxed lunch here on a Wednesday afternoon a couple weeks back. It was an unexpected pleasure because the restaurant hours were listed as dinner only, but while walking the gardens, we noticed the staff setting up around 11 am, stopped to check, and they said they definitely serve lunch! I had checked some reviews and knew to expect that service might be slow, but once we were seated outside with a cocktail in hand, I thought, who are these people writing reviews and rushing through such a delightful experience?!? For us, the hour plus we were there was lovely, with delicious food and excellent service, and I wouldn't have wanted to rush it. We started our lunch with a honeysuckle vodka and prosecco cocktail off the mixed drink menu and it was fantastic! Light, floral and tasty! Next up, we split a salad, which, for $12, was an excellent value, full of fresh greens and veggies and other interesting bits, and definitely large enough to share. For our mains, I had the spring risotto with peas, fava beans, asparagus and roasted cipollini onions. It was a good sized portion, very creamy and rich - I loved it. My friend had the salmon over a farro salad - the fish was cooked perfect and the salad was nicely dressed. We shared and both agreed all the dishes were winners. With such a great experience up to this point we decided we needed to have dessert, so we had the chocolate cake with fudge inside, which was just like a lava cake, and iced coffees. The coffee part was the only strange bit - the restaurant had to get the coffees from the quick cafe because they 'don't serve coffee'?? huh?? Regardless, the coffee was great and was easy to add directly to our bill without needing two transactions. And, our amazing server brought us to-go cups when we decided to take the rest of our coffee with us back into the gardens. Lovely, classic space, attentive and skilled staff, fresh, beautiful food, indoor and outdoor seating, a fantastic cocktail menu, yummy desserts, and the location in the middle of the serene beauty of the Botanical Garden - I highly recommend this place and look forward to eating here again at a future visit to the gardens! On July 11, 2025, we had an early reservation, we arrived at on time and were seated. A few minutes later a group of over 10 was seated near us. Their noise was so intense that we moved to another table. Probably because of this large group, we were not served water for about 20 minutes; our food order took another 30-40 minutes to arrive (one dish was wrong and was sent back). And the food was not delicious: the fish was deep fat fried, the sandwich was a fried mixture. It seems as if they are understaffed and aren't timing reservations to accommodate the flow. We ended up agreeing that we should come back to the Botanical Gardens more frequently just to eat at Longleaf. Food: 5/5 Whole Longleaf doesn't offer brunch on Saturdays, their lunch menu does offer a good variety of options for different palates. Their bread service, while not free ($12 as I recall), was phenomenal and was the perfect accompaniment to their other starter, the butternut squash soup. Their soup, while thick, isnt overly seasoned and is light and pleasing to the taste. Their addition of fresh herbs makes this a delicious light soup vs some of the soggier high sodium soups you'll find at other spots. For the entrees, I recommend the duck confit and the main salad. Their salads are so fresh, well seasoned, and not overly oily, having just the right feel when bitten into. Longleaf might just have the best salads in town. Get one! Service: 5/5 Our server was fantastic in every regard, and took extra time to check on us throughout the meal, even offering to combine boxes together into a larger bag to help us with the take out. We also needed a highchair and they didn't disappoint here with getting one quickly (and one that works). The restaurant is beautiful with large windows looking out into the garden on all slides. It is clean and modern inside. You can also dine outside on the fully shaded patio which is so relaxing. We were large party so I was expecting dinner to take a long time but it did not. The staff was quick and attentive. It was not very busy for a Saturday evening. I had the duck confit and it was incredibly salty, so salty my tongue actually hurt after eating it. My husband had the garden salad. He said it was pretty good but nothing special. It was very light and refreshing to taste. Honey vinaigrette over a mixed salad that contained grapes, corn, walnuts, apples and fried tofu. I ate as much as I could but didn't get to finish it. The restrooms were very clean, you do have to pay for parking which is $3 for 1.5 hrs and $2 every 30 minutes after that. For this restaurant, I would recommend going on a weekday. I went during the weekend and they seemed to be understaffed so our waiter had a ton of other tables outside of ours which resulted in us getting simple items such as water refills every 10 minutes or so. With the first refill, he suggested sitting the entire water bottle at our table and stated that it would make his job a lot easier. We of course agreed because it's not okay for anyone to be overwhelmed if it can be helped. Overall, I enjoyed our experience! This is a hidden gem inside of the botanical garden of Atlanta. I ordered a beet and strawberry salad with salmon and it was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. My husband also loved his meal. Incredible chef for a restaurant that is only accessible when you enter the gardens. That being said, I have been to many of botanical garden and I have to say this is the best one we have ever been to. It is 30 acres of incredible beauty and stunning exhibits. The host told me that I could go outside or ask at the cafe. So I go to the cafe and ask for water. Just tap water. Again I was sent outside. So I stumbled through the door and spent another 5 minutes looking for water. The water I found was hot and barely dripped out of the faucet. The only redeeming thing about this place is the Thor looking bartender who offered me water when I came back inside. Don't eat here. read more

This is not just a restaurant, it's an experience for your tastebuds. The food is farm to table and the menu is curated by season. They do not offer take out or delivery, it's a dine in only restaurant. They take pride in the food that is served and it is made to perfection. A reservation is recommended, reservations can be made on open table. Dress code is business casual not enforced. Diners are required to have a ticket to the botanical gardens for 30 mins before the reservation. They do not validate parking and it is charged separate from the ticket to the gardens. The ambiance is great for a date, family dinner or business meets. It is moderately quiet. I highly recommend their soups, risotto, and the peach cobbler which is served in spring. The coffees here are also amazing. You cannot go wrong with any of the items on the menu. They cater to most dietary restrictions, there are a good amount of vegetarian and vegan options. There is a kids menu as well. The presentation and playing is impeccable. The staff is friendly and courteous. The quality is consistent and I've been here with friends and family as everyone has something on the menu they love. A day in the garden and a meal at Longleaf will definitely nourish your soul. My sister and I ordered lunch from Longleaf while visiting the Gardens. My sister tried to get a reservation for the patio days before but had no luck, and she wasn't comfortable dining indoor yet. For takeout, you place your order at the cafe in the back of the restaurant. There's a separate entrance. We ordered the following: Super food $10 + chicken $10 Kale caesar $8 Latte $4 There was a bit of a wait for the food and they gave us two super food salads instead of the kale caesar. They did however, fix this immediately. The staff was pleasant the entire time. We found tables outside not far from the restaurant. The salads were delicious, but the portions were kinda small especially for the price. The latte was decent. There aren't a ton of options for food in the Gardens, so this is probably your best option. read more

Came to Longleaf on a busy beautiful Saturday in Spring! We did not have a reservation and were very happy to only have to wait 45 minutes for a table for 5. The food was fantastic, beer was cold, and air conditioning was surprisingly nice to relax and enjoy lunch it. It is a gorgeous spring day about 72 and sunny blue sky. You can see greenery from the restaurant but no real garden. The server was kind and attentive. The prices are what you'd expect for a nice restaurant in the garden. We got a flatbread that I forgot to take a picture of that was incredible. The broccoli salad was sooooooooo yummy. My husband loved his smash burger too. Definitely rather stop here for a lovely lunch than a turkey sandwich at a snack station. read more
